Chapter 893 There is also Thomas

Adeline scoured the hospital records room but came up empty-handed. There were no documents about Daisy's childbirth.

She asked the staff again, and they confirmed this was the only records room in the hospital. If Daisy's records existed, they'd be here.

After another fruitless search, Adeline finally gave up.

Leaving the records room, Adeline started to think Linda might be right.

Logically, Daisy's childbirth records should be here.

Since they weren't, someone must have taken them.

If Daisy's childbirth was as straightforward as they claimed, with Patty being born safely, why would the records be missing?

With these doubts, Adeline returned to Linda's hospital room and told her about the missing records.

Just then, Ryan burst in.

"Ma'am, something's happened!"

"I went out to get something for Miss Linda and ran into Daisy!"

Adeline was already looking for Daisy's hospital records and discussing the missing documents with Linda.

Hearing Daisy's name, she naturally thought Daisy was involved in the records issue.

She frowned, "Daisy, she..."

"Daisy's in trouble."

Ryan interrupted Adeline, his voice breathless.

"I saw her covered in blood being rushed into the emergency room. It looks like a serious car accident!"

His words made Adeline's eyes widen in shock.

"She was in a car accident?"

"Yes!"

Ryan nodded quickly.

"She looked like she might not make it..."

Adeline felt her head spin.

How could Daisy suddenly be in trouble?

She bit her lip, pushed Ryan aside, and rushed out of the room towards the emergency room.

She had just started suspecting that Daisy's Patty might be related to her own child. Daisy couldn't die!

At least not before she found out Patty's true identity!

As Adeline reached the elevator, Jasper, David, and Sebastian were just coming down.

Without saying a word, she rushed into the elevator.

David and Sebastian stepped out, but Jasper stayed inside.

Adeline frowned at him.

"Aren't you coming?"

He glanced at her panicked expression and shook his head.

Though he didn't know what was happening, her distress was worrying.

Seeing he wasn't coming, Adeline didn't have time to argue. She closed the elevator door and pressed the button for the first floor.

As soon as the elevator doors opened, Adeline sprinted towards the emergency room.

The doctors who should have been treating Daisy were already shaking their heads as they left the room.

Adeline hurried over and grabbed the arm of the oldest doctor.

"How is Daisy?"

The doctor glanced at Adeline.

"Who are you to her?"

Adeline bit her lip and looked into the emergency room.

Daisy lay weakly on the bed, her face covered in blood, her features blurred, barely breathing.

But her designer dress and jewelry made Adeline recognize her instantly.

Adeline hesitated for a moment, "She's my parents' adopted daughter."

"So she's family?"

The doctor sighed and gently patted Adeline's shoulder.

"Her organs and brain are severely damaged. Even God can't help her now."

"She doesn't have much time left. Since you're family, go in and say goodbye."

Adeline was too shocked to speak.

Just days ago, Daisy had arrogantly visited her in prison, claiming to know the whereabouts of her child.

"Don't waste time."

The doctor glanced at Daisy in the room and sighed.

"She's been looking at you. I believe she has something to say."

Adeline bit her lip and looked into the room.

Sure enough.

Daisy, lying on the bed, was staring at her, her eyes full of unspoken words.

Her upper arm moved slightly, as if beckoning Adeline to come closer.

But her forearm was completely broken, hanging limply by her side, unable to make even the simplest gesture.

The sight made Adeline's heart ache.

Though she often hated Daisy, wanting to see her suffer, now, seeing her like this, Adeline felt a deep pity.

No matter how awful she was, she didn't deserve such a painful, cruel death.

Taking a deep breath, Adeline fought her nausea at the bloody scene and walked in.

Witnessing Giselle's death had left Adeline traumatized, making her legs tremble.

She was a timid woman, instinctively afraid and nauseated by such scenes.

But her pity for Daisy and her desire to know about her child pushed her to suppress these feelings.

Adeline calmly approached Daisy.

"Adeline."

Daisy's voice was weak.

She glanced at Adeline, then at Jasper standing by the door, a bitter smile on her lips.

"I've schemed against others my whole life, never thought I'd end up like this."

"Never thought the ones seeing me off would be you two."

She tried to reach for Adeline's hand, but both her arms were broken, unable to lift.

She could only look at Adeline pleadingly.

"Can you hold me?"

"I'm so cold."

Adeline hesitated but couldn't resist her pleading eyes.

She took off her coat and placed it over Daisy, wrapping her in its warmth, then gently hugged her.

She didn't dare hug too tightly; Daisy was too fragile now, and she feared any pressure might kill her.

"Adeline."

As Adeline hugged her, Daisy struggled to bring her mouth close to Adeline's ear.

"Promise me, after I die, take my ashes back to the Collins family and bury me with Molly, okay?"

Adeline bit her lip, "Okay."

Seeing Adeline agree, Daisy sighed in relief and smiled.

After a moment, she closed her eyes and whispered so only Adeline could hear.

"Be careful of Tamsin, she's not a good person."

"Back then, to please me, she found out I was from the Collins family, helped me contact Molly, and planned to harm you."

"And Thomas."

"Thomas was introduced to us by Tamsin."

"She had worked with Thomas before, she..."
