Chapter 879 I Only Need Ten Minutes

As soon as Clio spoke, Sebastian quickly waved his hand.

"No way, I can't do it. I'm still a virgin. This kind of thing should be left to Mr. Foster."

Jasper, carrying a glass of ice water from the kitchen, paused for a moment.

He walked over to the couch, helping the dazed Adeline drink some water while furrowing his brow.

"You're still a virgin?"

"How do I remember you and Adeline..."

If he remembered correctly, there was a time at Radiance Springs when he and Adeline took the kids to the amusement park. They drank together that night, but woke up in different rooms the next morning.

Back then, he mistakenly thought Stella Collins was Adeline, and angrily knocked on the door with Adeline.

The one who opened the door was Sebastian.

Now Sebastian was claiming he had never been with a woman.

Jasper's words made Sebastian suddenly recall that morning.

He shrugged helplessly, turned, and sat on the couch, aiming the tablet's camera at Adeline as he spoke.

"Nothing happened between Adeline and me that night."

"We were both set up by Stella Collins. I was knocked out and sent to Adeline's room."

Jasper furrowed his brow, "But..."

"Adeline did have relations with a man that night, but it wasn't me. It was you."

Sebastian turned his gaze, fixing his eyes on Jasper.

"Back then, you were very important to Adeline. She wouldn't and didn't want to be with any other man besides you."

Each word hit Jasper's heart like a heavy hammer.

He lowered his eyes, looking at the flushed Adeline leaning on the couch, a hint of pain flashing in his eyes.

Once, he was so important to Adeline.

But he didn't understand her heart.

The conversation between the two men made Clio, on the other end of the video call, furrow her brows tightly.

She looked at Jasper's face in shock.

"So, you always thought Adeline really slept with Sebastian?"

Jasper nodded slightly while feeding Adeline water.

"Yes."

Clio's eyes widened, "But your attitude towards Adeline."

"I couldn't tell you were distant from her at all."

"You don't mind her being with another man?"

In Clio's understanding, few men in the world wouldn't care about such things.

The more cherished the person, the less they could tolerate physical betrayal.

She was very surprised that someone like Jasper didn't care?

"Of course I mind."

Every time he saw Adeline with another man, even just chatting, he would be insanely jealous.

But he had no right to blame Adeline.

Jasper squinted his eyes, "I wronged her first."

Even if she really had relations with another man, it was his fault.

If he had expressed his feelings to her earlier, she wouldn't have fallen into Molly's trap, and they wouldn't be where they are today.

"Jasper..."

Finally, after a few glasses of ice water, Adeline spoke.

"I want to sleep..."

"Take me to my room, I want to sleep..."

She reached out, wrapping her arms tightly around Jasper's neck, murmuring with her eyes closed.

Jasper squinted his eyes slightly, then lifted her up and headed upstairs.

In the living room, Sebastian and Clio on the video call watched their departing figures.

Only when the sound of the door closing upstairs was heard did Sebastian breathe a sigh of relief. He turned to Clio on the tablet.

"So, where were we?"

Clio's lips curled up into a smirk. "Talking about you still being a virgin."

Sebastian's face turned bright red. He looked away, avoiding Clio's gaze.

"If there's nothing else, let's wrap this up. I need to get some rest."

With that, he quickly ended the video call.

On the other end, Clio looked at the suddenly darkened screen and couldn't help but smile.

"Still a virgin," she chuckled softly, repeating the words, the smile in her eyes growing.

"Dr. Ross."

At that moment, her assistant knocked on the door.

"Someone from Oceancrest City is here, claiming to be a relative of Mrs. Phoebe. He says his name is Kurt and wants to see Mrs. Phoebe."

Clio furrowed her brow.

Here to see Zara? She only knew Zara's family members. Howard, Oliver, and Adeline. Who was this Kurt?

Full of doubts, she got up and followed her assistant out the door.

In the research institute's lobby stood a man in his forties, dressed in black. He was neatly dressed and had a friendly smile, but for some reason, he gave off a chilling, eerie feeling, like being in the depths of a winter night.

Seeing Clio, the man smiled and extended his hand.

"Dr. Ross! Thank you for treating my sister. If you can really help her recover, the Phoebe family will surely repay you well!"

The sincerity in his eyes made Clio pause for a moment.

"You... are Zara's brother?"

Kurt smiled, "Not a real family member. She once saved my life, and in my heart, she's always been family. I've been abroad for many years due to some matters. Now that I'm finally back, I heard she's become a vegetable. So I rushed over to see her before heading to Oceancrest City."

He looked at Clio with sincere eyes.

"Can I see her?"

His genuine expression and serious words made Clio purse her lips.

"It's too late now, and I can't reach the Phoebe family. Based solely on your verbal statement, I can't confirm if you're really her family. So..."

She smiled at Kurt.

"Sorry."

She was about to arrange for him to be escorted out when Kurt stopped her.

"Zara has a black mole on her left shoulder. And a red birthmark on the back of her left arm."

He squinted at Clio, "These details wouldn't be known by just anyone."

"Still, sorry. These only prove you were once close to her, not much else."

With that, Clio insisted on sending Kurt away.

Seeing the woman in front of him still being stubborn, a cold glint flashed in Kurt's eyes. But the next second, he suppressed the sinister look.

"I can undergo a security check, ensuring I carry no sharp objects. I only need ten minutes. After I come out, you can check her. If she has even a scratch, you can call the police. This is Everglade City, not Oceancrest City. I'm alone here, with no one to back me up or help me escape."

Having said this much, Clio could only sigh and agree.

She called her assistant and security to check Kurt for any sharp metal objects while furrowing her brow in confusion.

"If you haven't seen her in over twenty years, why insist on seeing her now?"
