Chapter 418 He's in a Bad Situation Right Now

The office was jam-packed with roses, like, everywhere.

Bouquets on bouquets of roses had totally taken over her workspace.

Each rose was fresh and dewy, still rocking those water droplets.

Looked like they got dropped off this morning.

But Radiance Springs? Not exactly Rose City.

Seemed like they’d rounded up every rose in town.

Adeline just stood there, eyes wide, totally speechless at the sea of red.

Back in the day, she’d dreamed of someone special showering her with red roses.

But now? She wasn’t that naive girl anymore.

Adeline thought, "Who the heck sent all these roses?"

She frowned and went to find Lucia. "What’s the deal?"

Lucia bit her lip, looking unsure. "I have no clue. When I rolled in this morning, there were already a bunch of trucks full of roses. I managed to send a few trucks away, but if I hadn’t, your office and the whole design department would be drowning in roses."

Lucia sighed. "The convoy leader said some guy ordered them last night. He snagged all the roses from Radiance Springs and a few nearby cities, just for you."

Adeline went quiet.

Only one person came to mind who’d pull off something this over-the-top.

She took a deep breath and told Lucia to hand out the roses to every woman in the company. Then she grabbed her phone and left the office.

"Were the roses from you?" She called Vikram, sounding a bit annoyed.

Other than him, she couldn’t think of anyone else who’d be this extra to win over a girl.

Vikram had confessed his feelings yesterday and even saved her. Plus, he was just nineteen. This kinda move was right up his alley.

On the other end, Vikram was still in bed. He yawned and scratched his head as he got up. "What roses? What are you talking about?"

After leaving Blue Bay last night, he’d been mulling over what Adeline had said.

He felt like he needed to show he was serious, to be worthy of her kindness.

So, he’d stayed up all night tweaking his plans for a jewelry company, only crashing around four or five in the morning.

He had no clue about any roses.

Hearing Vikram’s sleepy voice, Adeline frowned.

'It’s not him,' she thought.

After hanging up, she sat in her office, watching Lucia and Robert move the roses out, feeling totally confused.

'If it’s not Vikram, then who?' she wondered.

Adeline couldn’t figure it out, so she finally called Blake. "Can you find out?"

On the other end, Blake nodded seriously. "The convoy’s route is pretty obvious. Shouldn’t be too hard to trace where the order came from."

Blake sat on the couch with a laptop on his lap, talking to Adeline while typing away.

Blake said, "Got it. The sender didn’t leave a name, but no worries. I can trace the call the shop got last night and figure out who it was."

"Mom, chill. This might take a bit," Blake said, diving into the shop’s call records.

Blake’s eyes went wide when he saw the number.

'No way, Jasper?' he thought.

'The guy had just made Adeline cry on the balcony last night, and now he’s sending truckloads of roses? What’s his game? Trying to make up for it?'

"Blake, did you find out?" Adeline asked, frowning when Blake stayed quiet. "Is it someone I know?"

Blake suddenly didn’t know how to break it to her.

He bit his lip, staying silent for a moment before taking a deep breath. "Mom, this person’s info is really hidden. My skills might not be up to snuff, so I can’t find out."

Adeline paused, holding the phone.

'Even Blake couldn’t find out? Who could it be?' she thought.

Sensing her shock, Blake knew he had to sell it better.

He sighed and pretended to feel guilty. "Mom, am I useless? I thought I could do it, but maybe I’m not good enough. I really can’t help you. I’m so useless."

Hearing Blake’s dejected voice, Adeline’s eyes widened.

"Blake, how can you think that? You’re only six, and you’re already amazing. It’s okay; you’ll get better. Get some rest. I won’t bother you," she said quickly, hanging up before he could feel worse.

Listening to the busy tone, Blake let out a long sigh of relief.

He knew that trick would work.

Blake squinted, leaning back on the couch, staring at the familiar number on the screen.

'What’s Jasper up to?' he thought.

After a long stare, Blake took a deep breath, grabbed his phone and called Jasper.

As the phone rang, Blake’s heart pounded.

Even though he’d dealt with Jasper before, since moving to Blue Bay and Adeline saying Jasper wouldn’t cover his and Lauren’s medical expenses anymore, Jasper felt so distant, untouchable.

Blake even worried that if Jasper answered and heard his voice, he’d think Blake was asking for money and hang up.

Just as Blake was getting more anxious, the call connected.

"Mr. Foster, hello, this is Blake, I—"

"Blake?" Before he could finish, a different voice cut in. "Why are you calling Jasper?"

Blake’s eyes widened. 'That voice, that tone—it’s not Jasper!'

He instantly went on high alert.

Normally, someone like Jasper wouldn’t just hand his phone to anyone. It’d have too many business secrets.

Blake bit his lip, his voice cautious. "Who are you? Why do you have Jasper’s phone?"

Jason couldn’t help but laugh at Blake’s serious tone. "Blake, I’m not a bad guy. I’m Jasper’s good friend, Jason. We’ve met before."

Blake frowned, thinking for a moment before relaxing. "You’re the handsome but silly Uncle Jason?"

"Where’s Jasper?" Blake asked.

Jason glanced at Jasper lying on the bed, looking pale, and sighed. "He’s not doing well right now."
