Chapter 745 Mr. Torres, Thank You

Adeline's words hit Jason. His hands clenched into fists at his sides.

What could Jasper possibly do for her?

If it weren't for Jasper's strict instructions to keep his hospitalization a secret, Jason would have dragged Adeline back to Radiance Springs by now!

He wanted her to see the intensive care unit, to see what Jasper had done for her!

For her mother, the madam of the Phoebe family, Jasper had risked his life to find a rare medicinal herb on the cliffs of Lillehammer, despite the longstanding feud between the Foster and Phoebe families.

Jasper's selfless efforts were met with Adeline's cold remark, "What else can he do for me besides hurt me?"

Taking a deep breath, Jason looked Adeline in the eye. "I know you've been in contact with the Phoebe family. Why don't you ask that pharmacist named Dennis? I gave him something as soon as I got off the plane today. Once you find out what it is, you'll understand how much Jasper has done for you."

Jason took another deep breath. "My private jet has been waiting for me for two hours. I need to get back to Radiance Springs. They need me there."

With that, Jason turned and left without looking back.

Adeline stood there, watching Jason's retreating figure, her nails digging into her palms.

She didn't know if she should believe Jason this time.

Although she hadn't believed Jason's words about Jasper during her previous visits to Radiance Springs, she later found out that everything he said was true.

So, this time, could he actually be telling the truth?

What was the connection between Jasper and that pharmacist named Dennis?

"Adeline, I think you should believe him this time," Mia said, walking over. "Let's call Oliver tomorrow and ask Dennis. Then we'll know."

She draped a coat over Adeline's shoulders. "It's late. You just had a miscarriage. Don't catch a cold."

Adeline nodded and headed upstairs.

No one knew that Adeline had hesitated for a long time before deciding not to take the abortion pills Mia had bought for her.

She had flushed the tiny pills down the toilet.

She didn't want to end a life, but it wasn't for Jasper.

That night, Adeline slept fitfully.

She dreamt of Jasper dying in various ways—drowning, car accidents, gunshots, falling off cliffs.

When she woke up the next morning, she was drenched in cold sweat.

Adeline had just finished washing up and was trying to calm herself when Mia's excited knocking sounded at the door.

"Adeline, your mom is going to be okay!"

Adeline furrowed her brows and quickly opened the door. "What?"

Outside, Mia was practically glowing with excitement. "I got in touch with Joseph, and through him, I found Oliver. He said your mom's poison can actually be cured. Dennis had already developed the antidote but was missing one crucial ingredient! Someone delivered that ingredient to Dennis last night! He worked all night and finally finished the medicine this morning. They're on their way to the hospital to give it to your mom right now!"

Mia grabbed Adeline's shoulders, her excitement palpable. "I get it now! Jason meant last night that he went straight to find Dennis when he got to Oceancrest City. He must've been the one who delivered that crucial herb to Dennis! And that herb must've been found by Jasper!"

Adeline stared at Mia, her joy spreading across her face.

Mia pulled her into the car.

From Magnolia Estate to the hospital, Adeline's hands were tightly clasped together, her palms sweating with excitement.

So, Jasper really had changed.

He hadn't notified her and had returned to Radiance Springs overnight to find the herb that could cure her mother!

She remembered Lauren calling to say that Jasper had gone to find something important.

So, the important thing he mentioned was the herb for her mom?

Adeline closed her eyes, her emotions a tangled mess.

She knew Jasper had a grudge against the Phoebe family.

He wouldn't help just to please them; he did it for her.

He didn't want her to return to the Phoebe family out of responsibility for Zara, so he chose to help their enemy!

Throughout the drive, Adeline watched the scenery outside the window, her heart floating on a cloud.

Jasper really was different now!

She would never again say that Jasper didn't care about her or their child!

Soon, they arrived at the hospital.

Mia pulled Adeline out of the car and up the stairs.

As soon as they stepped out of the elevator, they saw someone who shouldn't have been there—Brandon.

Brandon was elegantly seated in a wheelchair, dressed in black, his legs still bandaged.

When Adeline saw Brandon, her excitement froze on her face.

She bit her lip and greeted him politely, "Brandon, what are you doing here?"

"I heard Mrs. Phoebe might finally wake up. I was excited and came to see," he said with a smile. "What, not welcome?"

Adeline forced a smile. "Of course not..."

She looked into the hospital room.

Dennis and Oliver were on either side of Zara, feeding her the medicine.

Howard, the man Zara had loved and couldn't let go of her whole life, stood outside the room, watching silently.

Seeing him, Adeline couldn't help but sneer inwardly.

This was a crucial moment for Zara.

Yet Howard, the man she married, couldn't even bring himself to be by her side.

Was he afraid, unwilling, or unable?

Whatever the reason, Adeline despised him.

After giving Howard a cold look, Adeline turned her attention back to the scene inside the room.

Soon, the bowl of medicine was finished.

A few minutes later, Zara's pale face began to regain color.

Ten minutes later, she opened her eyes and said something.

One sentence, and the two men in the room clasped each other's hands in excitement.

They had succeeded!

Zara's poison was cured!

"That's wonderful!" Mia grabbed Adeline's hand, her eyes filled with relief.

Adeline knew Mia was happy for her and for Jasper!

Once Zara was fully recovered, she would stay with Jasper.

"Mr. Torres, thank you."

As Adeline and Mia celebrated, Howard shook Brandon's hand.

"If it weren't for you, Zara wouldn't have woken up."
