Chapter 835 Is It Really Him?

Adeline spun around, eyes wide with shock as she stared at Daisy, who was kneeling on the ground.

"You know where my child's body is?"

Seeing Adeline's reaction, Daisy felt a weight lift off her shoulders. As long as Adeline was interested, Daisy had leverage to ensure Adeline would go easy on her.

Taking a deep breath, Daisy nodded quickly. "Yeah, I know where your child's body is, and I know who took it."

"If you find the body, you can do a DNA test. Then you'll know if that really was your child and whether your real child is dead or alive."

She took another deep breath, her gaze fixed on Adeline. "Just don't report what happened yesterday and let me get through my wedding tomorrow smoothly, and I'll tell you."

Oliver, standing nearby, let out a cold laugh. Daisy hadn't learned much about business from Brandon over the past six months, but she had certainly picked up the skill of using people's concerns against them.

He raised an eyebrow at Adeline. "Don't listen to her crap."

But Adeline was staring intently at Daisy, considering her words. After a long moment, she nodded. "Alright, I agree."

"I'll wait for your message after the wedding tomorrow."

With that, she turned and walked into the courtyard.

"Thank you!" Daisy remained kneeling, watching Adeline's figure disappear from view before she smirked and got up.

Behind her, Oliver gave her a cold look. "Using a mother's concern for her child to threaten her. How low can you go?"

Daisy shrugged, her face still swollen but devoid of the previous remorse and shame. She stretched lazily and looked at Oliver with indifference. "That's why people shouldn't have weaknesses."

"Adeline's weakness is her family, her child."

She raised an eyebrow. "If she didn't care about her child, how could I possibly threaten her?"

Oliver narrowed his eyes. "Don't you have family and children?"

Daisy couldn't help but laugh at the question. "Family? After Molly died, I had no family."

"I never considered the Collins couple in Neon City as family. They were too poor, not worthy of me."

"And children?"

"I've never given birth, so how could I..."

She abruptly stopped mid-sentence.

Oliver's lips curled into a smug smile. "You just said you've never given birth?"

Alarm bells rang in Daisy's mind. She coughed lightly. "Of course I've given birth. Patty is my child."

"But I just wasn't very good at it when she was born."

Oliver toyed with his lighter, a mocking smile on his lips. "Eight months of pregnancy, even if Patty was premature, you wouldn't forget giving birth, would you?"

He leaned in closer, lowering his voice. "There's a technique that can determine if you've ever given birth by examining certain organs."

"Want to give it a try?"

Daisy's face turned pale with fear. She bit her lip, her voice trembling. "Why would I need to try something like that? It's pointless!"

With that, she fled to her red sports car, quickly starting the engine and speeding away.

Oliver leaned against the car door, his eyes cold as he watched her leave, a smirk playing on his lips.

Through the rearview mirror, Daisy saw his expression and eyes clearly. She bit her lip hard, her eyes narrowing.

Oliver definitely knew something!

Yesterday morning in Howard's hospital room, he had casually suggested she take Patty for a paternity test. Today, he wanted to check if she had ever been pregnant!

Damn it!

She would deal with him sooner or later!

Back at the courtyard, Adeline knocked on Linda's door to let her know she was safe, then went to check on Zara in the side room.

The wounds on Zara's back, where the rotting flesh had been scraped away, were starting to show signs of new growth after two days of care.

The new maid reported to Adeline respectfully, detailing how she had cleaned Zara's body, massaged her limbs, applied medication, and fed her several times throughout the night.

The maid's report was meticulous, down to the exact second.

Seeing the maid's nervous demeanor, Adeline waved her hand. "No need to read it all."

The maid quickly closed the notebook. "Is there anything else you need, Ms. Wilson?"

Adeline narrowed her eyes at the maid. "Did Linda hire you?"

After the incident with the previous maid, Oliver had replaced all the staff in Adeline's courtyard, with Linda overseeing the new hires.

Linda's family used to run a hotel, so she was quite skilled at selecting staff. But Adeline doubted Linda could find someone so attentive and considerate.

The maid was silent for a moment before looking up. "Ms. Wilson, I know I can't fool you, and I don't want to."

"I wasn't hired by Ms. Linda Phoebe. Mr. Jasper Foster personally selected me from a hundred candidates, and Mr. David Stonehaven introduced me to Ms. Linda Phoebe."

She sighed. "I know you have issues with Mr. Jasper Foster, but his only request was that I take good care of you."

The maid bit her lip. "If you don't trust me, you can reassign me. I can work in the front yard. I can accept that."

Adeline looked at the maid's sensible demeanor and rubbed her temples in resignation. "You're too smart to waste on gardening."

She gave the maid a steady look. "You know what happened to the last maid who tampered with my mother's care, right?"

"I won't fire you just because Jasper chose you. Keep doing your job well."

With that, she wearily sank into a chair. "You can go now."

The maid nodded respectfully and left.

As the door to the side room closed, Adeline sighed and walked over to hold Zara's hand.

"Mom, was it really Jasper who hurt you?"

"Can you wake up and tell me yourself?"

The incident with the ointment had made it clear that Jasper wouldn't harm Zara anymore. If he had wanted to, Brandon and the others wouldn't have had the chance to frame him.

But what about eight months ago?

Was it really him?

Just then, there was a knock on the door.

"Ms. Wilson, there's a visitor. Someone we've never seen before."
