Chapter 753 I Am Worried That You Will Be Harmed by Her Using Mrs. Hall
In the following days, nothing major happened, and Darian didn't reach out to Violet again.
Violet and Max didn't want to bother him too much, so they decided to wait for his studio's agent to contact them.
It was Wednesday around noon.
Charlotte wanted to get closer to Violet, so she subtly asked Calliope to invite Violet to lunch.
When Calliope asked Violet, there was no way Violet would refuse.
So, it went smoothly. Calliope arranged the lunch with Violet, and as soon as she hung up the phone, Charlotte grabbed Calliope's hand with a grateful and emotional look, saying, "Calliope, how can you be so wonderful? Like a little angel?"
"That's great. Thank you for helping me connect with Ms. Devereux."
Calliope smiled and said, "It's nothing. I know you really like Violet, so I'll help you stay in touch with her."
"I do like her. I admire her ambition. I think she's as perfect and kind as you are," Charlotte said flatteringly.
Calliope was easily swayed by a few compliments, and she smiled shyly, saying, "It's good to make more friends."
"Yes, and we can have a friends' group at the company," Charlotte said with a sharp glint in her eyes, her smile not quite reaching her eyes.
Just then, Eddy came down from the CEO's office to find Calliope for lunch.
He had been busy helping Brady lately and hadn't spent much time with his girlfriend.
He was worried that Calliope might feel neglected and ignore him.
Calliope was such a good girl, and he wasn't going to let her go.
He would hold on to her tightly.
But when he stepped out of the elevator and walked to the PR department, he saw his girlfriend chatting so intimately with Charlotte.
His delicate brows furrowed instantly. He didn't know his girlfriend was getting so close to someone from the Devereux family.
Eddy watched for a moment before quickly walking over to Calliope. "Calliope, do you want to have lunch with me?"
When Eddy approached, Charlotte tactfully stepped aside.
Calliope turned to look at him, her cheeks naturally flushing a bit.
It seemed like her face always turned red whenever she saw Eddy. "I can't today. I have plans to have lunch with Violet and Charlotte."
Eddy felt he needed to keep Calliope away from Charlotte.
After all, the Devereux family wasn't known for being kind-hearted.
Calliope was too naive and shouldn't had been used by her.
"Calliope, do you know who she is?" Eddy took her hand and led her to a quieter hallway.
"What's wrong? I know, her family had some issues with Violet before," Calliope said, confused by his serious expression.
"But she's not like that."
Eddy knew she would say that. "Have you considered that people can be unpredictable? She's not trying to be your friend."
Calliope didn't believe him and frowned slightly. "Eddy, can you not talk about her like that? She's nice. She often helps me at work! And it's been months, she hasn't done anything to Violet."
"Calliope, I'm worried she'll use you to hurt Mrs. Hall," Eddy said, feeling helpless with his naive girlfriend.
"Eddy, do you have a bias against her? She's not like what you think. Can you stop talking about her like that?" Calliope was a bit angry. "It's hard enough for me to make a friend here. You can't expect me not to make any friends at all."
Seeing her angry expression, Eddy sighed. It seemed his girlfriend had been brainwashed by Charlotte. He couldn't blame her, so he softened his tone and said, "I'm sorry. Don't be mad. I'm just worried about you and Mrs. Hall."
"Okay, but stop talking about her. Charlotte is nice," Calliope insisted.
Eddy had no more arguments left.
He reached out to touch Calliope's forehead and said, "Alright, just be careful. How about we have dinner together tonight?"
"Okay."
