Chapter 618 He Never Divorced You
The rescue mission went on all night.
Some of the underground tunnels were blocked by debris from the explosion. Clearing the rubble by hand would take forever, and they were worried Jasper and Ryan, trapped underneath, wouldn't make it.
So, following the experts' advice, Adeline and Jason decided to have the rescue team do a controlled explosion to clear the blocked paths.
Controlled explosions were tricky. They had to avoid causing too much vibration, clear the path, and make sure the debris didn't fly everywhere and hit those trapped below.
All night long, various experts and rescue team members were carefully planning and executing the operation.
Jason, with bloodshot eyes, was on-site overseeing everyone.
Adeline, anxious but not able to do much, contacted Mia to see if she could send some supplies.
When Mia heard about the situation, she sent several truckloads of food. Every time someone came up from underground, Adeline would offer them food, coffee, and water.
They also set up a few tents for the exhausted rescue team members to rest after hours of searching below.
Adeline and Jason didn't sleep a wink all night. After a night of hard work, all the paths below were finally cleared. The rescue team rushed down to search and rescue.
Adeline and Jason sat together, watching the rescue team go down, comforting each other.
She said, "Jasper will definitely come back safely."
"Yeah, Jasper hasn't proposed to you yet or planned the wedding. He can't just die like this," Jason replied.
Adeline was momentarily stunned. Jason's words left her at a loss for how to respond.
Jason sighed and glanced at Adeline, "Don't you still believe that Jasper cares about you?"
He stared into the distance, his eyes filled with a profound heaviness. "You always say I like helping Jasper deceive you, but neither I nor Jasper have ever lied to you. Six years ago, when you had your accident, Jasper planned to secure the overseas market he valued most at the time, then return to propose to you, and plan a new wedding for you. He confided in me that he never believed he would fall for any woman, but you shattered his definition of love."

Jasper's life was still uncertain. Yet at this moment, she learned about Jasper's past feelings for her.
Looking at Jason's serious expression, she felt that her heart was being twisted by a knife.
Adeline turned her face away, not wanting Jason to see her tears. At this moment, a red Ferrari stopped directly behind Adeline and Jason. Out of the car came a very anxious Mia.
She said, "Adeline, something's happened!"
Adeline and Jason exchanged a glance and quickly stood up. "What is it?"
"Rex!" Mia took a deep breath and pulled out her phone. "I guess you guys are too busy to check your phones! Rex is causing trouble again!"
She opened the news on her phone and handed it to them. "Look!"
On the phone screen, a memorial service was being set up.
The news headline read: #Live: Foster Group President Jasper's Accidental Death, Funeral Preparations Underway.
The subheadline read: #Foster Family's Youngest Son Rex Taking Over Foster Group.
Seeing these headlines, Adeline almost fainted from anger. Jasper's life was still uncertain, and every staff member was doing their best to rescue him!
Yet Rex had already declared Jasper dead, held a memorial service, and was devastated to take over Foster Group. It was clear he wanted to take advantage of Jasper's uncertain fate to quickly seize control of Foster Group!
After this live broadcast, Mia showed Adeline a few more news articles. In each article, Rex was crying, saying Jasper was dead. In some articles, Nathan even appeared.
Facing the camera, Nathan was crying sadly, "Jasper's health was already poor; he was in a coma for seven days before finally waking up. Now, with this accident, we can't even find his body. As his father, I am truly heartbroken!"
