Chapter 274 She Committed Suicide at Home!

Adeline lay on the bed, giving Stella a faint glance. "So, you came here just to mock me?"

With a light chuckle, Adeline turned her head to look at Stella's face, a mirror of her own from the past. "I thought Mrs. Foster would be upset."

Adeline squinted, watching Stella's changing expressions. "After all, starting today, both your real and fake fathers are in jail."

Stella's eyebrows shot up, disbelief in her eyes. "What did you say?"

Stella's reaction made Adeline chuckle coldly. "I guessed right, Ms. Quinn."

Yesterday, Violet was only partially certain Stella was Evelyn. But now, seeing Stella's reaction to the news about her fathers, Adeline was almost sure.

Stella looked shocked for a moment but quickly regained her composure. She raised an eyebrow at Adeline. "I don't know what you're talking about. Who is Ms. Quinn?"

"Ms. Quinn," Adeline smiled. "Do you have to keep pretending in front of me?"

She scrutinized Stella's face, nearly identical to hers. "It must be challenging for you. Six years of effort, indeed."

Stella narrowed her eyes sharply. After a while, she casually changed the subject. "Helen is also staying in this hospital, did you know?"

"So what? Is Ms. Quinn trying to get Helen to stab me in the back, too? Well, let them both reflect in prison. How are they worthy of being called your parents?" Adeline didn't respond as Stella expected.

Stella's eyes narrowed fiercely. After a while, she grabbed Adeline's collar and lowered her voice. "Adeline, stop calling me Ms. Quinn! If Jasper knows my identity, yours won't remain hidden either!"

"Is that so?" Due to her injured right shoulder, Adeline couldn't struggle as Stella grabbed her collar, so she let her.

Raising an eyebrow, Adeline asked, "Will you willingly tell Jasper my true identity?"

"If Jasper discovers my true identity, what's more probable: us witnessing you humiliate yourself or Jasper maintaining his fondness for you?"

Stella's beautiful face contorted in anger. She stared fiercely at Adeline, then finally let go. "Of course, I won't tell Jasper who you are, even if he finds out I'm Evelyn."

"But rest assured, there will always be another Stella."

"Since you've given up the identity as Adeline Collins, you deserve to watch Jasper be happy with other women for the rest of your life!"

With that, Stella clenched her teeth and angrily left the ward.

Adeline lay on the hospital bed, laughing. "Mrs. Foster, goodbye, time to hit the road!"

The response was the loud slam of the door.

Looking at the ceiling, Adeline smiled. Did Stella assume Adeline Willson to be like the naive Adeline Collins who liked Jasper six years ago?

Now, except for wanting to have Jasper's child to cure Blake, she didn't expect anything else.

In the afternoon, Blake and Lauren came to her hospital room.

Apart from comforting her, the two little ones brought more good news: Jasper promised to take Adeline and the kids to the new amusement park tomorrow.

"Mom, with your shoulder like this, can you come to the amusement park with us?" Lauren asked, eyeing Adeline's bandaged shoulder with concern.

"It's fine," Adeline reassured her, patting Lauren's head with her left hand. "Just my right hand is out of commission. I can still ride the carousel with you and watch you and your brother play other games."

Lauren sighed, "Grandpa is a big meanie."

Bennett pursed his lips. "Please call him Mr. Collins. He doesn't deserve to be our grandfather!"

Lauren paused, then quickly nodded. "You're right!"

Adeline leaned back on the bed, watching the two kids, unable to help but shake her head and smile. "Forget it. Let's plan our route for tomorrow's outing when we have time."

At the mention of going out, the two kids immediately got excited.

Bennett leaned on the edge of the bed, and Lauren sat on a chair, discussing the schedule for their outing tomorrow.

Seeing the two kids so excited, Adeline couldn't help but catch their happiness.

She spent the afternoon happily goofing around with Bennett and Lauren.

After dinner, Jasper personally came to take Lauren and Bennett back to Blue Bay.

After Ryan took the two kids away, Jasper elegantly sat down by the bed, his deep eyes glancing at Adeline's right shoulder. "Still hurt?"

Adeline shook her head. "Not anymore." She took a deep breath and looked at Jasper. "Thank you."

If Jasper hadn't arrived in time in the morning, she would have been badly beaten by Daniel's men.

If Jasper hadn't kicked Daniel when he was about to kill her, she would probably be in grave danger now.

Not to mention the moment she fainted, feeling Jasper carry her out of the office.

Jasper smiled. "If you really want to thank me, work hard. This project still relies on you."

Adeline pointed to her injured right shoulder. "Are you sure you can rely on a designer with a shoulder injury?"

Jasper frowned at her shoulder, then spoke seriously. "The project's timeline can be delayed for you."

Adeline paused. For such a large project, all schedules are usually planned well in advance.

Even delaying it by a few days, let alone a few hours, would mean significant losses.

Perhaps sensing her hesitation, Jasper smiled lightly. "You are worth more than a team of designers I could hire."

"You have already created immense value for me. Waiting for your recovery is the least I can do."

Jasper's voice was too gentle, his gaze too sincere.

Adeline's face couldn't help but blush. The air in the ward was quietly charged with tension.

Adeline lowered her head, not wanting Jasper to see her blushing. "Don't worry, I will do my best."

At that moment, Jasper's phone rang. It was a call from Blue Bay. Jasper furrowed his brow and answered.

"Mr. Foster!" On the other end of the line, Ted's voice was extremely urgent. "Mrs. Foster has committed suicide at home!"
