Chapter 570 Wouldn't It Be Better If I Died?

Lauren's words left Jasper and Blake speechless.

The surveillance footage made it clear—the bodyguard wasn't lying. Bennett had changed.

Blake couldn't handle the fact that his closest brother had turned into someone unrecognizable. He took a deep breath and squeezed Lauren's hand tightly.

"This isn't Bennett."

Lauren bit her lip. Blake took another deep breath and suddenly stood up.

"I'm going upstairs to rest."

With that, he quickly ran upstairs.

Lauren pursed her lips, glanced at Adeline and Jasper, and finally stood up to follow.

"I'll go check on Blake. He seems really upset."

Now, only Adeline and Jasper were left in the living room. Jasper frowned and turned to her.

"You don't seem surprised."

Blake and Lauren couldn't accept that the kid in the video was Bennett. But Adeline didn't look shocked at all. She must've known already.

Adeline turned to Jasper.

"Mr. Foster, you don't seem very shocked either, do you?"

Jasper smirked and leaned back on the sofa.

"Luna tried everything to get you to leave Radiance Springs, but you stayed because of Bennett, right?"

He continued, "If I'm not mistaken, the guy you were with at the fireworks party that night was Sebastian?"

Adeline was stunned for a moment and then nodded helplessly.

Jasper went on. "Sebastian can contact you and even hold you, but Bennett has become Molly's subordinate. So, Sebastian hasn't lost his memory. He's undercover."

Jasper raised his hand to rub his aching forehead.

"This is a bit tricky."

Adeline bit her lip and stayed silent. She had no idea how to get Bennett back on her side.

She had thought about it last night but couldn't come up with a good plan. She could only hope that Bennett hadn't let Luna go that day.

But reality was the opposite.

Adeline sighed. After a long silence, Jasper turned to her.

"I do have a plan."

Under Adeline's puzzled gaze, he smirked and said slowly, "Let's get married."

Those simple words left Adeline completely stunned. She almost thought she had misheard.

Seeing the disbelief on her face, Jasper frowned and repeated.

"I said, let's get married. Molly has always hated us being together."

His voice was low and indifferent. "Everything she's done since six years ago is because she's jealous of our relationship."

He added, "After you came back, she kept scheming against Bennett and Lauren to drive a wedge between us."

"This time, she came back and helped Luna repeatedly to break us apart," he analyzed.

He looked up, his gaze fixed on Adeline's delicate face.

"If we announce our marriage now, she'll definitely make a move. Once she shows up, we can get Bennett back sooner."

His words made sense. Adeline bit her lip, silently admitting he had a point.

She smirked mockingly. "I'm not making the same mistake twice. So, I refuse."

Even though marrying Jasper could lure Molly out, she didn't want to get tangled up with him again.

In the past, she had married Jasper without hesitation, which led to years of nightmares.

Now, she couldn't throw herself into that fire pit again just to make Molly act sooner.

She believed Bennett wouldn't want her to make such a choice either.

Jasper wasn't surprised by her refusal. He stared at her face and laughed.

"I thought you would do anything for your children. I overestimated you."

Adeline's hands clenched at her sides. He had indeed angered her.

She took a deep breath and stood up. "I would do anything for my children. But I refuse to marry you."

Adeline raised her head and fearlessly met Jasper's gaze.

"I've already made one mistake. Back then, you promised to eventually fall in love with me."

She continued, "But after marriage, all I got was your coldness, betrayal, and scheming."

"Now, without any promises, if Molly's issue is resolved and you find a new love, can I and my three children leave unscathed?" she asked.

Jasper frowned. "Do you really see me like that?"

Adeline sneered. "After Molly left, how many days did it take for you to get lovey-dovey with Stella?"

She added, "And how many days after meeting Luna did you start living together and confirming your relationship?"

Her voice was cold and emotionless. "Jasper, I won't solve one problem by inviting a bigger one."

Adeline's words left Jasper momentarily stiff. He was silent for a long time. After a while, he chuckled bitterly, his voice tinged with self-mockery.

"In your eyes, I'm that kind of person."

Adeline nodded. "Yes."

Jasper walked to Adeline and leaned down, pinning her hands and pressing her down.

His gaze locked onto hers. "Then why did you save me that day? Wouldn't it be better if a troublemaker like me died?"
