Chapter 739 What He Cares Most About Is That His Wife
"What kind of mistake?" Brady had been waiting for Aiden to bring it up.
Aiden had made such a big deal out of it; it couldn't be that simple.
"That depends on how sincere Mr. Hall is," Aiden said, his serious expression shifting to a sly smile. "I want 30% of Harbor Bay. How about selling it to me, Mr. Hall?"
"Mr. White, are you trying to get something for nothing? I have no idea what mistake you're talking about," Brady replied calmly.
"If Mr. Hall is willing to work with me, I'll tell you. Of course, you can refuse and call the cops, but I have a thousand ways to clear my name. However, if the mistake at Harbor Bay gets exposed, the Hall Group will go down with it. Don't blame me," Aiden said with a confident smirk. He paused and added, "I don't think Mr. Hall has much appetite to dine with me today, so I'll take my leave."
"If Mr. Hall wants to cooperate, you're always welcome to reach out," Aiden said confidently before getting up and leaving.
Brady watched him swagger out, his eyes cold and calculating.
He turned to Eddy and said, "His words might not be entirely false. Check if there's any mistake at Harbor Bay."
"Mr. Hall, are you sure he's telling the truth?" Eddy asked. He had been involved with Harbor Bay since its inception and hadn't found any major issues.
"His words can't be ignored," Brady said, rubbing his fingers together. "Go check. I despise being blackmailed."
After a moment, Brady seemed to remember something and said, "I heard the White Ocean Group recently invested billions in real estate. If something goes wrong, it could be disastrous for him."
He wouldn't let anyone who threatened him get away without paying a heavy price.
Eddy understood. "Got it, Mr. Hall."
The business lunch ended on a sour note.
Brady had lost his appetite and decided to head back to the office.
As he left the restaurant, he remembered that Violet and Emily were having lunch and gave them a call.
Violet had almost finished eating when she answered, her voice sweet. "Hey, honey, how's it going over there?"
"Nothing much," Brady replied.
Hearing Violet's gentle, sweet voice instantly lifted his spirits, dispelling his earlier worries. "Are you done eating?"
"Almost. Emily and I ate a lot today; I'm stuffed," Violet said, gently patting her stomach, her voice filled with warmth and happiness.
Brady chuckled softly. "Are you heading back to the office?"
"No, I'm going with Emily to meet her crush."
Brady raised an eyebrow. "Where are you meeting him?"
He was most concerned that Violet wouldn't be looking at other men.
"At the Deconstructionist Academy. The guy she likes is a new young professor there," Violet said honestly.
Emily, overhearing Violet reveal her secret to Brady, immediately protested, "Violet, that's our girl talk! Why are you telling your husband everything?"
She felt so embarrassed.
Emily thought it was a private matter.
Now, Brady knew too.
"Alright, Emily's upset," Violet said, seeing Emily's embarrassed face. She quickly ended the call with Brady. "Emily, don't be mad."
"Brady won't gossip."
He wasn't the type to spread rumors like some women.
Emily lowered her hands, her face still red. "Okay."
She hoped he wouldn't say anything.
But Brady probably wouldn't gossip, so Emily felt a bit reassured.
Still, the thought of meeting Lucien soon made her heart race uncontrollably.
So embarrassing!
