Chapter 474 Fortunately, I Was Clever
The kid in the pic didn’t just kinda look like Bennett. He was a dead ringer for him.
And in that pic, the kid who was a spitting image of Bennett was with Molly.
She clutched the photo, feeling her blood start to boil! The boy in the pic was a carbon copy of Bennett and Blake! Who the heck was he? Why was he with Molly? Where did Molly find this kid? She brought a kid who looked just like Bennett and Blake back to Radiance Springs. What was she up to?
In a flash, a million questions swarmed Adeline's mind.
Adeline bit her lip, her fingers gripping the photo so tight they turned white, her whole body starting to shake.
She even had this wild thought. Could it be that Bennett didn’t die, and Molly snatched him?
But thinking that, she couldn’t help but shake her head.
No way. If Molly had kidnapped Bennett, then what about Sebastian? Sebastian was with Bennett when it all went down. If Bennett didn’t die, Sebastian shouldn’t have either.
But for so long, neither Sebastian nor Bennett had reached out to her. Not a single sign they were okay.
Wait! Suddenly, Adeline’s eyes lit up! She remembered getting a weird email!
[We’re doing well; don’t worry.]
Adeline: [Who are you?]
[The ones you think about day and night.]
Thinking of this, Adeline quickly grabbed her phone.
She wanted to find those emails and reply again, but her inbox was empty.
No trace of those emails she remembered. Did she delete them?
Adeline furrowed her brows, trying to figure out how those emails vanished.
She refreshed her inbox over and over, but in the end, she had to give up. Was it all in her head?
“Moon?” Seeing Adeline’s downcast look, Richard quickly furrowed his brows and cautiously asked, “What’s up? Did you remember something bad?”
“No.” Adeline snapped back to reality and looked at Richard seriously. “I gotta thank you.”
She took Richard’s phone and sent the photo of Molly and Bennett to her own phone. “Thanks for giving me such crucial info. I gotta go now.”
Richard took his phone back and smiled. “I’ve been using your student’s name to do stuff for years; no need to thank me.”
After saying that, he glanced out the window. “You going to find Jasper? I checked, he and Luna are in the hospital across the street. You can go.”
Adeline paused, looking back at Richard in surprise. “You took me on this long detour to this café just because Jasper and Luna are across the street?”
Before Adeline could finish her question, Richard interrupted her with a chuckle. “I knew that after seeing the photo, you’d definitely want to find him and figure out their connection to you. But your pull in Radiance Springs isn’t strong, so you can only rely on Jasper. So I made the call and picked this spot for our chat.”
Richard’s words made Adeline go silent for a moment.
In the end, she gave a helpless smile. "You can keep using my student's name for stuff. If you hit a wall, you know where to find me."
With that, Adeline walked away.
Richard stayed put, watching her leave, and couldn’t help but chuckle.
From the moment he snapped that photo yesterday, he knew Adeline would eventually say those words and had been waiting for it ever since.
Richard whistled triumphantly and kept sipping his coffee.
When Adeline got to the hospital entrance, she bumped into Ryan who was just heading out.
"What are you doing here?" Ryan asked, raising an eyebrow. "Mr. Foster didn’t mention you were coming."
Adeline grinned. "He didn’t say I was coming, but does that mean I can’t show up on my own?"
She asked, "Is Jasper here?"
Ryan paused and shook his head. "A client from out of town came to see Mr. Foster for business; he just called me to pick him up."
He smiled at Adeline. "An out-of-town client showed up to talk business with Mr. Foster. He just called to say he’s done with the meeting and asked me to pick him up. If you don’t mind, you can wait in Ms. Jones’s ward."
Adeline raised an eyebrow. "I don’t mind, but I think Ms. Jones might. I don’t want to make her so mad she gets sick again."
Ryan smirked. "Even if she gets sick, it’s fine. This is a hospital, after all."
He waved her on. "Go on up and wait, Mr. Foster will be back soon. And it’s not just Ms. Jones upstairs, Vikram’s there too, so you won’t feel awkward."
With that, Adeline felt a bit more at ease.
She pulled Ryan aside to get Luna’s room number, then headed upstairs.
Originally, Adeline thought that with Vikram there, it wouldn’t be awkward to see Luna. After all, Vikram had been pretty nice to her lately and often helped her out. With him there, she wasn’t worried Luna would cause any trouble.
But Adeline didn’t expect that as soon as she got off the elevator and reached Luna’s room, before she could knock, she heard Vikram’s indignant voice from inside. "How is your plan failing my fault? Luna, you don’t really think I told Adeline everything, do you? How would I know what you’ve done? I just provided the funds. You spent so much money, wasted so many of my resources, but you still couldn’t bring down Adeline. That’s not my fault."
Outside the door, Adeline’s hand, which was about to knock, froze in mid-air.
She wasn’t sure what the deal was between Vikram and Luna.
But she was very clear that Vikram wasn’t as simple as she had thought. He was secretly helping Luna?
"How is it not your fault?" After Vikram finished speaking, Luna snorted coldly. "If you had given me more money, would Amelia have taken my hundred thousand dollars and then gone back to testify for Mia? Obviously, Mia had more money, so she betrayed me!"
Luna sighed, her voice filled with relief. "Luckily, I didn’t tell Amelia about faking my terminal illness; otherwise, Adeline would definitely know by now."
