Chapter 733 He Is Injured
"Molly can't possibly not be Mom and Dad's biological daughter!"
Oliver's words were abruptly cut off by Daisy.
She lifted her head, her eyes glaring icily at Oliver.
"When Molly came back, all the evidence showed she was the child Mom and Dad lost in Neon City years ago! And we did a DNA test! It was undeniable that Molly's DNA matched perfectly with Mom and Dad's, confirming their biological connection."
Daisy wiped away a tear, her mouth quivering as she started crying again.
"Oliver, what are you trying to say? Do you not trust Mom and Dad's judgment, or do you not believe the DNA test results? Molly has been gone for so long, and now you say she wasn't their child. What are you trying to do?"
Facing Daisy's accusations, Oliver squinted and turned to Howard.
"Dad, do you really believe that the ruthless woman who went back to Radiance Springs and killed Esther's biological mother could be your biological daughter?"
Howard was about to speak but hesitated when he heard the name 'Esther.'
He closed his eyes, refusing to continue the conversation. "Stop arguing. You're not kids anymore. Arguing about this in front of the emergency room, aren't you ashamed?"
Oliver squinted but remained silent.
Daisy shot him a venomous look before turning away.
Soon, the emergency room door opened.
Dennis was the first to step out.
"How is she?" Oliver rushed forward, his eyes fixed on Dennis's face.
Dennis sighed. "She's out of immediate danger. But the poison Mrs. Phoebe ingested, I'll need time to develop an antidote."
As soon as Dennis finished speaking, Howard rushed into the emergency room, tightly hugging Zara's body.
"I've told you so many times; don't test the poison yourself! Some things aren't that important!"
Lying on the hospital bed, Zara looked at Howard helplessly. "I really didn't test it myself this time. I must have accidentally ingested something. I just woke up, don't be so harsh, okay?"
Howard realized he might have overreacted. He took a deep breath and followed the doctors, pushing Zara back to her room.
Oliver stood there, watching Howard push Zara away, his eyes growing darker.
Behind him, Daisy, clicking her high heels, raised her voice in a mocking tone.
"Mom and Dad are really in love. They're a perfect match. I wonder which ungrateful woman tried to ruin them..."
Daisy's words made Oliver's hands clench into fists at his sides.
"Let it go." Still barefoot, Dennis sighed and gently patted Oliver's shoulder. "It's been so many years."
Squinting at Daisy's retreating figure, Oliver's voice was low and hoarse. "I don't believe my mother was the homewrecker."
Dennis sighed, interrupting his thoughts. "Let's go back. Jasper is still waiting downstairs."
Oliver finally relaxed his clenched fists.
Jasper asked, "What's Mrs. Phoebe's condition?"
On the way back, Jasper drove while glancing at Dennis in the back seat.
Dennis said, "Mrs. Phoebe is a skilled poison maker. For years, she's been trying to create the most potent poison. But sometimes, she had to test the poison herself"
Jasper's hand tightened momentarily on the steering wheel.
Mentioning the Phoebe family's poisons brought back memories of his grandmother, Lily. Her death was something he still couldn't get over, a grudge he held against the Phoebe family. But with Dennis and Oliver in the car, he suppressed his emotions and continued, "Was she testing poison this time too?"
"My father, Cameron Gonzalez, was Mrs. Phoebe's mentor and knew her methods well. He could always create antidotes for her poisons," Dennis explained. "But after my father passed away a few years ago, Mrs. Phoebe stopped testing poisons herself."
He continued, checking his phone for information. "I inherited my father's skills, but I'm still young and inexperienced. Developing the antidote will take time. Mrs. Phoebe knows this, so I don't think she tested the poison herself this time. She was poisoned."
Oliver leaned back in his seat, sighing deeply. "Can you develop the antidote before it's too late?"
"I should be able to, but I need a rare herb called Crag Root. It usually grows on cliffs, and it's not found in Oceancrest City." Dennis replied.
Oliver closed his eyes in frustration. "Then send people to search the world for it. Whatever it takes."
Dennis nodded, glancing at Jasper, wanting to say something but ultimately staying silent, continuing to search for information.
Jasper safely brought them back to Swan Villa and then went to rest.
That night, he had a dream. He dreamt of searching for Crag Root on a cliff, falling, and losing consciousness.
He woke up with a start, checking the time. It was already 7 AM.
Why such a strange dream?
Crag Root was meant to save Zara. Even though he was close to Oliver, he wouldn't go searching for such a herb for Howard's current wife, would he?
Shaking off the odd thoughts, Jasper got ready and opened the new plan prepared by Nova and Joseph, approved by his three kids.
As he looked at the plan, Jasper frowned.
Today's outfit was a red shirt. He didn't like red and thought men shouldn't wear it. But Lauren had found Adeline's notebook, which mentioned her secret wish to see Jasper in red. So, for Adeline, he picked up the shirt he usually wouldn't even glance at.
Recently, Brandon had relaxed his vigilance towards Oliver, and Jasper figured Oliver wouldn't be in the mood to accompany him today, so he drove to Magnolia Estate alone.
But he didn't expect to be tailed by a convoy shortly after leaving Swan Villa. Using his exceptional driving skills, he managed to shake them off on the highway, but not without sustaining a deep wound on his waist from a collision.
A servant saw his injury and brought him a first aid kit. Jasper sat on a bench, treating and bandaging his wound.
"He's hurt."
Upstairs, Mia watched Jasper skillfully bandage his wound, frowning.
Adeline, sketching by the bed, didn't even look up. "He hurt Brandon last night, and now he's here pretending to be injured?"
