Chapter 630 What, am I wrong?

Because of Lily, Adeline had no appetite early in the morning.

After making breakfast and calling Blake and Lauren to eat, she went to check on Bennett, and finally brought breakfast to Jasper's room.

Jasper was leaning against the headboard, looking at a medical record in his hand.

Adeline frowned and glanced at the medical record.

It was Lily's.

She paused, set the food on the small table, and looked up at Jasper, "What's wrong with Grandma?"

Jasper put down the medical record and sighed deeply. "Her old illness has relapsed. It's been a while, but she never told me."

Adeline's hand, which was about to feed him chicken soup, paused slightly.

"Is it serious?"

Jasper nodded, a trace of fatigue on his face.

"It happened many years ago during a family feud when she was ambushed. The other side used despicable means, causing Grandma to be bedridden. But to protect the entire Foster family, she didn't get timely treatment. Instead, she used drastic measures to drive the opponent from Radiance Springs to Neon City, and then out of the country. By the time she finished all this, her body was at its limit."

"After I took over the Foster Group, I sought out renowned doctors worldwide for her, but they could only suppress the symptoms," Jasper sighed again, "Her old illness hasn't relapsed in nearly ten years. I don't know why it's flaring up again now, and it's worse than before. She's older now. The doctors say she might not make it through."

Adeline bit her lip, feeding Jasper chicken soup while sighing.

"So Grandma changed her mind and wants to see you and Rex get along while she's still alive? She's afraid that if she's gone and I leave with the kids, you'll be left all alone."

Jasper took a sip of porridge and laughed coldly, "Even if I live alone, I don't need people like Nathan and Rex as my family."

Noticing the stubborn, lonely gleam in Jasper's eyes, Adeline sighed deeply and chose to remain silent.

After he finished, Adeline turned and went downstairs.

Jasper leaned against the headboard, watching Adeline's departing figure, and closed his eyes helplessly.

After cleaning up the dishes, Adeline changed clothes and went to the police station.

Everything went smoothly with the statement and the withdrawal of the lawsuit.

As she was about to leave, Adeline frowned and asked the police officer, "When will Rex be released?"

The officer smiled, "About a month. Besides you, Mr. Jasper Foster also accused him of provocation and intentional injury."

Adeline frowned, "When did that happen?"

"Before you came," the officer replied.

Adeline paused, recalling Lily's words from the morning.

"You should find time to withdraw the lawsuit today. If you really can't accept it, just charge him with intentional injury and let him stay in for a month."

She sighed and left the police station.

Jasper must have guessed she would come to withdraw the lawsuit, so he refiled it before she arrived.

Lily said Rex could be locked up for a month, so Jasper made sure he would be.

This was probably the biggest concession he could make for Lily.

Adeline returned to Blue Bay with mixed feelings.

But she didn't expect that during her short absence, Blue Bay was already crowded with people.

Dozens of reporters were carrying various cameras, taking pictures of the villa.

Molly stood in front of the cameras with her suitcase, laughing heartily.

"Don't worry, everyone. I'm moving into Blue Bay for my son Liam. I will do my best to protect him. The injuries my son suffered from Adeline's abuse are being treated now. If there's any progress, I'll let everyone know. Adeline lives here too. I'm sure she'll target me even more now that I'm here, but for my child's sake, I'm not afraid. If I get bullied or abused later, I'll let everyone know immediately and let public opinion condemn her!"

Sitting in the car, Adeline looked at Molly standing at the villa entrance and couldn't help but snort.

Unable to return home just yet, she instructed the driver to take her to Violet's place.

Violet was furious about Molly beating Bennett and moving into Blue Bay, cursing Molly in Adeline's ear all day.

In the evening, Adeline checked the news and confirmed that the reporters had left before taking a cab back to Blue Bay.

"I told you, this fish soup doesn't taste right! Wasting ingredients, get out of here! I don't know why they hired someone as clumsy as you to be a servant! I'll tell Jasper tomorrow to fire you!"

As soon as Adeline entered, she heard Molly in the kitchen, hands on her hips, angrily scolding Alice.

The usually good-tempered Alice had her head down, tears falling to the floor.

Adeline frowned and walked over, "Alice, what's wrong?"

Alice looked up, and seeing Adeline had returned, she couldn't hold back her tears.

"Miss Molly Collins asked me to make fish soup for Mr. Foster. I bought crucian carp, but she said it wasn't fresh and made me buy it again. I bought it twice more before she was satisfied. I made the fish soup, but she said it didn't taste right and wasted ingredients. Am I wrong?"

Before Alice could finish, Molly coldly interrupted her. "You can't do your job right, but you sure can talk."

Then Molly coldly glanced at Adeline, "Besides, does it matter if you tell her? Sooner or later, I should become the lady of this house. Complaining to Adeline temporarily staying here with her kids, can she really help you?"

Molly's arrogance and pride were evident.

Adeline smiled faintly and wiped Alice's tears, "Go upstairs and take care of Blake and Lauren."

Alice hesitated for a moment, "Blake and Lauren were sent to Lillehammer by Mr. Foster today. He said Lily's health is poor and she doesn't have much time left, so he wants them to accompany her."

Alice's words made Adeline pause.

"What about Bennett?"

"Bennett's condition is serious, so he went to a specialized hospital."

Alice's words instantly relieved Adeline.

She smiled, "Then go rest."

Alice nodded and quickly left.

After she left, Adeline finally couldn't help but look at Molly.

"No wonder you started picking on a servant as soon as you moved in. Since you couldn't find the kids or me, you had nowhere to vent your anger, right?"

Molly narrowed her eyes and glared intensely at Adeline.

"Don't be so smug. In a few days, you'll be sent away with your kids too!"
