Chapter 366 I Heard You and I Are Quite Close

"Because of six years ago, I used to be afraid of you." Adeline said.

"Maybe before, when you threatened me, I would have really been scared."

She smiled, elegantly taking her glass and sipping from it. "But now, do you think I'm still afraid?"

She had already lost Bennett; she was about to lose Blake, and even Lauren had become withdrawn and depressed.

Could things get any worse for her?

Moreover, sometimes Adeline wondered if everything would have been different had she been braver back then, directly confronting Thomas instead of ignoring his stalking and presence.

So now, she decided to deal with him.

To make Thomas and Jasper pay the price they deserved!

"Thomas, what do you think of this?" Mia asked.

Just as the tension between Adeline and Thomas was rising, Mia came running over excitedly, showing off the diamond ring on her finger to them. "I absolutely love this!"

Adeline frowned and glanced at it, then smiled. "It was designed by me."

Mia's eyes widened instantly. "Wow!"

She grabbed Thomas's arm excitedly. "Adeline is amazing!"

Thomas barely frowned, nodding perfunctorily. "Very impressive."

Mia didn't notice his unease and excitedly pulled him to try on the ring.

With nothing to do, Adeline greeted Mia and started wandering around the mall.

"Do you think Jasper would like this pure white dress?"

As she reached the entrance of a women's clothing store, a sweet voice rang out.

Hearing the familiar name, Adeline frowned and stopped in her tracks.

She instinctively looked towards the store and saw a slender figure standing inside.

Luna Jones was wearing a white cotton-linen dress, her black hair cascading down to her waist.

Even from behind, she had a pitiful aura.

Standing next to her was Hazel Patel, who laughed lightly. "Ms. Jones looks good in anything."

Luna paused, her voice soft. "Today is my first time meeting him; I want to make a good impression."

"He will definitely be impressed by you."

Listening to their conversation, Adeline sneered and turned to leave.

Although a jerk, Jasper's face and wealth had him never lacking women blind to his flaws.

After wandering for a while, Mia called.

Mia and Thomas had chosen a ring and were ready to have lunch.

They wanted her to join them. Adeline readily agreed.

Although Thomas had almost revealed his true colors to her earlier, if she wanted Mia to give up on him...

She gripped the recorder in her pocket.

This wasn't enough.

Lunch was at a place Mia chose in the mall; the famous Royal Elegance Dining.

Walking inside, Adeline felt a surge of emotions.

The last time she was here, it was with Sebastian.

Thinking of this, her hands clenched into fists at her sides.

They didn't choose a private room, but found a table by the window.

Just after ordering, Adeline noticed a group of people coming down from the second floor.

Among them, Foster stood out distinguishedly.

The people around him were fawning over him. "Mr. Foster, thank you for dining with us."

"Mr. Foster, I didn't expect to see you here."

"Mr. Foster, do you like shopping here? If you do, we can accompany you."

The sight of several men jostling for position made Adeline involuntarily furrow her brows.

She thought of Luna. Why did both men and women desperately cling to Jasper?

Jasper's facade was too perfect.

Sensing her gaze, Foster frowned and looked in her direction.

Their eyes met.

She frowned and quickly looked away.

Jasper squinted, glanced at Adeline, then at Mia and Thomas beside her.

He had come here to figure out the three people's relationship.

But as soon as he arrived at the mall, he was entangled by these people.

What a coincidence; they were eating here too.

Foster smiled faintly, glancing at the men around him. "I have some personal matters to attend to."

The men exchanged glances, then bid Jasper farewell and quickly left.

After they left, Jasper smiled and walked over to their table, sitting next to Adeline. "Mind if I join you?"

"I mind." Adeline frowned and said coldly.

Mia froze. "I don't mind!"

She then glanced at Adeline and lowered her voice to Jasper. "Did you two fight?"

Because of Thomas, Mia hated Adeline.

So after learning that Adeline was in a coma, she visited the hospital almost every other day to check if she had woken up.

For over a month, every time she went to see Adeline, she would see Jasper quietly keeping vigil by her bedside.

Although it was inappropriate for Mia to comment on their relationship, she knew that if Foster didn't truly love Adeline he wouldn't have stayed by her side for so long.

But now, Adeline clearly didn't want to deal with Jasper.

"No." Jasper said.

He elegantly picked up the coffee pot and poured coffee into Adeline's cup. "She's just in a bad mood."

"I heard you two are getting married."

He glanced at Thomas. "Congratulations on winning the beauty."

Thomas coughed lightly. "I have to thank Mr. Foster for your help."

Jasper raised an eyebrow. "When did I help you?"

He crossed his arms and leaned back in his chair. "As far as I remember, we have no connection."

"No, not exactly. When you tried to assassinate Adeline near her house, I was the one who caught you."

"Right?"

Jasper's words made Adeline frown.

Was Jasper deliberately saying he wasn't familiar with Thomas in front of her?

At this point, did he think she was still as foolish as before?

She pursed her lips and instinctively glanced at Thomas.

Thomas's face turned pale. "Yes."

Afraid of revealing their unfamiliarity in front of Adeline, he quickly turned away. "Mr. Foster, are you here for business today?"

"Yes and no." Jasper replied.

He easily saw the panic in Thomas's eyes.

"Business is secondary."

He smiled with slight mockery as he looked at Thomas. "I came specifically to find you."

"I heard we're quite familiar."

"We've known each other for six years."
