Chapter 78 I hate You
"Adeline, you're drunk." Sitting in a corner of the bar, Brandon looked helplessly at Adeline, who was still recklessly guzzling drinks, "Stop drinking."
But she seemed to not have heard him, she picked up another glass of alcohol and continued to drink heavily.
"Stop drinking!" Brandon frowned and finally couldn't help but reach out and snatch the glass from her hand, "Don't you know the condition of your own body? What are you trying to prove?"
Adeline looked blankly at Brandon and smiled, "But, Brandon, it hurts here."
She pointed drunkenly at her chest, "It hurts here."
"I'm really foolish, truly."
"I thought he still had the most basic humanity."
"But..." The woman wiped away a tear, "Was I just too stupid?"
"He doesn't love me; he can't even love the daughter I gave him..."
"I saw how nervous he was for his daughter during those few near-death experiences. I thought... I thought he at least cared for the child."
"But Brandon, I was wrong. I can't prevent Blake from getting sick or suffering, and I can't guarantee Lauren's safety either..."
"Am I a failure?" She lifted her head, her eyes filled with sadness. "You shouldn't have saved me back then. If I had died..."
I Wouldn't feel this miserable now!
Wouldn't three little lives be spared from all this pain?
"Don't say such foolish things." Brandon sighed, motioning for someone to remove the drinks from the table. He looked at her face earnestly. "Hardships exist to make your future life more vibrant."
"Even through this pain, it tells you... who is truly worth trusting."
Adeline looked up at Brandon's face, tears streaming down uncontrollably.
"There is always a way to resolve things."
Brandon sighed, "My people are already investigating Molly's whereabouts."
"As long as there's a chance, I will have her brought here. I have ways to make her atone without Jasper punishing her."
As he said this, Brandon reached out and carefully wiped away the teardrops from Adeline's face. "Stop crying."
Adeline bit her lip, gazing at him fixedly.
She wanted to say something, but for a while, no words came out.
"Thank you." Finally, she could only say these words to him.
Brandon sighed, raising his hand to gently stroke her head. "Your matters are my matters..."
Upstairs at the bar railing, Bennett sat between Tim and Tom, dejectedly watching Mommy drink downstairs.
"I'm sorry for her." He spoke to the young boy on the other end of the necklace.
"Don't say such foolish things." In the hospital room across the ocean, Blake watched his mom's tired face and Bennett's desolation on the monitor, feeling heartache. "The scum is in the wrong, not you, and certainly not Mommy."
"Got it!" Bennett clenched his lips. "Blake, I remember."
"He is a scum. I will never forget this incident, and I will never forgive him!"
Blake sighed softly. "Me neither."
Previously, they could console themselves by considering the events of six years ago a misunderstanding.
But now it seemed...
The events of six years ago were not a misunderstanding at all!
He only cared about Molly, not Mommy, not the three of them!
"How is Lauren doing?" Blake asked in a low voice over the phone.
"Not great." Bennett sighed. "I just asked Aunt Audrey, she said Lauren locked herself in her room and won't come out or see anyone. I think... Lauren is the most hurt by this, isn't she?"
After all, Lauren had personally experienced several close calls with death.
Fortunately, she had endured many hardships since childhood, so her heart was relatively strong. Otherwise, Molly's attempts to ruin her life would have left a lasting shadow in her heart.
But Jasper, in front of everyone, gave that woman who almost destroyed Lauren's life a way out.
Unforgivable!
"It's late now," Blake sighed. "I'll comfort Lauren properly tomorrow morning."
Bennett nodded. When he had made the decision to send Lauren back to Jasper, he had intended to create an easier way for Adeline to get close to him and to establish a connection between Adeline and someone on the inside.
The current situation was entirely beyond his expectations.
As intelligent as he was, he didn't know what to do now.
Bennett sighed, lowering his gaze to a corner downstairs.
Adeline was completely drunk by now.
Brandon was helping her up the stairs, supporting her with restraint and in a gentlemanly manner, not crossing any boundaries.
The upstairs of the bar was a hotel suite.
Bennett sighed.
Actually, sometimes he thought Brandon was quite good.
But for some reason, he couldn't find a way into Mommy's heart.
Brandon placed Adeline on the large bed in the hotel suite.
Just as he was about to get her some water to drink, his phone rang.
Frowning, he answered the call.
"Sir," a low voice came from the other end of the line, "we've found Molly. Jasper has admitted her to a mental hospital."
Brandon's hand trembled slightly.
"The mental hospital is heavily guarded. It seems impossible for us to get her out."
The man furrowed his brow. "I understand."
Ending the call, Brandon lowered his head and saw Adeline's intoxicated eyes.
She was clinging to his clothes, looking at him in a confused manner. "I heard...I heard them mention Molly on the phone."
Her voice was slurred, but he could still make out what she was saying.
She continued, "What about Molly? Didn't you say you would help me catch her?"
"We need to think about this carefully," Brandon said helplessly as he gently rubbed her head. "Molly is being protected by Jasper. We currently have no way to deal with her."
The hope in Adeline's eyes gradually turned into despair.
So even Brandon couldn't do anything now, huh?
Was Molly, who had tried to kill her daughter multiple times, going to get away with it?
She refused to accept it! She refused to accept it!
Seeing the disappointment on her face, Brandon also felt uneasy. "I promise you, if there is a way, we will…"
"If possible, I will definitely help you catch her. Just lie down and I'll go get you some water," Adeline obediently nodded, her thin body falling onto the large bed.
Brandon finally felt relieved and turned to the kitchen to pour her some water.
However, when he returned with the water, he found the bedroom empty and the suite's door wide open, with no sign of Adeline.
He panicked and quickly put down the cup to grab his phone, "Find her!"
Jasper couldn't sleep.
He was in his study, facing a pile of documents, feeling restless.
Finally, he decided to get up and go to the garden behind Blue Bay to get some fresh air.
The cool night breeze made him feel refreshed.
Suddenly, a hint of alcohol seemed to drift in with the wind.
The man frowned and looked in the direction of the alcohol scent.
A drunken woman stood there, staring at him with bloodshot eyes, "I hate you."
She appeared heavily intoxicated, but the hatred in her eyes and voice made Jasper furrow his brows deeply.
