Meanwhile, back in the States, after Violet finished the video call, she and Calliope returned to pack their luggage.
While packing, Hellen noticed it. Concerned, she knocked on the door and asked, "Violet, are you going somewhere?"
Violet said, "Our company has a business trip coming up, so I need to be away for a few days."
Hellen didn't really understand her company's affairs, but seeing her pack so few clothes, she said, "Is that all you're taking? Isn't it too little? When you're out, it's better to bring more things."
"It's okay, I'm only going for a few days. Bringing too much would be inconvenient," Violet said, zipping up the travel bag. When she looked at Hellen, she suddenly felt a lump in her throat.
Hellen noticed it and immediately squatted down, looking at her. "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
"No, I just feel a bit sad. It's my first business trip, and the first time I'll be away from you and the kids for several days," Violet said, trying to calm her emotions.
She didn't want Hellen to worry too much.
Calliope had mentioned that this trip to Radiantia could be dangerous, but she didn't know what kind of danger. What if they couldn't come back?
Violet didn't dare to think about it.
The more she thought about it, the more she wanted to cry.
If something happened to them, what would happen to Nicole and Henry? What about Hellen?
"It's okay, you're only going for a few days. You can video call us every day while you're away!" Hellen comforted her.
Violet nodded. "Got it."
"Since you're leaving soon, go hug them now." Hellen helped her up, took the travel bag, and accompanied her to the living room.
Seeing Nicole and Henry's happy faces under the soft light, Violet felt a surge of sadness and her eyes reddened again.
She quickly wiped the moisture from her eyes and hurried over to hug Nicole and Henry. "Babies, Mommy has to go on a business trip for a few days. You need to be good and stay with Hellen, okay?"
Nicole didn't understand what a business trip meant and looked at Violet in confusion.
Henry, being smarter, immediately realized that Violet would be away for a few days like Brady. He tightly hugged Violet and said, "Mommy, I don't want you to go."
"Henry, be good. I'm only going for a few days." Violet comforted him, feeling heartbroken.
Seeing Henry like this, Nicole also hugged Violet, not letting go.
"Mommy, you're just like Daddy." Henry couldn't fully express his thoughts, but Violet understood enough. He was worried she would be like Daddy, who went on a business trip and hadn't come back yet.
Violet immediately comforted Henry. "Henry, Nicole, be good. I will really be back soon."
"Mommy, you have to promise." Henry looked at Violet with big eyes.
Looking at the smart Henry, Violet felt a bit sad. Sometimes she wished Henry wasn't so smart and could grow up like an ordinary child.
She didn't want Nicole and Henry to worry about her.
Violet sniffled and immediately raised her right hand to swear to Henry and Nicole, "I promise you both, I'll only be gone for a few days, and then I'll be back."
After Violet made the promise, Henry let her go. Violet hugged them again, then picked up her travel bag and left.
