Chapter 609 We Can Make it Public
This was the first time Ava had ever felt so desperate and pitiful. She knelt in front of the mansion's staff, begging Matilda for forgiveness, pleading with her not to force a divorce.
Matilda was completely unwilling to believe that Ava would change.
"If you really want to make things right, go apologize to Violet," Matilda said. "Otherwise, I won't believe you're serious about changing."
"Mom, I..." Ava could kneel before Matilda, but she still couldn't bring herself to bow to Violet.
"Not willing, huh? I'm not gonna force you. Just sign the papers soon. I don't want the kids to be scared," Matilda said, clearly done with the conversation.
Recently, Ava had caused such a commotion at home that the kids were afraid to come back.
Matilda missed her two precious ones every day but couldn't see them immediately.
She felt terrible.
"Mom, if I go to her, will you forgive me?" Ava was on the verge of losing her mind. She didn't want to lose her husband.
This incident made her realize that she had no real power in this family.
Her husband listened to Matilda the most, Matilda adored Brady, and Brady only loved Violet.
So, the person with the most influence in the family was Violet.
Not her, Ava.
"Yes, you need to get her forgiveness and show it through your actions," Matilda said, rubbing her aching forehead and sighing. "Ava, you've had a good education. Why are you so fixated on someone's background? Don't you understand that with our family's current status, marrying someone with a powerful background could actually be detrimental? Do you get it?"
"You just want a daughter-in-law with a strong background for the sake of appearances, right? But have you considered that the forces behind such a daughter-in-law could one day swallow us whole?" Matilda paused and said, "I'm tired. I don't want to talk anymore. If you really understand, go beg Violet."
With that, Matilda turned and walked away without any hesitation.
Ava knelt in the hall, her eyes red, her body trembling uncontrollably.
After a long time, she stood up and went back home.
She needed to calm down before going to Violet.
During the days Ava was gone, the Hall family was indeed much quieter.
Nicole's mood gradually returned to normal. As long as she didn't see Ava, she wouldn't have an episode. But this wasn't a long-term solution, so Brady planned a three-day trip to a hot spring with Violet and the kids to relax.
To soothe Nicole's emotions.
Violet had no objections to his plan. She had just turned down Ava's design project and had no other work lined up, so she was happy to take it easy.
Around noon, Brady finished his work and called Violet upstairs to discuss the vacation.
Violet was eager to see him. She tidied up her things and happily went upstairs.
When she arrived at the office, Brady was sitting in his chair and waved her over. "Come here."
Violet obediently walked over and sat on his lap. He immediately hugged her gently, then freed one hand to softly caress her belly. "How long until your next check-up?"
"This time, I want to go with you," he said, wanting to see their little one for himself.
"Still over two months until the next check-up," Violet said, wrapping her arms around his neck affectionately.
"Two months? That feels like forever," Brady sighed. "Alright, I'll wait," he said, then gently kissed her lips. "I've been struggling lately. Can you help me out?"
He had been abstinent for a long time.
Holding her every day without being able to touch her was too torturous.
Of course, he wouldn't make love to her, afraid of hurting her, but she could help him with her hand.
He needed to coax her into agreeing.
He kissed her a few times, but it wasn't enough. He wanted to delve deeper, entwining his tongue with hers. Just as he was about to pry open her lips, the office door suddenly swung open. The project manager rushed in with a document, ready to report.
He saw Violet and Brady embracing.
The project manager was so startled he nearly dropped the document, stammering, "Mr. Hall, I... I knocked. I thought you wanted me to come in."
"Get out," Brady ordered, clearly annoyed, not waiting for him to finish.
The project manager, having stumbled upon such an intimate scene, didn't dare stay. He hurriedly backed out and closed the door.
Once the door was shut, Violet became a bit nervous. "Oh no, our relationship is definitely going to spread."
"Let it spread. We can make it public," Brady had long wanted to go public.
They had already gotten their marriage certificate. All that was left was a wedding and an announcement.
"But won't it have a negative impact?" Violet worried about his authority in the company.
"It won't," Brady said, pinching her nose. "I told you JK would be transferred to you. You'll be the boss, so it's fine."
Violet responded, but still felt uneasy. After thinking for a moment, she said, "Brady, how about I resign? I want to start a studio."
Brady raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure? Running a studio is exhausting."
"I want to try. I want to be as excellent as you," Violet said, gently kissing him. "Let me do it, okay?"
Brady couldn't resist her gentle pleading and nodded. "By the way, my parents are planning to divorce. I wanted to let you know."
