Chapter 944 Dear, It's Okay, I'm Here to Save You

But Miles wasn't the type to give up easily.

Locking eyes with Brady, his piercing blue gaze unwavering, he spoke in a low, gravelly voice, "Mr. Hall, don't you think it's a bit early to call it?"

"What? Miles, are you seriously thinking about cheating right in front of your own people? Don't you care about your reputation?" Brady had expected Miles to put up a fight.

He sneered, his voice dripping with disdain.

"Of course, I won't cheat, but Mr. Hall, it's still too early to declare a winner," Miles continued, his voice barely above a whisper.

Brady's patience was wearing thin. "Miles, cut the crap. I just won."

Miles didn't reply. Instead, he took advantage of Brady's growing frustration and discreetly pulled a small, thin knife from his pocket. The knife was so well-concealed in his palm that no one around noticed.

He could have easily stabbed Brady in the back, but Brady sensed it just as Miles raised his hand. They struggled for control of the knife, and in the scuffle, it accidentally slashed Brady's arm.

A deep gash opened up instantly.

Blood began to seep from the wound, dripping onto both of them.

Miles tried to kick Brady away, but he used too much force, and they both tumbled off the edge of the rock.

Fortunately, Brady managed to grab hold of him.

Even if Miles had fallen, he wouldn't have died, but he would have been seriously injured.

Brady didn't want any more entanglements with this organization, so even though he was injured, he held on to Miles with all his strength to ensure he didn't fall and get hurt.

Miles hadn't expected Brady to save him. He could have easily let him fall.

He could have taken two down with him.

"Why did you save me?" Miles asked, looking up at him.

Brady let out a cold laugh. "You guys have been chasing Julie for years. If I hurt you, wouldn't you make my life a living hell?"

It sounded like a joke, but Miles knew he was right.

If something happened to him, no matter how powerful Brady was, his life would be anything but peaceful.

"Get up," Brady said, pulling him up.

Miles glanced at him, said nothing, and climbed back onto the rock platform with Brady's help.

Once up, Brady pressed a hand to his bleeding arm and stepped back a bit, saying, "Miles, I won. You won't cheat again, will you?"

With so many people watching, Miles couldn't possibly cheat.

Suppressing his frustration at being defeated once more, he said, "I won't, but you can only take one person. Mr. Hall, you can choose."

Brady glanced towards the iron cages, ready to make his choice.

Miles dusted off his hands and suddenly spoke up, "Mr. Hall, the rules of the game are that you have to choose from here. You can't get closer."

Brady's eyes narrowed. As expected, even after winning, Miles wouldn't make it easy for him to choose.

"Mr. Hall, don't choose wrong. If you pick Julie, your wife is mine," Miles continued, his blue eyes dark in the firelight.

"I didn't realize you were interested in my wife," Brady said coldly.

Miles smiled. "I wasn't before, but I suddenly find her quite interesting."

"Miles, my wife is mine," Brady said through gritted teeth, trying to control his rising anger.

"Who knows? If you can pick her, I'll let you all go," Miles said, curious to see if Brady could identify his wife from a distance.

Brady focused intently on the two cages.

He knew Violet's body well, but both women were wearing identical dresses, and their faces were covered.

After a few moments of careful observation, Brady decided to find Violet first.

As for Julie, he had a plan to make Miles release her.

After a few seconds, Brady raised his hand and pointed to the cage on the right, saying calmly, "I want the person on the right."

He was certain it was Violet.

Miles sneered and signaled to his subordinate to open the cage.

As soon as it was open, Brady couldn't contain his emotions any longer. He rushed over, pushing aside the subordinate who had opened the cage.

He entered the cage and lifted the woman, who had not yet recovered.

He pulled the bag off her head.

The face revealed was Violet's.

Brady looked at her, holding her tightly as if she were a precious treasure. "Honey, it's okay. I'm here to save you."

Miles stood where he was, watching them embrace. His blue eyes darkened, and he coldly smirked. Without hesitation, he took a gun from a nearby subordinate and aimed it at the other cage.

With a voice as cold as a devil's, he laughed lowly, "Mr. Hall, since you got what you wanted, how about we move on to the next event... a sacrifice?"
