Chapter 833 Can You Let Me Go This Time, Please?

Oliver drove Adeline back to the small courtyard.

On the way, he filled her in on everything that had happened after she was taken away the previous night.

He also handed her phone back and told her which hospital Oscar was in.

Adeline took her phone and quietly sent Oscar a message, saying she would visit him in the afternoon.

Even though she had only met Oscar for the first time yesterday, they had hit it off immediately.

Moreover, Oscar had been kidnapped and injured because of her.

He thought he had dragged her into trouble.

But in reality, it was he who had been dragged into it.

After putting down her phone, Adeline was about to continue chatting with Oliver when she noticed they had already arrived at the courtyard gate.

On the other side of the gate, a flashy Ferrari was parked.

Both Adeline and Oliver recognized the car.

It was a gift Daisy had received from Howard and Zara for her twentieth birthday.

Daisy always drove this car to make a grand entrance at important events.

The siblings exchanged a glance.

Oliver sneered and opened the car door.

"She dares to show up!"

If Jasper hadn't arrived in time last night, would Adeline still be sitting safely in his car now?

Not to mention the things Daisy had Isaiah do.

Oliver prided himself on being ruthless in business, but he had never thought of treating a woman like that.

Daisy, being a woman herself, had come up with such a vicious plan, completely shattering Oliver's perception of her.

Thinking of this, he slammed the car door in anger and strode towards Daisy.

Adeline frowned and quickly followed him.

Seeing Oliver and Adeline get out of the car, Daisy bit her lip hard.

Her heart pounded with anxiety.

She knew what was coming.

This was the last place she should be right now.

But if she didn't come today...

She closed her eyes, recalling Brandon's words from their phone call:

"Daisy, you created this mess; you fix it."

"I can't always clean up after you. You exposed so much in front of Oliver, and you still expect me to cover for you?"

"Handle it yourself! If you can't, then forget about getting married!"

She knew Brandon was a man of his word, unyielding.

Six years ago, he had broken off their engagement for Adeline without hesitation.

Six years later, he could be just as ruthless.

If Adeline and Oliver really reported her to the police, she would not only go to jail but also lose Howard's protection, be shunned by the Torres family, and be abandoned by Brandon!

Thinking of the consequences, Daisy bit her lip and got out of the car.

By the time she got out, Oliver was already in front of her.

Seeing her get out, Oliver raised his hand and slapped her hard.

Daisy staggered back two steps and fell to the ground.

She tasted blood in her mouth and felt something sharp against her tongue.

Spitting on the ground, she realized Oliver's slap had knocked out two of her teeth!

She bit her lip, tears of pain welling up.

But Daisy forced herself to stand up and then knelt on the ground.

She looked up, her gaze fixed on Adeline behind Oliver.

"I'm here to apologize."

Her voice was slurred from the slap and missing teeth.

"Adeline, I know what I did yesterday was wrong. I hope you can forgive me."

Adeline frowned. "Forgive you?"

Since when did Daisy have such self-awareness? Adeline hadn't even had a chance to confront her, and she was already here to apologize?

Oliver also frowned, looking down at the woman kneeling before him. "This is a surprise. You, apologizing?"

Daisy bit her lip, enduring their mocking gazes, and lowered her head.

"Yes, I'm here to apologize."

"Adeline, yesterday's events were my fault."

"I shouldn't have arranged a blind date for you through Dad, and I definitely shouldn't have given Isaiah information about Oscar when I knew he was after him."

She bit her lip. "And I shouldn't have let Isaiah and his men do those things to you."

"Yesterday morning, I had a fight with Brandon. He said I was inferior to you in every way. I lost my temper and acted irrationally."

With that, she slapped herself hard. "It's all my fault!"

Adeline narrowed her eyes, a cold smile playing on her lips.

She walked slowly towards Daisy, her expression full of disdain.

"So, because you had a fight with Brandon and he said you were inferior to me, I had to suffer and almost lose my life?"

She found it laughable. "Daisy, what am I to you? What is a human life to you?"

"Because of a moment of anger and jealousy, you wanted me to suffer humiliation and die."

"Now that your plan has been exposed, you think kneeling and slapping yourself will make me forgive you?"

"Should I have David send people to do the same to you, scare you to death, and then apologize to you? How about that?"

Adeline's words made Daisy lower her head even more.

She hated hearing Adeline's moralizing.

In Daisy's world, if she was happy, everyone else could be happy.

But if she was unhappy, everyone else was to blame.

Adeline had made her unhappy so many times, she should have died long ago!

If it weren't for the evidence Oliver had and her impending wedding, she wouldn't be here apologizing to Adeline.

Daisy was just following her heart, doing what she wanted. What was wrong with that?

The one at fault was Adeline!

If Adeline had died six years ago when she and Molly had plotted against her, none of this would be happening now!

Thinking this, she bit her lip, hiding the malice in her eyes, and looked up at Adeline with a humble expression.

"Adeline, what do you want? What will it take for you to forgive me and withdraw your report to the police?"

Daisy's words made the air around them fall silent.

Adeline and Oliver exchanged a glance.

They quickly realized.

Daisy wasn't here to genuinely apologize or repent.

She thought Adeline and Oliver had gone to the police station this morning to report last night's incident!

Seeing Adeline and Oliver remain silent, Daisy panicked.

She looked at Adeline, her eyes full of pleading.

"Adeline, tomorrow is my wedding with Brandon."

"I can't be arrested now."

"Even if it's just for the fact that Brandon once saved you, please don't report me, okay?"

"Brandon saved you once, can't you let me go this time?"
