Chapter 324 Being Caught Red-Handed, You Still Wouldn't admit it?
When someone called the cops, the whole scene turned into chaos. Leana shot a cold look at Violet and said, "Ms. Devereux, got nothing left to say now, huh?"
"I didn't steal it," Violet replied, her face calm.
"Didn't steal it? I've got proof, and you still won't fess up?" Leana sneered, shaking a necklace in her hand. "Is this the kind of person JK hires? Caught stealing and still denying it?"
"Ms. Moore, I support calling the police because I didn't steal anything." Violet looked at her calmly, unafraid of the false accusations.
She knew she was innocent, and with modern police tech, they wouldn't wrongly accuse her.
So Violet wasn't scared.
But Violet's calmness really got under Leana's skin.
She expected Violet to beg or panic.
But nothing like that happened.
"Fine, we'll see you at the station!" Leana snapped, storming off with her necklace.
As soon as Leana left, Max walked over and said, "Violet, I believe you! You're not that kind of person." He trusted her completely.
Having worked with Violet for a while, he knew her well. If she had any character flaws, he would've noticed by now.
"Mr. Green, thank you for trusting me." Violet looked at Max, feeling a bit grateful.
Out of everyone there, only Max believed her.
No one else did.
"I believe you," Max repeated.
Fanny, standing nearby, sneered. "Mr. Green, Violet was caught red-handed. You don't have to be so biased."
If Laura were here, she'd be furious. The guy she liked was siding with a thief!
"I'm not being biased. Until the facts are clear, I won't suspect anyone," Max said firmly.
Fanny found his words laughable. What facts needed to be clarified?
So many people saw it. How could it be fake?
It was clearly favoritism.
To put it bluntly, it was because Violet was attractive. If it were someone else accused of theft, Mr. Green wouldn't even care.
Needless to mention, Fanny was disgusted with both Violet and Max.
"Mr. Green, I hope when the police arrive, you don't end up embarrassing yourself."
Max frowned, "Fanny, we're on the same team as Violet. As a veteran designer, shouldn't you avoid jumping to conclusions?"
He continued, "I only believe what I see with my own eyes!"
"Forget it, let's wait for the police." Max knew some designers didn't like Violet.
Since he couldn't change their minds, he'd let the truth speak for itself.
About 15 minutes later, the police finally arrived.
A young officer showed his badge and asked Leana, "Are you the one who called?"
Leana nodded. "Yes. My necklace was stolen by a designer from JK. It's worth a million dollars."
The officer nodded. "This is a serious case. You both need to come to the station to help with the investigation."
Leana crossed her arms. "Fine, I have no objection."
Violet was cool with it too. "Alright, Sir."
"In that case, please come with me." The officer led them to the station.
Max, worried about Violet, followed closely behind.
