Chapter 397 Would She and Brady End this Relationship?
Violet got the text from Max around 1 a.m. and was totally floored when she read it.
Even though Fanny was usually a pain and had even set her up before, Violet didn't hate her as much as Laura did.
Fanny's little stunts had already earned her a boot from the company, which seemed fair enough. But Violet never thought Fanny would end up like this.
Fanny was now in a vegetative state, unable to move or wake up; her life was completely wrecked.
Violet felt a weird mix of emotions.
She couldn't crash until around 3 a.m.
In the morning, Violet dragged herself out of bed. Brady was already up, chilling in the dining room with their two kids who were also early risers. He was already in the loop about what went down with Fanny and Laura last night.
One was okay, but the other might be stuck in bed for life.
It was seriously messed up.
But Brady never really cared much about either of them, so after hearing the news, he had Eddy, on behalf of the Hall Group, send Fanny's parents $50,000 as a kind gesture, which was pretty generous.
Violet stumbled down the stairs, still half-asleep, and joined them. Brady handed her a glass of juice and asked, "You heard about Fanny?"
Violet took the juice and paused. "How'd you know?"
"There's nothing I don't know," Brady said, sitting across from her.
Violet nodded, sighed a bit, and said, "She's in a vegetative state."
Hellen, who was making breakfast, overheard and asked, "Violet, who's in a vegetative state?"
Violet took a sip of juice and said, "A former colleague from our company, got hurt during a robbery."
'Stuff like that still happens?' Hellen felt like she was hearing a TV drama plot and was stunned for a moment. But she didn't ask more and went back to making breakfast.
"I sent $50,000 in condolence money. Don't stress about it and focus on your show today," Brady said gently, his fingers tapping the table.
After saying that, Brady, seeing Hellen wasn't looking, playfully pinched Violet's cheek with affection.
Violet was caught off guard, and her cheeks turned a bit red.
Henry and Nicole, who were nearby, widened their eyes in curiosity as they watched their dad pinch their mom.
'Why does Dad pinch Mom's cheek?' The kids didn't get it at all.
They just watched with wide eyes, fascinated.
It wasn't until Violet pushed Brady's hand away that he stopped, smiling.
Violet glared at Brady.
Henry and Nicole couldn't understand this complex relationship, but they felt happy having both their mom and dad together, hoping they would keep this way forever.
Across the pond, Brady's mom, Ava, had been thinking about Matilda's mention of a joyful event. She couldn't get any info from others. So, before hitting the sack tonight, she decided to call Brady to ask about it.
She dialed the number.
Brady was walking down the steps of the mansion with Violet, ready to drive her to the show.
Suddenly, his phone rang.
Brady took out his phone and saw it was Ava.
Brady frowned slightly. Ava usually didn't call him for months, afraid of bugging him. He wondered what was up today. But then he thought it was probably something minor.
So he didn't hesitate to answer in front of Violet. "Mom, what's up?"
"I'm coming back at the end of the month. Also, Matilda mentioned a joyful event. Do you know what it is?" Ava asked directly, her voice gentle over the phone.
Of course, Brady knew what Matilda was talking about.
It was about him having a girlfriend.
But knowing his mom, Ava wouldn't approve of Violet.
So, Brady paused for a moment and said, "Yeah, there's one. You'll find out when you get back."
"Are you keeping it from me too?" Ava complained.
"It's a surprise, so it has to be kept secret," Brady said with a warm smile, his eyes fixed on Violet, making her unable to look at him directly.
From Brady's phone call, Violet caught a few words and guessed that his mom was coming back?
She wondered if that meant she and Brady would have to end this relationship.
