Chapter 778 If I Had Known Today, Why Bother in the First Place

Daisy, who had been shoved back into her chair, glared up at Oliver, her eyes blazing with anger.

"I don't feel like drinking anymore!"

"You can't make me!"

Oliver sneered, "Make you?"

His gaze was icy as he stared at Daisy. "Weren't you just forcing Adeline to drink with you? And now you're saying I'm making you?"

Daisy's face went pale.

Her lips trembled. "I... I just don't feel well."

"But didn't you just say you had something urgent to do?"

Oliver placed the glass of wine right in front of Daisy. "You were dragging Adeline to her room to drink, and now you're making excuses..."

He glanced at the decanter with the two mixed bottles of wine, a cold smile on his lips.

"Did you poison one of the bottles, so now you're scared to drink?"

With that, Oliver pulled out his phone. "If that's the case, I should call Dad."

"Let him see for himself how his most beloved adopted daughter is drugging his biological daughter."

Daisy snatched the phone from Oliver's hand.

The phone hit the table with a loud bang. "Fine, I'll drink!"

She grabbed the glass and downed it.

After all, it was just a drug that made people crave more, not something that would kill her!

If that jerk Oliver really brought Howard back, and they tested the wine... she might lose Howard's support!

She knew what was more important.

After finishing the wine, Daisy looked up at Oliver.

"Oliver, weren't you going to drink with me?"

"I've finished mine. If you don't drink, isn't that disrespectful?"

She poured herself another glass and pushed the two glasses Oliver had poured earlier towards him.

Daisy clinked her glass against Oliver's.

"Oliver, drink up."

"I've already drunk mine. Are you too scared to drink? When did you become such a coward?"

Since Oliver had forced her to drink the spiked wine, she wasn't going to let him off easy!

Oliver narrowed his eyes, giving Daisy a cold look before finally picking up his glass and downing it.

Maybe he and Adeline had overthought it.

If Daisy dared to drink like this, maybe the wine really wasn't poisoned.

So, Daisy and Oliver continued to drink, one glass after another, until all the wine was gone.

Adeline hadn't touched a drop the entire time.

Daisy hadn't forgotten her goal for the night.

She poured a small amount into a glass and handed it to Adeline.

"Oliver and I have drunk so much. You should at least have a little, right?"

Adeline narrowed her eyes, silently placing the small glass on the table. "I'll drink it later."

She wasn't good with alcohol, and she was pregnant, so she couldn't drink at all.

Daisy wasn't good with alcohol either.

After a few glasses, she was already quite drunk.

She even picked up the glass Adeline had placed on the table and drank it herself.

After a while, she glanced at the empty glass in front of Adeline and smiled. Adeline had finally drunk!

She quickly started acting drunk, asking Oliver to take her out of Adeline's room so Adeline could rest.

"I don't really want to rest."

Adeline sighed, looking at Daisy, who was slumped on the floor, and instructed a servant to take Daisy back to her room. Then she turned to Oliver.

"Can you take me out for a walk?"

Oliver nodded, grabbing his coat and draping it over Adeline's shoulders before leading her out the door.

In a room on the second floor, a drunken Daisy leaned against the window, watching Oliver's car drive away, cursing under her breath.

"Annoying!"

She pulled out her phone and called Brandon.

"Adeline has passed out in her room. Come quickly!"

Brandon smiled on the other end of the line. "Alright."

He hadn't expected Daisy to actually get Adeline drunk.

But it seemed Zara's situation had really upset Adeline, making her agree to drink with Daisy.

Brandon smiled again, taking the pills Randy had prepared for him on his way to the Phoebe Mansion.

It had been too long since he'd been with a woman. The last time was six years ago with Daisy... so he was worried he might not perform well.

Soon, his car arrived at the Phoebe Mansion.

With the help of a servant, Oliver wheeled himself to the second floor... Oliver and Adeline drove around the outskirts of Oceancrest City.

He spoke gently and earnestly about the city's attractions and his past experiences with Zara in Oceancrest City.

Sitting in the back seat, Adeline felt a warmth in her heart as she listened to Oliver's stories.

Although Oliver wasn't Zara's biological son, she could feel his admiration and respect for Zara through his words.

"I don't feel well, my head hurts."

Oliver frowned, glancing at Adeline through the rearview mirror. "Should we go back?"

Adeline shook her head. "I don't really want to go home."

The Phoebe Mansion always made her feel stifled.

After a moment's thought, she said, "Let's go to Magnolia Estate."

She hadn't seen Mia in a long time.

She had so much on her mind that she wanted to talk to Mia about.

And if Oliver wasn't feeling well, he could rest and have some milk at Mia's place.

Mia was great at massages and could help with headaches.

Hearing Adeline mention Magnolia Estate, Oliver's brow furrowed slightly.

"Your friend... hasn't left Oceancrest City yet?"

Adeline shook her head. "She came to Oceancrest City to find her child. She won't leave until she finds them."

Oliver's lips curled into a cold smile.

"If she knew this would happen, why did she do it in the first place?"

Selling her child back then, and now wanting them back because she has money.

People like that have no bottom line.

Adeline frowned. "Mia had no choice back then."

Before she could finish, the driver had already stopped the car outside Magnolia Estate.

Mia was sitting on the rooftop terrace, drinking coffee and admiring the moon.

Seeing a car pull up and Adeline get out, she rushed out of the villa.

"Adeline!"

As Oliver got out of the car, he saw Mia in her pajamas, smiling and opening her arms as she ran out of the villa.

Under the dim streetlights, her face was as beautiful as a painting.

For some reason, he felt a sudden surge of desire.
