Chapter 38 Let's Go, I'll See You Off
"Violet, allow me to see you off," Brady insisted, feeling helpless against the old lady's persistence.
Didn't he understand the meaning behind her eyes?
It's simply because he's attracted to the young girl.
But how could someone like Violet, who is so calculating, catch his eye?
The old lady didn't need to hint at him; he wouldn't consider it.
However, on the surface, Brady would not defy the old lady. He stood up and walked Violet out.
Violet was stunned to hear that he wanted to see her off.
At first, she was taken aback, but upon seeing the indifference in his eyes, she understood that he was doing it for the old lady's sake.
Without saying a word, she quietly walked out with him, holding her bag.
Once outside, away from the old lady's sight, she could go back on her own.
The two of them walked out of the Hall family mansion side by side, one in front of the other.
Once outside the gate, none of the Hall family servants followed them.
Violet glanced at the darkening night outside and quickly walked up to the man in front of her. With a respectful tone, she said, "Mr. Hall, thank you for dinner tonight, but I can go back on my own."
After saying that, she wanted to run away like a rabbit.
Brady glanced at her, and for some reason, in the dim light of a lamppost, he felt that this woman was unusually enchanting. With a firm grip on her wrist, without saying a word, he suddenly said, "Let's go, I'll see you off."
"Ah!" Startled by the sudden grip on her wrist, Violet let out a slight scream, "Mr. Hall... There's no need."
Didn't this man dislike her?
Didn't he want her to stay away from his sight? Why would he still want to see her off?
And why did he have to hold her wrist like this?
Violet couldn't understand.
But she didn't want to understand right now. She tried hard to break free from his confinement, but Brady didn't loosen his grip; instead, he tightened it a bit further. With a cold and faint voice, he said, "If you move again, do you believe I'll throw you onto the street?"
This threat was quite effective against a young girl.
Violet obediently calmed down and stopped moving.
Frowning slightly, she followed him to his black Bentley.
When they reached the car, Brady opened the back door and pushed her inside before getting in himself.
The driver waiting outside took a glance at the two in the car, didn't say anything, and immediately got in.
The car finally roared to life.
Brady didn't look at Violet. With his dark gaze fixed straight ahead, he calmly asked, "Miss Devereux, where to?"
"I... I'm going home." This was Violet's first time riding in Brady's car, especially a luxurious Bentley like this. She felt slightly uneasy.
Biting her lip, she answered.
"Where is your home?" Brady suddenly realized something after asking. His tone remained calm, maintaining his distant and ice-cold attitude as he said, "You still live in—
"Is this the Devereux residence?"
"I don't live there anymore." Violet gently pinched the back of her hand to calm herself down and randomly mentioned an apartment, saying, "Just drop me off at Ninth Apartment."
This apartment wasn't Hellen's apartment. She didn't need to invite a wolf into her home. However, it wasn't far from Hellen's apartment. She could walk there in about 5 or 6 minutes.
"Ninth Apartment?" Brady found it unfamiliar. After all, it wasn't a high-end apartment but a regular residential area. Naturally, he wouldn't be familiar with it. But he didn't care as long as he could drop her off.
They didn't speak any further after that. This silence might be stifling for others, but for Violet, not talking was the best way to get along. It prevented him from suddenly doubting if she was trying to seduce him. She couldn't afford such accusations. Therefore, silence was perfect.
Twenty minutes later, the car quickly arrived at Ninth Apartment. As Violet prepared to get off, Max called. He wanted to meet her there!
