Chapter 743 Pretending to be Dennis

The rope that had been grinding against the cliff for hours finally started to give way.

Jasper clung to the rope with all his might, his feet braced against the cliff face.

But the strain was too much.

The wounds he had sustained in Oceancrest City at the hands of Brandon's men began to flare up.

In the end, he lost his grip, his wounds reopening, and he plummeted straight down the cliff.

"Mr. Foster!"

When Jason arrived at the hospital, Jasper had already been in surgery for nearly ten hours.

Outside the operating room, Blake, Bennett, and Lauren sat quietly on a bench, their eyes fixed on the door.

Their faces were red and tear-streaked, even Blake, who was usually calm and composed, had been crying.

Seeing Jason, Blake silently hopped off the bench and looked up at him. "Mr. Smith."

Jason, suppressing his immense worry, quickly knelt down and placed a hand on Blake's shoulder. "How's Jasper?"

Blake sighed, "He fell off a cliff. He almost didn't make it. Luckily, he fell into a pool of water about 30 feet down, so his life isn't in danger."

"But..." Blake glanced at the operating room door. "But Dad got hurt a lot in Oceancrest City, including gunshot wounds. The water he fell into was dirty, and his wounds got infected. The doctor said he needs to rest and can't be running around anymore."

Jason was stunned. What had Jasper gone through in Oceancrest City?

When Jasper went to Oceancrest City, Jason had wanted to go with him.

But Jasper insisted Jason stay in Radiance Springs to help take care of the kids and protect the Foster Group from any threats from the Phoebe or Torres families.

Indeed, both families had tried to recruit in Radiance Springs to target the Foster Group.

But the Foster Group was powerful, and with the Smith family's help, they eventually gave up.

Jason had assumed that since the two families were attacking Jasper's family, they weren't doing well against him in Oceancrest City.

He hadn't worried about Jasper.

But now that such an incident had befallen Jasper.

The operating room door opened.

Jasper, unconscious, was wheeled out and taken to the ICU.

After confirming with the doctor that Jasper's condition was safe, Jason and the kids finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Suddenly, Jason remembered something. "Does Adeline know about this?"

"No," Bennett shook his head. "Dad wouldn't want us to tell Mom about his injuries. And Mom has her own problems to deal with. Dad wouldn't want to burden her."

Jason was taken aback. Bennett was only six, yet his words were so mature.

Jason smiled awkwardly. "You really think things through, Bennett."

Just then, the ICU door opened.

The doctor hurried out. "Mr. Smith, Mr. Foster wants to see you."

Jason rushed in to find Jasper lying weak and pale.

Seeing Jason, Jasper sighed heavily. "I need a favor."

Jason frowned. "What is it?"

"In my phone, there's a contact named Dennis. Go to Oceancrest City and give him the herbs I collected. And tell Adeline to wait for me... don't tell her I'm hurt. Just say..."

Jasper coughed up blood. "Just say I'm busy and I'll come to her when I'm done."

Before Jason could respond, Jasper passed out.

Jason frowned, looking helplessly at Jasper.

He thought, 'Jasper still put Adeline first. He must have risked his life for those herbs for Adeline. Bennett really understood Jasper.'

Jason sighed, stood up, and looked at the unconscious Jasper.

"Don't worry, I'll take care of it." He left the room.

Jason first found the Crag Root Herb from the expedition leader and then got Jasper's phone.

"Hello, is this Mr. Gonzalez? I'm a friend of Jasper's. He has some herbs for you. I'm flying to Oceancrest City tonight. Please meet me at the airport."

Dennis was overjoyed on the other end of the line. He excitedly started preparing. "Nova! Get Dad's recipe!"

If the Crag Root Herb arrived tonight, he could start preparing it, and by morning, Zara would be saved!

Dennis was thrilled, grateful for Jasper's swift action.

Jasper must really care about Adeline.

Dennis hoped everything would work out.

If Zara was saved, there was hope for Jasper and Adeline's relationship.

But Dennis didn't know that a servant at Swan Villa had overheard and left to report.

"Mr. Torres, I've got the information. Jasper went back to Radiance Springs to get medicine for Mrs. Phoebe. But for some reason, his friend is delivering it tonight, and Dennis will meet him at the airport. If the medicine is prepared tonight, Zara will be saved by tomorrow."

Brandon narrowed his eyes and lost in thought.

No wonder Jasper left in such a hurry. He wanted to save Zara himself? Did he think saving Zara would settle the score between the Foster and Phoebe families?

Brandon smirked. It was impossible!

But he wouldn't miss the chance to become the Phoebe family's savior.

Sitting in his wheelchair, Brandon coldly hung up and called Randy.

"Randy, I have a task for you tonight. Go to the airport and impersonate Dennis."
