Chapter 524 Don't Come Adding to My Troubles

The vibe in the living room got icy real quick.

Scott's voice dropped, his eyes locked on Adeline. "What else do you know?"

He used to think Adeline was just cozying up to Evelyn to get him to treat her. But when she whipped out Luna's medical records and started talking like that, he knew she was up to no good.

Adeline chuckled. "What do you think I know, Dr. Smith?"

She leaned back, her eyes casually on the gray-haired Scott. "A teacher falls for his student, but they get split up because of the age gap. Years later, her daughter and husband end up in your care, and you fail to save them twice. Now, you've finally got the girl, but Luna's blackmailing you to fake records."

Adeline squinted at him. "Am I right, Dr. Smith?"

Scott glanced over at Evelyn's room. Thank God he slipped those sleeping pills into her water earlier. If she heard what Adeline was saying, it would be a disaster.

Scott turned back to Adeline, his voice tight with anger. "What do you want?"

"I'm giving you time to think." Adeline took a deep breath and stood up. "I've got the same dirt on you that Luna has. And you saw me buddying up with Evelyn. Even if you try to protect her, I can still make sure she finds out what I want her to know. But Luna? Who knows if Evelyn would even believe her."

Adeline smiled coolly. "And what I want isn't hard. Just admit you misdiagnosed Luna and that she's not terminally ill. I'll be back this time tomorrow for your answer."

Ignoring Scott's pale face, Adeline grabbed her handbag and left.

Scott sat on the sofa, fists clenched, watching her leave.

After leaving the hotel, Adeline caught a cab home.

The taxi pulled up at the entrance of Blue Bay.

As Adeline got out, she noticed a black Maserati parked near the villa entrance.

The person in the Maserati saw her too.

The car door opened, and Jasper, dressed in black, stepped out first.

Then Luna, in a long white dress, got out from the back seat.

Luna and Jasper exchanged a look. Jasper casually pulled out a cigarette, lit it, and leaned against the car door to smoke.

Luna walked cautiously towards Adeline. "Miss Wilson."

Finally, Luna stood in front of Adeline, looking pitiful. "Jasper and I have been waiting for you all night."

Adeline paid the taxi driver and shut the car door. "Why? You want to invite me to Emerald Crest Estate to cook cashew shrimp for Lily?"

Adeline's words made Luna's face go pale.

Luna bit her lip and lowered her voice, speaking softly, "I'm here to apologize. Yesterday's incident was my fault. I shouldn't have poisoned that dish."

Luna lowered her head, her voice weak and full of regret. "I didn't sleep at all last night. I really regret what I did. Thank goodness you knew Grandma was allergic to peanuts and put a bunch of crushed peanuts in that dish. If she had eaten the poisoned dish I made, I'd regret it forever!"

Luna wiped her tears. "So, Adeline, I'm not just here to apologize, but also to thank you. If it weren't for you, I would've made a terrible mistake."

She glanced at Jasper in the distance, who had just put out his cigarette and started making a phone call. Luna squinted slightly and continued, "If I had really killed Grandma, what would happen to Jasper's child in my belly?"

Luna's words made Adeline frown slightly.

Adeline glanced at Luna's flat stomach, her lips curling with a hint of coldness. "You're pregnant?"

Luna calmly lied, "I found out after I fainted last night."

She placed her hand on her stomach as if there really was a child inside. "It's still early, and I haven't told Jasper yet. You know about my illness. I don't know how to tell him, but I really want to have this child. Although I haven't told him about the baby, I did tell him that I want to move out of Blue Bay."

Luna sighed. "Although Lauren and Blake are very well-behaved, if they were to be instigated to push me one day, it would be disastrous. Jasper respects my wishes. As soon as I said I didn't want to continue living at Emerald Crest Estate with Grandma and the kids, he agreed and let me stay at a hotel."

Adeline squinted, crossing her arms as she looked at the woman in front of her.

Adeline could tell that Luna wasn't here to apologize or thank her; she was here to provoke her.

First, Luna said she was pregnant, then she said Jasper loved and cared for her, letting her move out of Emerald Crest Estate.

Adeline clicked her tongue. "You waited outside my house so late just to show off? Fine, I've heard it. Now you can leave."

With that, she turned and walked towards the villa entrance.

Luna bit her lip and quickly caught up. "Wait!"

She took a deep breath and handed a card to Adeline. "This is the address. Come at 10 AM tomorrow. Jasper and I have arranged the best medical team for you to undergo a comprehensive mental evaluation."

Adeline raised an eyebrow.

These past few days, Jasper hadn't mentioned anything about her mental state. She thought he had come to his senses and didn't think she was ill anymore. But he had actually found a professional team to give her a comprehensive mental evaluation and treatment?

In Jasper's eyes, did he really think Adeline was mentally ill?

"Since there's a professional mental evaluation and treatment team," Adeline coldly glanced at the address on the card, then shoved it back into Luna's hand. "You and Jasper shouldn't waste it. Each of you should get checked out. If you have a problem, get it treated. Don't come to my house in the middle of the night to bother me."
