Chapter 851 Using These Things Can Easily Lead to Temporary Amnesia

Violet couldn't resist Brady's charm and teasing any longer. She leaned in and gave him a soft kiss on the lips.

As soon as she did, Brady swept the pile of documents and his laptop off the desk, making room to lift Violet onto it.

Brady gently caressed her face, his breath warm and inviting. "We didn't get to enjoy ourselves in the car earlier. How about we make up for it now?"

Violet's bright eyes met his, and this time, she didn't shy away like before.

Instead, she responded for the first time, "Sure."

Her willingness surprised Brady, lighting up his eyes with delight. "You wanna try it here in the study?"

He had expected her to refuse.

Violet wrapped her arms around his strong waist, her cheeks flushed. "Didn't you say you wanted to show me all kinds of excitement? Why would I say no? If I keep turning you down, you might get tired of me. What if you like someone else?" Her voice trembled as she spoke.

It was the first time she wanted to let go and enjoy this passionate experience with him.

"You're overthinking it. Even if you said no, I wouldn't be interested in anyone else," Brady assured her, his tone warm and sincere.

"Do you like it when I'm like this?" Violet asked boldly.

"I do." What guy wouldn't appreciate his girl being so forward?

Brady was no exception.

"Then I'll be more proactive from now on, okay?" Violet felt liberated, realizing that being assertive wasn't so bad after all.

This newfound assertiveness gave her a sense of conquering Brady.

"Okay." Brady smiled tenderly, his expression growing even more affectionate. He leaned in, enveloping Violet beneath him.

The next day, Darian was discharged from the hospital.

As soon as he was out, Brady got a call from the police. He didn't think it was a big deal and went to the local police station with Eddy to give a statement.

However, Brady had a plan to draw Darian out.

During the police investigation, he deliberately leaked the news that he and Eddy were being held.

Those in the know understood it was nothing serious, but those unaware might let their guard down.

Brady wanted Darian to relax his vigilance.

But he underestimated Darian's shamelessness.

Darian was willing to resort to any means to achieve his goals, even kidnapping a teacher, so letting his guard down was out of the question.

He knew Brady's detention wasn't immediate. It was more about keeping Brady tied up in the investigation.

So why was there talk of detention so soon? Darian sensed something was off.

He wasn't easily fooled.

Back at his place, he sent Alaric away and stayed alone, heading to the basement.

In the dimly lit basement, Jade, with her graying hair, had been unconscious on the cold floor for an entire night. Her body was chilled, almost lifeless.

Darian approached his former mentor, who lay weak and disheveled on the floor, without a shred of compassion. He crouched down and checked her breathing.

She was still alive.

But Darian had no intention of saving Jade, leaving her to remain unconscious or eventually die.

That way, he could pin the blame on Brady.

With this thought, Darian quickly went upstairs to retrieve gloves, a forged will, and other tools.

When he returned to the basement, Jade was slowly regaining consciousness.

She opened her eyes, disoriented, and saw the unfamiliar basement. She winced in pain, but when she looked around again, she noticed the door was open. How did it open?

Her first thought was that her vision was failing.

But upon closer inspection, the door was indeed open.

She wasn't seeing things. It was truly open, and she shakily stood up, leaning against the basement wall, and began to make her way out.

But after just a few steps, Darian descended with the tools he planned to use against Jade.

Seeing her emerge from the basement door, Darian quickly hid the items in his suit pocket and approached her with feigned concern. "Ms. Hernandez, you're awake?"

Jade, still dizzy, saw her beloved student Darian and instinctively let her guard down. "Darian, what are you doing here? Where am I?"

"Ms. Hernandez, let's go upstairs. I'll explain everything," Darian said, supporting her arm as they slowly ascended.

Jade nodded, weakly leaning on Darian, eager to get upstairs and find out more.

Once in the living room, Darian helped Jade onto the couch and respectfully poured her a glass of water. "Ms. Hernandez, are you feeling unwell anywhere?"

Jade took a sip, trying to regain her strength, and pointed to her temple. "I'm dizzy, and I feel like I've been asleep for ages. My whole body feels weak."

"Darian, what's going on? How did I end up here?" Jade asked, still dazed, having forgotten about her kidnapping.

The aftereffects of the sedative were taking hold.

Given her age, using such substances easily led to temporary memory loss.
