Chapter 185 She's Allergic to Celery
Jasper glanced at Stella indifferently, without any emotions in his eyes. "I came to Las Vegas for business."
"Okay."
Stella showed no signs of disappointment and smiled lightly. "That's a coincidence, and I'm staying at this hotel, too."
"When you go back, can I catch a ride with you?"
Jasper glanced at her and said calmly, "If you want to leave, I can arrange a car for you anytime."
He looked at Adeline and said, "Let's go."
After speaking, he left directly.
Adeline frowned and was about to follow, but Stella stopped her.
She looked at Adeline and chuckled, "You just left with Jasper like that..."
"Do you think those two kids will be safe without protection?"
Adeline calmly glanced at her and smiled, "Didn't you see Diana's ending?"
She looked at Stella's pale face and chuckled, "Jasper has already announced that he wants a divorce from you."
"You want to hurt Jasper's children at this time just to get a divorce faster?"
After saying that, she left gracefully.
She knew that Stella's words were just meant to provoke her.
If she wanted to hurt Bennett and Lauren, she wouldn't have waited until now.
Standing at the entrance of the hotel, Stella watched as Adeline walked away, narrowing her eyes maliciously.
Picking up her phone, she dialed a number.
"They've left."
The voice of the woman on the other end trembled, "Miss Collins, is this really okay?"
"Although you and I look a bit alike, Jasper is not a fool!"
Stella sneered, "What do you think? I've been spreading rumors about my obsession with plastic surgery for all these years?"
"In the eyes of others, Evelyn is now just someone obsessed with cosmetic procedures, with a changing appearance every day. With such an identity, your face is enough to deceive anyone."
...
At the luxurious and magnificent Quinn Manor.
Adeline got out of the car and looked up to survey the mansion in front of her.
As someone who grew up in Las Vegas, she had always known about the Quinn family's economic strength.
But when she actually stood at the entrance of the Quinn Manor, she finally understood why Ethan said that only Evelyn could match up with Jasper.
The luxury level of the Quinn Manor could rival that of the Foster Manor.
"Mr. Foster, Miss Wilson."
The butler of the Quinn family came out and skillfully led the two of them into the mansion.
In the main hall of the mansion, there stood a beautiful woman.
Seeing them come in, the woman smiled lightly and approached, "Jasper."
Jasper furrowed his brows, "Who are you?"
"I am Evelyn."
The woman smiled faintly and touched her face with her hand, "I've changed a bit these years, so it's normal that you don't recognize me."
Adeline was speechless, shocked by what she saw.
But upon closer inspection, she could still see the resemblance to the Evelyn of the past in this woman's facial features.
But her gaze... was completely different now.
The old Evelyn's most distinctive feature was her aggressive eyes.
She was the Quinn family's heiress, pampered and arrogant from a young age.
But the gaze of the woman in front of her was meek and submissive, resembling someone who had endured years of suffering at the bottom of society.
Jasper seemed much calmer than Adeline. He shook hands with Evelyn and briefly introduced Adeline before asking, "Where is Mr. Quinn?"
"My father is busy preparing for the cocktail party," Evelyn replied.
After glancing at the time, Evelyn said, "It's now after 1.00 p.m. The party starts at 4.00 p.m. You two can have something to eat here and rest for a while."
Jasper paused and said, "But just a moment ago, on the phone, someone from the Quinn family said they were preparing a luncheon for me."
"Yes," Evelyn calmly smiled and led Jasper and Adeline toward the restaurant. "My father prepared the evening cocktail party for you. The luncheon is what I prepared for you."
"But you kept saying you wanted to meet me before," Jasper said, following her to the table in the restaurant, not saying anything else.
"It seems Miss Wilson is an elite. Mr. Foster always wants to have you by his side wherever he goes," Evelyn remarked, changing the subject.
Adeline coughed lightly and said, "Mr. Foster brought me here to broaden my horizons."
"She's a designer," Jasper said elegantly as he ate. "In the field of jewelry design, she is indeed exceptional."
Evelyn smirked. "Capable people are always likable."
After speaking, she carefully sized Adeline up and down. "If given the opportunity, I would be thrilled to engage in a discussion with the designer of the Quinn family and Miss Wilson."
Adeline furrowed her eyebrows and was about to speak when she noticed the hatred in Evelyn's eyes.
That kind of bitter light in her eyes made Adeline's heart tremble slightly.
If she remembered correctly, this was the first time she, as Adeline, had met Evelyn.
Why did this woman have such animosity towards her?
This animosity seemed even stronger than when Evelyn caused a scene at her and Jasper's wedding.
Soon, the meal was finished.
After the meal, Adeline and Jasper didn't stay and rest at the Quinn Manor. Using the excuse of having business matters to attend to, Jasper and Adeline left together.
As soon as they got into the car, Jasper closed his eyes and leaned back on the backseat, casually saying, "Take her to the mall and then take me to the hotel."
Adeline was stunned.
"Why am I going to the mall?"
Without even opening his eyes, Jasper replied, "Do you think the clothes you're wearing are suitable for the cocktail party at the Quinn Manor?"
Adeline subconsciously glanced at her own suit pants and white shirt.
They didn't seem... not fitting.
"Go buy a suitable evening gown and freshen up a bit."
Ten minutes later, Adeline was left at the entrance of the mall.
Jasper threw her a black card, "This unlimited credit card. Remember to repay me after using it."
After saying that, he directly closed the car door, and the black Maserati sped away.
Standing in place, Adeline rolled her eyes silently in the direction he left.
After a while, she hailed a taxi on the side of the road and went to the mall.
...
At 4.00p.m, the Quinn family hosted a cocktail party for Jasper at the largest five-star hotel in Las Vegas.
Jasper attended the event in formal attire and was accompanied by Adeline.
Upon entering, Morris enthusiastically took Jasper to catch up with a group of business partners.
Adeline wandered alone, feeling bored.
Just as she took a few steps, she saw Stella.
At the time, Stella was wearing a light purple evening gown, standing in the center of the venue, talking to Evelyn.
From the way they chatted, they seemed very familiar with each other.
Adeline instinctively furrowed her brows.
Stella and Evelyn know each other?
One is a person who has always stayed abroad and only recently returned from overseas, living in Denver.
The other is rarely seen, has undergone numerous plastic surgeries, and lives in Las Vegas.
Do these two people actually know each other?
While Adeline was secretly shocked as she looked in their direction, Stella suddenly looked up and glanced back at her.
They locked eyes.
Adeline was taken aback and planned to shift her gaze.
But Stella smiled at her coldly.
"Adeline?"
Suddenly, an unfamiliar female voice rang in her ear.
Adeline furrowed her brows and subconsciously turned her head to look.
Linda Taylor, her high school classmate, stood in front of her wearing a red evening gown.
Adeline needed clarification.
Although Linda and she had a good relationship during high school, her face and name are different now. How could Linda recognize her?
Just as Adeline hesitated about whether to greet her, Linda raised her hand directly.
With a crisp sound, Linda's slap landed firmly on Adeline's face.
