Chapter 187 Do You Have Any Other Complaints?

Adeline frowned and instinctively turned around.
Behind her, a middle-aged man with a cane stared at her with disdain in his eyes.
Beside him stood the expressionless Jasper.
This middle-aged man spoke the sentence she had just heard.
He was the head of the Quinn family, Evelyn's biological father, Morris.
Seeing Adeline turn around, Morris snorted, "I have lived for over fifty years, and this is the first time I have seen someone dare to disrespect the Quinn family at our party!"
Adeline laughed.
She raised her gaze and fearlessly met his eyes. "Mr. Quinn, you only see my disrespect towards the Quinn family. Have you noticed the disrespect your family has shown me?"
With that, she pointed directly at the invitation list Linda had used to humiliate her earlier. "During lunch, Miss Quinn asked for my name and gave me an invitation."
"I came here as a designer for the jewelry company under the Foster Group."
"But my name was not on the invitation list. Instead, there was Mrs. Foster."
"And now, I am being accused of trying to take Mrs. Foster's place while Miss Quinn tells me that the invitation list cannot be changed and asks me to continue staying here."
"She deliberately asked for my name, then ignored me, and finally, when I faced misunderstandings and attacks from others, she casually said, 'It's a mistake that cannot be corrected.' Is this the respect of the Quinn family?"
Her words shot out like bullets, defending her position.
Morris frowned and snorted, "We just made a mistake with a name; what's the fuss all about?"
"Do you expect the Quinn family to apologize to you?"
"Uncle Morris, don't you think you should apologize?" Jasper asked and coldly laughed, standing beside him.
He walked to Adeline's side and looked around at everyone with a cold and detached gaze. "The more solemn the occasion, the more cautious you should be."
"If today Miss Quinn were being treated this way in our Foster family, could you still be so calm, Uncle Morris?"
Morris's expression showed slight discontent, "That's because Evelyn is noble!"
"She's not an important person anyway," Adeline furrowed her brow, about to speak, but Jasper stood in front of her first. "But she's my employee."
"Being abroad and as the CEO, I should seek justice for my employee, shouldn't I?" He looked at Morris coldly, "Uncle Morris, since you knew that she is an employee of my group, and yet you still said such things."
"I think there is no need for our cooperation to continue anymore."
Jasper immediately grabbed Adeline's hand and turned around, "Just pretend I was never here."
After saying that, he walked away.
Being held by Jasper, Adeline unexpectedly felt a warmth in her heart. Despite his many flaws, at this moment, he was willing to stand up for her and support her when everyone else thought she was wrong. Even if he was pretending, it was still something to be grateful for.
Seeing that Jasper really intended to leave, Morris panicked.
Outsiders only knew Jasper as Denver's richest man, but very few people knew that he was also the behind-the-scenes boss of the largest multinational corporation abroad!
He hosted this party today in order to smooth the relationship between the Quinn Group and Jasper and establish a preliminary relationship for the Quinn Group's future ventures abroad!
And now, because of this small matter, Jasper wanted to leave!?
Morris quickly let go of his cane and rushed over to stand in front of Jasper.
"Jasper, you might have misunderstood..."
"I don't disrespect your employee. What I think is, even if an apology is necessary, it should be done after the party by identifying the person responsible for the name mix-up and having them apologized to Miss Wilson."
As he spoke, he even smiled at Adeline, "Miss Wilson, this party was specially prepared for Mr. Foster. You wouldn't want to ruin the atmosphere here because of you, would you?"
Adeline narrowed her eyes.
She let go of Jasper's hand and looked at Morris indifferently, "Did I cause this, or did the Quinn family's lack of respect cause this?"
Her unyielding appearance made Morris's eyes flash with resentment.
Taking a deep breath, he politely smiled, "Since Miss Wilson and Mr. Foster both care so much, I will investigate now!"
After saying that, Morris glanced coldly at Evelyn next to him, "Evelyn, when you drafted the guest list, did you include Adeline's name?"
Evelyn smiled and nodded, "I finished it and handed it over to Monroe."
Monroe, referred to as the butler, was called over by the staff.
After understanding the situation, he laughed, "So Adeline and Adeline Collins are not the same person, right?"
Morris frowned, "What do you mean?"
"It's like this."
Monroe's voice was calm, "On the list given to me by Miss Quinn, Mr. Foster's name was written, followed by a name called Adeline."
"Everyone knows that Mr. Foster's wife, Stella, used to be named Adeline Collins."
"I thought Adeline was a nickname referring to Adeline Collins."
"Adeline Collins is also Mr. Foster's wife, so I decided on my own to write Mr. Foster and Mrs. Foster on the list."
After finishing, he sighed, "This is unexpected."
"I didn't expect there would be an employee named Adeline who shares the same name as Mrs. Foster used to have."
Monroe's words caused the scene to become noisy again.
Adeline, Adeline Collins.
This name... The latter only removed the surname of the former!
Combined with what Linda said earlier about Adeline intentionally seducing Jasper...
"It's terrifying. This woman actually has the same name as Mrs. Foster used to have."
"Is it a coincidence or intentional? Why do I feel that this woman..."
"I think she intentionally changed Mrs. Foster's former name to seduce Mr. Foster..."
...
The surrounding murmurs sounded one after another.
Adeline tightly frowned and subconsciously raised her eyes to look at Stella in the distance.
Stella happened to be looking at her, too.
In that instant, they locked gazes; Stella chuckled lightly and made a mischievous gesture towards Adeline.
Adeline took a deep breath.
All of this was Stella's scheme.
She used Adeline's name as a weakness to create this accident.
Because of the similarity in names, if the Quinn family said all of this was an accident, she wouldn't even have a chance to argue.
"Mr. Foster, Miss Wilson."
Monroe smiled faintly, bowed his head slightly, and said, "This was a decision I made on my own, and it has nothing to do with Mr. Quinn or Miss Quinn."
"If this has caused any trouble for Miss Wilson, I apologize."
After he finished speaking, Morris also smiled gently, "Miss Wilson, are you still angry?"
"Monroe has already apologized. Do you have any other dissatisfaction?"
