Chapter 721 Violet's Heart Suddenly Raced

That evening, Brady headed upstairs to his study to wrap up some work.

Violet brought him a cup of herbal coffee.

She knocked, entered, and closed the door behind her.

Violet placed the coffee in front of her husband, eyeing him with concern. Brady, puzzled by her sudden scrutiny, asked, "What's up? Checking out your husband's physique?"

"If you want, I can take my shirt off right now," Brady teased, starting to unbutton his shirt.

Violet blushed slightly and quickly stopped him. "Why are you taking your shirt off? I've seen you plenty of times already."

"I heard someone from the Stanley family got hurt today. I was worried you might be injured too," she explained, not interested in his physique.

"I'm fine," Brady reassured her with a smile, rubbing his temples and sighing. "It was his uncle's doing."

Violet was curious. "What happened?"

Brady pulled her onto his lap, gently caressing her face and kissing her. He lovingly recounted the day's events. "His uncle tried to frame Arthur and get him sent to prison. He hired a hitman to shoot himself and left a gun at the scene."

"Do you think that kind of plot is low-quality?" he asked.

Violet didn't think it was low-quality, just cruel. After all, they were family, not distant relatives. She sighed, "I just find it chilling. They're uncle and nephew, related by blood. How can they turn on each other like that?"

"That's how it is in wealthy families, driven by interests," Brady said, more familiar with the dark and cold nature of such families.

"I know," Violet replied, having grown up in a similar environment. She wasn't unaware of the cold-bloodedness.

But witnessing such brutal infighting firsthand still made her shiver.

She suddenly placed a hand on her belly and said, "I hope we have a daughter."

"What's the difference between a daughter and a son? They'll both get what they deserve," Brady said, not showing any favoritism.

"I know, but I still hope it's a daughter," Violet said. She knew he would be fair, but if they had two sons, she feared there might be conflicts. A daughter wouldn't be so ruthless to her brother, right?

"Who knows? Either way, I'll make sure nothing like the Stanley family's infighting happens," Brady assured her.

Violet nodded. "Okay." After a pause, she added, "I have a prenatal checkup tomorrow. Will you come with me?"

"Of course."

"Then drink this herbal coffee. I just made it, and it won't taste good if it gets cold," Violet said, handing him the warm cup.

Brady looked at the fragrant coffee and suddenly said, "Why don't you feed me?"

Violet rolled her eyes. "Why are you so lazy? You want me to feed you?"

"Please?" Brady smiled.

Violet couldn't resist him. She scooped a spoonful and brought it to Brady's mouth.

But Brady had other ideas. "I want you to feed me with your lips."

Violet was speechless.

"Please?" he insisted.

Violet blushed. "I can't do that."

"In that case, I'll feed you," Brady said, taking a sip of the coffee and then kissing her, letting the coffee flow into her mouth.

The aroma of the coffee mingled with his kiss, making her heart race. Her husband was becoming more and more irresistible.

As they enjoyed their moment, Brady's phone buzzed, breaking the mood.

Annoyed, he picked it up and saw a message from Charlotte in the Hall Group's PR WhatsApp group: [Mr. Hall, sorry to bother you. There's a disturbance at Harbor Bay with some workers contacting the press. The CEO's office has asked us to accompany you there.]

Right after, Eddy from the CEO's office also messaged him.
