Chapter 655 Bennett is Missing!
Molly quickly denied, tears streaming down her face, ""No! Jasper, how can you doubt me like this? I really just..."
She bit her lip, her face reddened with tears, looking particularly pitiful.
"I was just afraid the kids wouldn't get to see Adeline one last time."
Molly lowered her head, her voice choked with sobs, "If I had known the Foster Mansion only had a spare car with cut brake lines, I would never have let them come over!"
As she spoke, she pretended to look pitifully at Blake and Lauren. "It's all my fault; can you forgive me?"
Blake squinted and glanced at Jasper, who didn't seem to want to punish Molly.
Although Blake felt a bit uncomfortable, he still thought that adults have their own reasons for doing things.
So he held back Lauren, who wanted to speak against Molly, and smiled faintly at her, "Since Ms. Collins didn't do it on purpose; of course, we should forgive you!"
After saying that, Blake blinked his big eyes at Molly, "But Ms. Collins, you should think carefully before doing things in the future. If every time it gets related to what bad people do, even if we forgive you, Daddy won't think it's just a coincidence!"
Blake took a deep breath, "Alright, we won't disturb you anymore, and we are going upstairs to see Mommy!"
With that, Blake took Lauren's hand in one of his and Mia's in the other, striding towards the elevator.
Mia frowned, and as she stepped into the elevator, she couldn't help but let go of his hand.
She walked up to Jasper with large strides, her eyes coldly glaring at the stern-faced man, "Jasper, what's wrong with you? You used to treat Adeline so well, always saying she was your whole world. Now she is seriously ill, still in the ICU, and you are cozying up with Molly. What exactly..."
Before Mia could finish, Molly interrupted her loudly. "Jasper and Adeline, of course, are just going through the motions."
Molly wrapped her arm around Jasper's and smirked, "He was good to Adeline only because she is Blake and Lauren's mother. The one he truly loves is me. Even if he were drunk, he would have been willing to be with me."
Molly's demeanor made Mia feel disgusting.
She coldly glanced at Molly, not bothering to respond to her. "Jasper, I'm asking you!"
Jasper looked deeply at Mia, curling his lips, "Molly has made it very clear."
With that, he held Molly's hand, which was wrapped around his arm, and walked away with her.
Watching the two leave, Mia frowned, burning with anger.
She stepped forward again, just about to grab Jasper's arm to argue, but Molly slapped her hand away, "Rude and unreasonable!"
She raised her eyebrows, crossing her arms and looking down at Mia's furious face. "No wonder Thomas didn't want you and sent you to another man's bed!"
Mia's eyes widened instantly, she said, "What nonsense are you talking about!"
Molly sneered, "You still haven't figured it out."
She coldly stared at Mia's face and continued, "Years ago, Thomas sent you to the bed of a old man, making you think you slept with Thomas. Later, you had a son with this old man, who was taken away by his family. After that, you started going crazy missing the child, and Thomas had no choice but to get amnesia drugs through me, making you forget that past. If your child is still alive, he should be as old as Blake and Lauren now. But you will never see him in this lifetime."
She turned around, wrapping Jasper arm. "Since you have so much time to meddle in others' affairs, why not take care of your own mess!"
With that, Molly walked away with Jasper.
Mia stood there in a daze, subconsciously knocking on her head.
Molly was right.
Six years ago, when Thomas had just left Radiance Springs, she did lose almost a year of memory.
At that time, Thomas told her it was because she had a fever and a concussion, which caused the amnesia.
But now it appeared that Thomas had lied to her.
Suddenly, Lauren tugged at Mia's sleeve, "Ms. White, are you okay?"
She wiped her face, looking down and smiling at them, "I'm fine. That Molly thinks she can make me sad with a made-up story, but that's impossible."
With that, Mia picked up Lauren and held Blake's hand, heading to the elevator.
Mia had seen Adeline's photo on Blake's phone before.
She thought Adeline's current condition should be similar to the photo.
But it wasn't until she went upstairs and stood in front of the ICU's floor-to-ceiling glass that she realized how serious Adeline's condition was.
Mia had seen people on the brink of death before.
When she was in the countryside, she could never forget the look of her grandfather, who raised her, on his deathbed.
And at this moment, Adeline's condition was exactly the same as her grandfather's back then!
Thinking of this, Mia's heart felt like it was being tightly squeezed.
Adeline seemed perfectly fine yesterday; how did her condition deteriorate so rapidly?
Mia felt terrible, and Blake and Lauren felt even worse.
Lauren lay on the floor-to-ceiling glass, her little face red from crying.
Blake didn't say anything, but his eyes were red, and his hands were tightly clenched into fists at his sides.
In the special care ward, Adeline looked at Blake and Lauren outside the window, finally calming her anxious heart.
She forced a smile, gesturing to Mia from a distance to take care of them.
She also told Mia not to pursue Jasper and Molly anymore.
Mia didn't understand why Adeline, in such a condition, still didn't want her to pursue Jasper and Molly.
But she nodded and listened to Adeline.
"Your mommy will be fine." As she took them out of the hospital, Mia kept softly comforting them.
They remained silent, lost in their thoughts.
Taking a deep breath, Mia was about to take them back to the Foster Mansion when her phone rang.
It was an unknown number.
Mia frowned and answered, hearing a man's anxious voice on the other end, "I'm Sebastian. Are you Mia? Adeline said if anything happened to her and she couldn't be reached, I should contact you. Bennett is missing!"
