Chapter 211 Play With It, Then Throw It Away
Laura Murphy emerged from the director's office, her eyes brimming with a ferocity that threatened to consume everything in her path. The conclusion of their conversation was unmistakable.
The man she had quietly admired for an eternity had genuinely fallen for another woman. There was no longer a glimmer of hope for her. With the last vestige of hope extinguished, she resolved to bring down JK Designs before her departure. She was determined to make him rue his decision of falling for the seemingly insignificant Violet Devereux.
And as for Violet Devereux, Laura vowed to ensure she would never find a foothold in the fashion industry again.

Meanwhile, at a nearby restaurant, Violet Devereux concluded her meal with Brady Hall and Loraine Plahn. Afterward, she accompanied Brady back to the underground parking lot, intending to return to the company.
Upon reaching the parking area, Brady Hall’s bodyguard courteously opened the car door for them. The pair slid into the vehicle, and the bodyguard circled around to the driver’s seat, ignited the engine, and they were off.
As they exited the restaurant's parking lot, a burst of dazzling sunlight streamed in, casting a gentle golden glow on Violet Devereux's delicate and attractive face. Her lips, as red as peach blossoms, her perky nose, and her long, feather-like lashes cast an enchanting shadow beneath her eyes.
The sight left the man beside her momentarily breathless. An unexpected urge to kiss her passionately surged within him.
It was peculiar. The more he got to know her, the more uncontrollable his desire to possess her became. It was as if he were under a spell.
Brady Hall had always prided himself on his exceptional self-control. He had never imagined that succumbing to his desires could feel so overpowering. Brady lifted his hand and gently pressed his temples, attempting to dispel the torrent of desire threatening to engulf his thoughts. In broad daylight, he had no intention of behaving like a beast.
Once the sinister urge had mostly subsided, Brady lowered his hand and advised, "After we get through this issue, you need to be more vigilant."
This young woman lacked the necessary gravitas. She appeared intelligent, but she was deficient in cunning. Of course, the incident that transpired a year ago in the hotel was a different matter altogether. Could he have anticipated her audacity back then?
Violet Devereux acknowledged that she needed to exercise more caution in the future. With a mixture of emotions, she responded, "Mr. Hall, I understand." After all, she was a recent graduate; how could she possess the experience to skillfully evade all the manipulations like those who had been in the workforce for many years?
"How did you muster the audacity to attempt to manipulate me before?" Brady Hall, recalling the past, was somewhat intrigued to learn more.
During their time together, he hadn't perceived her as the manipulative type. Yet, the events of the previous year were crystal clear. He had long believed she had deliberately schemed against him. But could that have been the case?
"I..." Violet wasn't fond of discussing the past, and she wasn't inclined to provide an explanation.
Perhaps her reluctance stemmed from the fact that what was done was done, and the events had already transpired. What difference would an explanation make? Moreover, Brady Hall had been persistently pursuing her.
Did she wish to clarify matters just to foster goodwill? Consequently, she decided not to rectify any misunderstandings. It might even diminish the affection he held for her. So, she chose to remain silent, allowing the misunderstanding to persist. "Mr. Hall, I really don't want to talk about the past."
"Mm." Brady Hall didn't press her; his current interest was in her as a person, not her past. Glancing out the car window, his deep, resonant voice suggested, "How about a date with me tonight?"
His voice was undeniably captivating. It was akin to a genuine boyfriend extending an invitation. Violet felt a flutter in her chest, but the reality was... he wasn't sincere. He was merely pursuing her for fun, and once he grew bored, he would discard her.
"Mr. Hall, I'm sorry, I don't want to date you," Violet firmly declined, her lips pressed tightly together, resolute yet respectful.
To her refusal, Brady Hall reacted as if he had anticipated it, not taking offense. Instead, he reached out towards her, his fingers weaving through her thick hair in an intimate caress, touching the nape of her neck tenderly as he leaned in closer and whispered, "Violet Devereux, do you understand that your rejection only makes me want you more?"
Violet was left speechless. What kind of twisted logic was that? Violet Devereux chose to remain silent, not wishing to engage with him further.
