Chapter 195 Adeline Remains as Beautiful as Ever!

"Following Violet's instructions, Adeline indeed found several pinhole cameras in the room. Not just one. They were placed on the showerhead, the bathroom mirror, the TV set-top box, and even the coffee table. Adeline meticulously counted them; there were more than a dozen! She dismantled all the pinhole cameras, arranged them on the coffee table, took photographs as evidence, and promptly called the police.

Just as she hung up the call, a knock sounded at the door. Adeline furrowed her brow. “Who is it?”

“Ms. Wilson.” The voice outside was extremely deferential. “I am Lyndon, the owner of this hotel.”

Adeline paused. She had heard of Lyndon before—Linda's father. Back when they were in school, she knew Linda's family ran a hotel. But she didn't expect that the hotel she was currently staying in was owned by Linda's father.

Adeline knew Lyndon's reason for seeking her out. Keeping a cautious eye, she turned on the camera on her spare phone and discreetly placed it in a corner of the sofa. Only after these preparations did she take a deep breath and open the door.

Outside stood Lyndon, Linda, and a man who looked somewhat familiar next to Linda. Seeing Adeline open the door, Lyndon quickly smiled at her. “Ms. Wilson, hello. I just received a complaint that someone installed pinhole cameras in our hotel, so I'm here with my daughter and son-in-law to investigate. Apologies for the disturbance. May we enter your room to check?”

Adeline squinted slightly. Someone installed pinhole cameras in the hotel. That explanation was bold, shifting the blame entirely onto the hotel's responsibility.

With a slight smirk, she turned back into the room and sat on the sofa. “No need to trouble yourselves, I've already removed them.”

Pointing to the cameras on the coffee table, she continued, “The police should arrive soon, and the press should be here shortly as well. Whether someone installed these pinhole cameras in the hotel, or the hotel is framing them, it will be investigated.”

Lyndon's face turned crimson. On the side, Linda furrowed her brows tightly. “Adeline, you're going too far! My father said someone deliberately set us up by installing pinhole cameras in the hotel! Why are you being so relentless?”

After her outburst, Linda coldly added, “I know, it's because I offended you at last night's banquet, so you are intentionally picking a fight, right? These pinhole cameras could very well be placed by you, attempting to shift the blame onto us!”

Lyndon furrowed his brows. “Linda, don't say that.”

“Am I wrong? This woman is despicable! Back in Dawn Vale, she stole Stella's husband! Stella was my high school desk-mate. Her affairs are my affairs. This woman stealing Stella's husband deserves my censure!”

Adeline couldn't help but chuckle at the woman's words. “It seems that you have completely forgotten what I told you last night.”

Linda paused. Last night, Adeline mentioned an incident from her high school days involving rumors and a fight. “How do you know about my high school days?”

Adeline smiled faintly. “I not only know about that incident in your high school days.” Pointing behind Linda at the man, she added, “I also know that your husband, this man, was your classmate from the neighboring class in high school.”

Adeline had found this man familiar before, and when Lyndon mentioned he was Linda's son-in-law, Adeline made the connection. In high school, Linda did have a crush on someone, but unfortunately, that person turned out to be a scoundrel.

“Linda, there's something you may not have known. Back in high school, your husband pursued Adeline because he knew you liked him. He befriended you just to get closer to Adeline.” Giving a cold glance at Linda's husband, she asked, “Isn't that right?”

The man's eyes betrayed his silence, evading her gaze.

Linda's expression hardened. “Zavier Harris is what she said true!?”

Zavier's expression told the unfolding truth.

“You scoundrel!” Linda slapped him. “So, what you told me about secretly liking me since high school was a lie!?”

Zavier fell silent for a moment. “Back in high school, you weren't as beautiful as Adeline...”

“I actually found you cuter back in high school than now,” Adeline interjected, crossing her arms, finding the drama amusing. “Besides, even if she wasn't as pretty as Adeline, there was no need to deceive people.”

Enraged, Linda dragged Zavier out of the room, and the two began quarreling in the corridor.

“Bang,” the door closed.

In an instant, the room was left with only Lyndon and Adeline.

“Lyndon.” Adeline coldly smirked. “If I were to spare you, spare this hotel, it wouldn't be impossible. I have a condition.”

Lyndon held his breath. “What condition?” The loud voices of Linda and Zavier in the corridor could be heard.

“Alright, you liked Adeline from the beginning, so why didn't you tell me! Back then, Adeline advised me that you weren't worth liking, and we even argued about it! Now I understand, she was too embarrassed to tell me, you seemed interested in me, but in reality, you were pursuing her!”

The voices of these two outside reached Stella and Jasper's ears through the door crack. At that moment, they were sitting opposite each other on the sofa, eating the supper Ryan had brought for them.

Upon hearing the commotion outside, Jasper faintly raised an eyebrow, looking at Stella. “Shall we go out and see?” After all, the center of the argument was her.

Stella's expression soured a bit. Lowering her head, she ate, lips pursed. “If I go out, won't it just add to the mess?”

In reality, she didn't want any interactions with the real Adeline's friends. The more interactions, the greater the risk of exposure. Just like now, the commotion outside about Linda's anger toward her husband was something she had no clue about, and she didn't understand the underlying relationships.

If she rashly went out... it would only make Jasper start suspecting her! Stella kept her head down, praying silently as she ate, gritting her teeth, hoping the two idiots outside her door would leave soon. After all these years since high school, why were they causing a scene outside her room at this late hour!?

Jasper raised an eyebrow. “Your classmate seemed quite enthusiastic in standing up for you yesterday. Are things bad between you two?”

Stella pursed her lips. “It's not that bad, but I feel this is their private matter...”

“But they've been arguing for ten minutes.” Jasper sighed, set down his fork, and stood up, walking briskly to the door, opening it.

The scene in the corridor was quite dramatic. Linda had Zavier pinned against the wall, gripping his collar as she furiously scolded him. As Jasper opened the door, both outside were startled, automatically turning to look at him. In such a situation, even if Stella didn't wish to, she had no choice but to step out. When Zavier saw Stella, his eyes lit up. After all these years, Adeline remained as beautiful as ever!

The way Zavier looked at her instantly irked Linda. She delivered a swift kick at him.

After kicking Zavier, Linda chuckled awkwardly. “Stella, I'm sorry. I didn't know you and Mr. Foster were staying here, so...”

Stella's expression turned frosty. “I thought you two were intentionally causing a ruckus here.”

“How could that be.” Linda tried to appease her, “Even if I'm immature, I wouldn't do something like that.” She sighed. “I found out someone installed pinhole cameras in Adeline's room, so we came with Dad to apologize to Adeline and resolve the issue...”

Before she could finish her sentence, Jasper's eyebrows furrowed deeply. His voice was cold, “You're saying, Adeline's room had pinhole cameras installed by someone?”

Linda nodded, “I'm not entirely sure...” As she spoke, the tall man strode decisively toward Adeline's room.

“What's going on?”"
