Chapter 505 "Is the intimacy over so soon?"

Behind the reef, it was almost pitch black, just a faint glow from some distant fire and the moon.

In the shadows, a man stood, so thin he was almost a ghost. He was all skin and bones, but his eyes still had that gentle, elegant look.

"Adeline," Sebastian said with a small smile. "Didn't think we'd meet like this."

Adeline ran up and hugged him tight.

Sebastian was so thin, it felt like hugging a skeleton.

Tears streamed down Adeline's face as she held him. "Sebastian, I thought you were dead and I'd never see you again! I knew that email had to be from you!"

Sebastian hugged her back, his eyes tearing up too.

This was the first time Adeline had ever hugged him, but it had to be now, in these circumstances.

Adeline's tears soaked his shoulder. Sebastian sighed and gently patted her back. "It's okay. I'm still here, and so is Bennett."

Adeline held on for a long time before finally letting go.

She wiped her tears. "Sebastian."

The excitement faded, leaving a bit of awkwardness.

Adeline took a deep breath, glanced at the wet spot on his shoulder, and smiled awkwardly. "I got a little too excited."

Sebastian just said, "It's okay."

Even after all this time, he was still as gentle as ever.

He looked into her eyes. "Honestly, I'm pretty excited too. I didn't think I'd ever see you again."

Adeline sniffled. "Can you tell me what happened to you and Bennett?"

"It's a long story," Sebastian said, glancing into the distance. "Time's tight; I'm on a mission and can't waste too much of it."

"So I'll keep it short." He took a deep breath. "Stella was connected to Molly from the start. All the info Stella had on you came from Molly. The night we got into trouble, Bennett and I had already tricked Stella's people, but then Molly's crew showed up. The explosion was their doing. They stripped us, cut our arms, and after we bled all over, they set off the explosion. For over a month, Molly's been using drugs to brainwash us, hoping we'd forget everything."

Sebastian's words made Adeline clench her fists.

No wonder Bennett didn't remember her.

Bennett had such deep feelings for her and his siblings. If Molly didn't make him forget, how could she control him?

Sebastian continued, "Since Bennett's so young, the drugs worked fast, and he doesn't remember anything. But maybe because of the dosage, I never lost my memory. To protect myself, I've been pretending I don't remember either. Molly sometimes suspects me, so I had to find a way to contact you secretly."

Sebastian took a deep breath. "That's all I can say for now. I still have a mission to complete."

Adeline paused. "Where are you and Molly staying now?"

Sebastian was quiet for a moment. "It's not fixed, and I'm not local, so I can't tell exactly."

"One last question," Adeline said, taking a deep breath. "Was Luna arranged by Molly?"

"Yes and no," Sebastian replied, frowning. "Luna's got her own quirks. Jasper picked her first, then Molly used her."

Sebastian looked deeply at Adeline. "You should get Luna away from Jasper now. Since Molly's been back in Radiance Springs, she's been using Luna for everything. If Luna's out of the picture, Molly will have to rely on Bennett and me."

With that, Sebastian turned to leave. After a few steps, he seemed to remember something, leaned close to Adeline's ear, whispered a few more words, and then finally walked away.

Adeline stood there, watching him disappear into the distance for a long time. She was snapped back to reality by a huge scream from the crowd behind her.

Violet!

Adeline quickly composed herself and rushed towards the commotion.

After pushing through the crowd, she was stunned by what she saw.

On the beach, Ethan was half-kneeling, covered in blood. It was gushing from his arm, and a knife from a nearby barbecue stand lay nearby.

Violet was crying, tearing her dress to use as a bandage. "Call an ambulance! Someone, call an ambulance!"

Nearby, Luna sat on the ground, her white dress stained with blood. She was crying and shouting, "Why stop me? Let me die! Let me die!"

Ethan, enduring the pain, looked at her coldly. "If I knew you were trying to kill yourself, I wouldn't have stopped you."

Apparently, Luna and Violet had a brief argument, and Luna ran to grab a knife. Ethan thought she was going to attack Violet, so he intervened, only to find out Luna was trying to kill herself.

Adeline quickly understood what had happened. She ran to a nearby store, got a first aid kit, and squeezed through the crowd to hand it to Violet. "Use this!"

Violet took the kit, bandaging Ethan while crying. "That knife was used to cut raw meat. If there's any bacterial infection..."

She glared at Luna. "I won't let you off easy!"

Violet couldn't believe a simple argument had led Luna to grab a knife. Whether Luna intended to kill or commit suicide, only she knew.

"Don't glare at me like that," Luna cried. "How was I supposed to know he'd rush over? I just wanted to kill myself, and he stopped me."

Violet was about to lose her temper when a black figure parted the crowd and walked in.

Jasper pulled Luna up and held her. "What happened?"

Adeline frowned and looked up. "Jasper..."

Before she could finish, Jasper interrupted coldly. "One moment I see you hugging behind the reef, now you're here. Did the affection end so quickly?"

Jasper's words made Adeline freeze instantly.
