Chapter 827 You Are More Valuable Than Him

Adeline and Oscar were chatting about her favorite jewelry designs before moving on to Sebastian's paintings.

Oscar mentioned that he really liked Sebastian's work and hoped Adeline could introduce them, "Look, I know he's into women. I just genuinely admire his art and want to buy some pieces."

Adeline knew Oscar came from a wealthy background, and she couldn't pass up the chance to help a friend make some money.

So, while chatting with Oscar, she contacted Sebastian and eventually helped facilitate a transaction between them.

After dinner, as they stepped out of Lucky Restaurant, it was pouring rain outside.

Oscar offered to drive Adeline home. Despite her repeated refusals, she eventually got into his car.

Standing by the third-floor window, Jasper watched Adeline get into Oscar's car, his eyes narrowing sharply.

He found it hard to believe that the same Adeline who had called him last night, distressed over their child, was now happily chatting with a date and even letting him drive her home!

"Mr. Foster, should we send someone to protect Mrs. Foster?"

"The rain is pouring outside, and Mrs. Foster is alone with that stranger. I'm worried..."

"Worried about what? She doesn't seem to be!"

Jasper scoffed, gripping his wine glass tightly, "Let her be."

Adeline knew Howard and Daisy wanted her to date someone from Everglade City to get her out of Oceancrest City, and she had agreed.

Jasper understood she didn't want to be involved in the Phoebe, Torres, and Foster family conflicts, but their child's situation was still unresolved, and she was already eager to leave?

Jasper took a deep breath and closed his eyes.

"Mr. Wheeler, it seems we're being followed."

Oscar's car had been driving through the rain for a while when the driver, gripping the steering wheel and glancing at the rearview mirror, spoke nervously, "And those cars following us have Everglade City plates. Could it be..."

Oscar, sitting in the passenger seat, furrowed his brows and was about to check the mirror when the black car behind them suddenly rammed into their bumper!

With a loud crash, their car swerved into a roadside barrier.

The driver clung to the steering wheel but couldn't straighten the car's direction.

Another violent collision, and the car stalled completely.

Adeline, sitting in the back seat, was thrown around by the impact, her forehead hitting the seat repeatedly, causing a cut and various injuries.

She bit her lip and looked at Oscar in the passenger seat. "Mr. Wheeler, what's going on?"

"Probably my enemies from Everglade City."

He squinted, "Didn't expect them to track me down here."

He turned to Adeline, "Don't worry, their target is me. They won't trouble you."

Adeline pursed her lips and glanced out the window at the menacing figures approaching. "Are you sure they won't trouble me?"

As she spoke, she discreetly took out her phone, snapped pictures of the surroundings through the shattered window, and sent them to Oliver.

Just as she finished sending the message, Adeline and Oscar were dragged out of the car by the men.

Her phone fell inside the car.

Outside, the rain was relentless.

The group of men shoved Adeline and Oscar into a van, driving them to an abandoned warehouse outside Oceancrest City.

When they were thrown out of the van, Adeline and Oscar were already tightly bound.

The warehouse reeked of dampness and rust.

A single dim light flickered inside, and lightning from outside occasionally illuminated the space, casting a ghostly glow.

They were tossed onto the weed-covered ground.

"Mr. Wheeler, you finally fell into my hands."

A burly, bald man in a leather jacket sat on a distant sofa, sipping wine and glancing coldly at Adeline and Oscar. "No wonder you left Everglade City for Oceancrest City. It's for this pretty woman."

He sneered, circling Adeline twice before squatting down and gripping her chin:

"Such a beautiful woman, why date a man like Mr. Wheeler?"

"Don't you think I'm more of a man than him?"

His eyes gleamed with greed. "How about spending the night with me?"

"Isaiah! Your grudge is with me, don't trouble this woman."

Oscar frowned and shouted, "She's from Oceancrest City, her family is influential here. Don't touch her!"

Isaiah laughed, grabbing Adeline's neck with one hand and pinching her face with the other:

"What's this, Mr. Wheeler? Worried about this woman?"

"Just one meal together and you're so protective. I didn't know you were such a romantic."

Isaiah's sweaty, wine-soaked fingers brushed Adeline's face, making her nearly gag.

She instinctively recoiled from his touch. "You know we just met. Why drag me into this?"

"You hit it off with him, didn't you?"

Isaiah sneered, continuing to grip Adeline and pinching her face. "And you saw us capture him."

"What if you go back and call for help?"

He smirked, "Know what? In Everglade City, anyone who sees us capture someone..."

He drew a line across Adeline's neck.

Isaiah's fierce gaze and actions chilled Adeline's heart.

These men were like David's, ruthless and dangerous.

She knew her chances of survival tonight were slim, just like Oscar's.

"Isaiah."

Oscar took a deep breath, "Let her go, let's settle our score."

"What makes you think you can negotiate with me?"

Isaiah sneered, pulling out a knife and slashing Oscar's arm.

Oscar grunted in pain as a deep wound appeared on his right arm.

Adeline bit her lip, watching Oscar, barely daring to breathe.

"Don't worry, I won't treat you like that."

Isaiah laughed, taking a pill from his subordinate and forcing it into Adeline's mouth.

Adeline knew it couldn't be anything good and struggled not to swallow.

Isaiah tried to force the pill into her mouth, but she resisted, so he slapped her hard.

Adeline's head spun, and she spat blood.

Isaiah took advantage of her dazed state to shove the pill down her throat.

Afterward, he threw her to the ground.

"What did you make me take?"

Lying on the ground, Adeline weakly asked.

"Something to help you endure a night with my men."

Isaiah smirked, sitting back in his chair. "Someone's willing to pay two million dollars to see you humiliated all night, and another three million for your life."

He glanced at Oscar, "You're worth more than him."
