Chapter 1010 Even Though There Are Many Women Around Me, I Won't Pay Special Attention to Anyone
As soon as they walked in, they didn't notice Aria, who was busy with the accessories. Brady's gaze immediately fixed on Violet, and he spoke gently, "Hey, darling, I finished what you asked."
Violet looked at him and replied, "You two should go take a shower first."
At that moment, Aria, who had been arranging flowers, suddenly lifted her face and looked at the handsome and mature man. Her breath caught in her throat, and her eyes burned with an intense, unhidden gaze directed at Brady. This was the man who had haunted her dreams for years. But he might not remember her.
Thinking of this, the fire in Aria's eyes dimmed. However, she wasn't the type to pine away in secret. She preferred to be bold about her feelings. So she hid her disappointment, lifted her lips in a confident smile, and greeted Brady, "Hello, Mr. Hall."
Brady finally turned his attention to Aria upon hearing the unfamiliar woman's sultry voice. Seeing her face, he seemed to fall into a deep contemplation, followed by a silent stare.
This scene of apparent reunion felt ironic and infuriating to Violet. So, he claimed he had never experienced any romance in his life? Pretended to be a pure-hearted man? And yet, here was someone who clearly meant something to him. What kind of act was he putting on for her?
Violet grew angrier as she watched them, but restrained herself from speaking. She wanted to see how this would unfold.
"Why are you back?" Brady finally recognized her face and asked.
He set Henry down, and a nearby maid quickly picked him up to take him upstairs for a bath to prevent a cold. Another maid handed Brady a black bathrobe, which he put on, tying the belt to cover his well-toned body. He then slowly walked over to Violet and Aria, sitting next to Violet and looking at Aria.
"I came back three months ago but didn't want to disturb you," Aria said, her voice unable to hide the excitement and affection.
This was a stark contrast to her earlier boldness with Violet. It was the tenderness reserved for the man she loved.
"Alright, let me introduce you. This is my wife, Violet. You two should know each other?" Brady introduced Violet in a friendly manner, without any emotional fluctuation.
Violet suppressed her anger, putting on a good face but speaking through gritted teeth, "So, Ms. Clark really knows my husband? He said he didn't know you."
Brady sensed her jealousy and took her hand, leaning in to whisper, "I'll explain later."
Aria watched their intimate interaction, a spark of jealousy in her eyes, though she kept it under control.
"Ms. Clark, weren't you going to help me with the accessories? My wedding dress is in the closet. Shall I have a maid show you the way?" Violet forced a polite smile.
Aria had no choice but to agree, "Alright, Mrs. Hall."
She picked up the accessories and glanced at Brady. There would be time for them later.
Aria went upstairs to the closet to help Violet with the flower accessories. Violet leaned back on the sofa, her face darkening as she dropped the pretense. "Didn't you say you didn't know her? How come you recognized her so quickly?"
Brady heard the jealousy in her voice and pulled her close, starting to explain, "Doesn't this prove that I really didn't remember her? If I hadn't seen her in person."
"Do you think I believe that?" Violet said angrily.
"Honestly, I wasn't very focused on women back then. I was busy with my studies and career. Even if there were many women around me, I wouldn't pay special attention to any of them."
Aria was one of them.
"She was one of the children from a poor area that our family sponsored years ago. My grandfather loved doing charity work, for example, donating to orphanages and sponsoring many children. Aria was one of them. She's a few years younger than me. When her family had no one left, my grandfather felt sorry for her and sent her to live with a distant relative of ours. That relative didn't keep in touch with us often but treated her well, so we didn't have much contact. We only had an assistant responsible for checking on their situation annually."
"I met her two or three times about three or four years ago. After that, I got busy with other things and didn't pay much attention to her."
"That's the story. I know her name, but I didn't immediately recognize her."
