Chapter 871 Mr. Foster Asked Us to Come
Jasper hung up the phone with the cops and closed his eyes, feeling wiped out.
He hadn't expected the case to be cracked so fast.
The police had already traced the fingerprint to Randy, but one fingerprint wasn't enough to nail Randy as the killer.
They didn't want to tip Randy off, so they were quietly gathering more evidence.
Jasper had thought Adeline would be locked up for at least a week.
During that time, Oliver would handle all the Phoebe Group's business.
Adeline wouldn't have to face the public or deal with the issues herself; she could safely remain the president of the Phoebe Group.
But now, things had changed.
Jasper rubbed his temples in frustration.
Sensing Jasper's mood, Ryan quickly wrapped up the meeting.
After everyone had left, Ryan gently closed the conference room door and cautiously approached Jasper, speaking in a low voice.
"Sir, the police have started the arrest operation."
"If you still want Madam to stay in jail, we can tip off Randy and help him escape."
"If the police can't catch him, Madam will remain locked up."
Jasper narrowed his eyes slightly and gave Ryan a cold look.
"To keep Adeline in jail, you want me to become an accomplice to the Torres family?"
Ryan froze and quickly shut his mouth.
"I misspoke."
Jasper sighed, "Maybe it's fate."
The future he had planned for Adeline never went according to his design.
Maybe it was meant to be that she would become the president of the Phoebe Group now, standing in opposition to him.
With that thought, he took a deep breath, "Cancel all my afternoon appointments."
Ryan paused.
"Are you going to see Madam?"
"No."
Jasper stood up gracefully and adjusted his suit jacket.
"I'm going home to video chat with the kids."
Ryan fell silent.
For the past six months, whenever Jasper was feeling down, he would go home, lock himself in a small room, and secretly watch his three children through surveillance.
It was his way of venting and stabilizing his emotions.
Oceancrest City Sunrise Hospital.
Randy, who had just finished getting his finger treated, was pulled aside by two men in black as he left the hospital room.
"Mr. Torres."
The men spoke in hushed tones.
"The police are on their way to arrest you. We're here on Mr. Foster's orders to help you escape."
Randy's brow furrowed deeply.
"The police are after me?"
"Mr. Foster? Jasper!"
The men nodded.
"Mr. Foster just received word that the police are on their way. They've found evidence of your assault on Giselle."
Randy's face turned pale instantly.
At that moment, loud sirens blared outside.
Randy froze, his body trembling uncontrollably, "Why would Jasper help me?"
"Because if you're not caught, Adeline has to stay in jail."
"Mr. Foster doesn't want her to get out."
With that, the men took a deep breath and grabbed Randy, "Let's go!"
Randy bit his lip, hesitating, but the sirens grew louder, indicating the police were already at the hospital entrance.
In the urgency of the situation, Randy had no choice but to follow the men in black.
They led him to a restroom, quickly changed into janitor uniforms, and had Randy hide in a trash bin, covering him with garbage before wheeling the bin out.
Crouched inside, Randy endured the stench while listening intently to the sounds outside.
Sure enough.
Soon, he heard the disciplined footsteps of the police.
Along with the footsteps came their voices.
"We've got a tip that Randy is in this hospital."
"He shouldn't have left yet. Execute Plan A. Jack, you knock on the door..."
The officers' conversation made Randy break out in a cold sweat.
The two janitors wheeled the trash bin out the back door of the hospital.
Just as Randy thought he was safe.
"Wait."
A man's voice suddenly rang out.
Followed by a flurry of footsteps.
The police captain led a group straight towards the trash bin.
"What's in here?"
"Trash."
"Trash?"
The captain sneered, "There should be a person in here, right?"
With that, he lifted the lid of the trash bin.
Inside was Randy's shocked face.
"Move!"
Before Randy could react, the men in black pulled him out of the bin and quickly dragged him into a car.
The captain narrowed his eyes.
"Chase them!"
Several police cars sped after the getaway car through the city streets.
"Thank you."
Sitting in the back seat, Randy wiped the garbage off himself, still shaken.
"If it weren't for you two, I'd be caught by the police now."
The two men exchanged a glance and laughed.
"No need to thank us. We're just doing our job. If you want to thank someone, thank Mr. Foster."
"Mr. Foster may have always been an enemy of the Torres family, but he still spent a lot of money to hire us to save you."
Randy bit his lip.
He knew Jasper wasn't saving him out of kindness.
It was because if he got caught, Adeline would be released.
Jasper was ruthless enough to prefer Adeline stay in jail rather than let her become the president of the Phoebe Group.
But regardless of Jasper's motives, he had indeed sent people to save him.
Compared to Brandon, Fiona, and the other Torres family members.
Randy sighed, "I can't let Jasper's effort go to waste."
"Tell Jasper that his and Adeline's child isn't dead. I swapped the baby on Brandon's orders."
The men in black furrowed their brows, acknowledged, and eventually lost the police.
Finally, they took Randy to a basement.
"This place is safe. Wait here while we get you some supplies."
Randy nodded quickly, feeling relieved as he waited in the room, appreciating Jasper's thorough planning.
After a while, there was a knock on the basement door.
Thinking the men had returned, Randy hurried to open it.
But to his surprise, standing outside was...
