Chapter 598 They're All Jerks

Adeline's hands were balled into fists at her sides. She really wanted to tell Lily that today was her and Jasper's engagement day.

She instinctively glanced back. Over by the stage, Molly was coming down. Bennett was standing on the steps in front of her, carefully reaching out to help her.

His small body couldn't really support Molly, but he was earnestly trying to do the impossible.

Adeline felt a pang of heartache.

It was clear that although Molly always claimed Bennett was her son, she had never shown him any warmth.

Otherwise, why would such a young child take the initiative to support a healthy Molly?

Thinking of Molly's threats, Adeline took a deep breath and dared not look Lily in the eye. "Today is my engagement ceremony with Rex."

Molly was a peculiar person, and Adeline had to do as she said.

Adeline didn't dare to put Sebastian and Bennett at risk. Her response made the entire venue fall silent.

Lily frowned, her voice turning cold. "Adeline, I'm here now. In the Foster family, I make the decisions. No one will harm you. Tell me, who are you really engaged to?"

Lily's imposing aura made Adeline bite her lip hard. She had always thought Lily was a bit muddled and liked to cause trouble. But she hadn't expected Lily to be so imposing when serious.

This aura made Adeline feel that lying in front of her required a lot of courage. But she still braced herself, "Today is my engagement ceremony with Rex."

"Mommy." Lauren, who was in Adeline's arms, struggled to get down.

She took a step back, her eyes wide and filled with hurt. "How can you lie?"

Today was clearly her mommy and daddy's engagement ceremony!

How could it become mommy and that bad man's?

She had even brought Lily to back up her mommy! Why was her mommy still afraid to tell the truth?

Adeline closed her eyes, "I'm not lying, today is."

"Today is her engagement ceremony with Rex." Molly chuckled as she walked over with Bennett, giving Lily a quick glance. "Grandma, long time no see."

Lily frowned and glanced at Molly, about to say something when her gaze suddenly fixed on Bennett beside Molly.

She couldn't help but widen her eyes.

How could this child bear such a striking resemblance to both Blake and Bennett?

She looked at Blake beside Adeline, then at the child beside Molly, almost thinking she was seeing things.

Molly had anticipated Lily's reaction. She smiled lightly, "Grandma, are you surprised?"

She led Bennett to Lily's side, "Grandma, let me introduce you. This is my and Jasper's son, Liam.

"Actually, when Adeline got pregnant with Jasper's child, I was also pregnant.

"Otherwise, Jasper wouldn't have caused Adeline's car accident to try to kill her for me.

"Later, after we got engaged, Jasper didn't like this child anymore, so I gave birth and sent him abroad.

"When Adeline returned to Jasper, I was sent abroad by Jasper and finally reunited with this child."

After speaking, Molly turned and put on a very kind expression. "Come on, Liam, say hi to your great-grandmother!"

Bennett obediently looked up and said, "Great-grandmother."

Hearing that made Lily burst into tears.

That voice, that expression, that look! It was exactly like the deceased Bennett!

Although Blake and Bennett looked identical, their eyes were different!

When Bennett passed away, Lily had been heartbroken for a long time, feeling that the sickly Blake could never replace the sunny and adorable Bennett!

And now, this child in front of her, Molly and Jasper's son, looked almost exactly like Bennett!

If it weren't for Bennett being dead, she would have suspected this was Bennett! She excitedly pulled the little guy into her arms. "Bennett, my good child!"

Held in Lily's arms, Bennett frowned and softly reminded, "Grandma, my name is Liam, not Bennett."

Lily's embrace stiffened slightly.

Bennett took the opportunity to step out of Lily's arms, retreating two steps.

Surprised by the child's sudden departure, Lily looked at him.

Bennett took a deep breath, "I'm sorry, great-grandmother. Because you are all from the Foster family, I resist getting close to you. Sorry."

After speaking, he stepped behind Molly.

Molly smiled awkwardly, "Grandma, look at this child. Because I was abandoned by Jasper, he resents Jasper and has no good feelings towards the Foster family. But don't worry, I'll educate him well when we get home!"

Lily frowned in disappointment.

This child really didn't seem to be Bennett.

But if he wasn't Bennett, who was he? Was he really Molly and Jasper's child?

Thinking of this, Lily frowned and glanced at Jasper sitting in a wheelchair in the distance. "Jasper, what's going on?"

Jasper, who had been silent, finally lifted his eyelids. "It's exactly as you see."

Lily's brows furrowed in anger. "What do you mean by 'exactly as I see'?

"Did you really get Molly and Adeline pregnant at the same time?

"Or did you really plot against Adeline for Molly's child?"

Jasper smirked, "What do you think?"

No one had asked for his opinion on anything that happened tonight. He was too tired to defend himself; he just wanted to see what tricks Molly, Nathan, and Rex had up their sleeves.

His indifferent attitude made Lily furious! "Jasper! You are the current head of the Foster Group, the representative of the Foster family. Do you know if these things aren't explained clearly..."

Before Lily could finish, Nathan quickly stepped in, loudly accusing alongside Lily, "If you don't explain clearly, how can you continue as the president of the Foster Group?"

He then turned to Lily, "Mother, now you understand why I wanted to discipline him? Jasper must explain today's events clearly! Otherwise, people will think all the men in the Foster family are scumbags!"
