Chapter 1080 Want to Pamper You, Want to Spend Money on You, Is That Not Okay?
"I'll show you that not all men are jerks," Lucien said softly, his eyes determined.
"Lucien, she's just starting to heal. Don't push her too hard," Violet warned, worried Lucien might overwhelm Emily.
Lucien nodded. "I get it."
Violet felt relieved. "Lucien, you came back to the family business because of Emily, didn't you?"
"Yeah, she's been holding up the Hart family all by herself. I was worried she couldn't handle it," Lucien admitted.
Just as she had suspected, Violet felt a wave of comfort. "Lucien, if Emily ever opens her heart to you, please treat her well. She's a wonderful girl."
Lucien nodded. "I regret not realizing my feelings for her sooner. I hurt her."
"It's not too late now. Show her that you're sincere," Violet encouraged, as long as he truly loved Emily.
Lucien nodded again.
"Lucien, I'll leave now. Emily is in your hands," Violet said before leaving. She had to head to JK.
At JK Corporation.
Max sat in his office, lost in thought as he stared at the design competition invitation Violet had forwarded to him.
The invitation was from a well-known international competition. He had checked the official website yesterday, and the competition announcement was indeed there.
So it shouldn't be fake?
Moreover, the sender was the assistant to the competition's organizer.
No issues with the identity.
But when he asked his industry colleagues today, none of them had heard about the Ellen Design Competition?
Of course, Max couldn't suspect it was fake.
It just seemed odd.
Usually, news about such competitions would circulate within the industry, but this year, there was no buzz at all?
Max couldn't figure it out, so he decided to stop overthinking. Even if it was a misunderstanding, he had to investigate. Missing out on a real competition would be a shame.
Max snapped out of his thoughts and called Violet. "Violet, the invitation seems legit. Should I reply for you?"
Violet was almost at the company. "Sure, go ahead and reply. Let me know the confirmed dates."
Max agreed and proceeded to respond to the competition email on her behalf.
Violet hung up and leaned back in the car to rest her eyes.
When she arrived at the Hall Group building, she got out of the car.
The driver opened the door for her.
Just then, Brady and Eddy were heading out for some business and ran into her. Brady said, "Come with me to a party tonight."
Violet was taken aback, her mind momentarily blank. She had known Brady for two years since they got married, and they had never attended any parties together.
"What kind of party?"
Brady smiled. "An important social gathering. I want to introduce you to some connections."
"Really?" Violet finally processed what he said and nodded.
"Are you busy right now?" Brady glanced at her simple business dress.
"Not really," Violet replied, except for investigating the fire incident on the set.
But she had already assigned the Hall Group's hackers to look into it.
"Then come with me," Brady said, taking her hand.
Violet was pulled along quickly and asked, "Where are we going?"
"I'm meeting a client at the stables. It will only take an hour. You can enjoy the stables, and after we finish riding, I'll take you to buy a dress," Brady explained as they walked.
Violet smiled and clung to him. "We have plenty of dresses in the closet at home. Why waste money on more?"
"I want to spoil you. Can't I spend money on you?" Brady didn't mind the employees around them, holding her close as they headed to the car.
"Fine, then I'll pick the most expensive one."
"Go ahead. The Hall family has plenty of money for you to spend," Brady teased, nibbling her ear affectionately.
Violet shivered at his touch, her cheeks flushing. "By the way, I have something to tell you. I've decided to go abroad for the competition. It's happening in the next few days."
