Chapter 650 It's a Misunderstanding
As soon as Brady walked in and saw Ethan and Violet holding each other, his anger flared up, ready to explode.
Before Violet could recover from her shock, Brady swung his fist and landed a heavy punch on Ethan's face. Ethan, who was trained in martial arts, was caught off guard by Brady's unexpected blow and couldn't dodge it.
Ethan stumbled back several steps from the impact. Violet, terrified by Brady's aggression, instinctively rushed to help Ethan. "Ethan, are you okay?"
Ethan glanced at her, wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, and smiled. "I'm fine. Who's this guy?"
"Sorry, he's my husband, Brady Hall," Violet replied. Brady immediately pulled her to his side, his voice low and cold. "You remember I'm your husband? Do you think this is appropriate?"
Brady was furious, especially since his wife was concerned about another man.
"Don't be mad; it's all a misunderstanding," Violet said softly, her arm hurting from his grip. "You're hurting me."
Brady was about to continue his tirade, but her gentle complaint softened his heart. He loosened his grip and asked, "Does it still hurt?"
"No, it's fine," Violet said, shaking her head.
"Then explain the misunderstanding," Brady demanded, wanting to hear her out.
"First, he's Henry's savior. I didn't tell you because I was afraid you'd be upset." Violet gently held his hand and explained. "Second, he's the son of the man in the photo. Remember the photo Lilian released when we announced our marriage?"
Brady frowned, his eyes showing a hint of surprise. "He's the son of the man in the photo?"
Violet nodded. "That's why I said it's a misunderstanding. He doesn't know who I am; I gave him a fake name."
Brady understood now. His jealousy was misplaced; his wife hadn't betrayed him.
While Violet was explaining, Ethan listened, his eyes narrowing slightly. She had given him a fake name? And it sounded like she had a connection to his father?
"Violet, who are you really?" Ethan asked after a few moments, looking at Violet nestled in Brady's arms.
Violet felt a bit embarrassed for deceiving him. "Ethan, I'm sorry for the deception. My real name is Violet Devereux, and Evelyn is my mother."
So she did have a connection to his father!
Ethan's expression softened. He didn't have much resentment towards the idea of his father having a secret daughter. It was an old story, after all.
And having another sister wasn't a bad thing.
"So, does this mean I have a new sister?" Ethan smiled slightly.
Violet nodded but then hesitated. If Ethan was her brother, did that mean her father had cheated on his wife with her mother? She didn't want to disrupt their lives. "If you really are my brother, does that mean your father betrayed your mother? If that's the case, I won't intrude on your family. I don't want to force a relationship."
Violet knew that families often didn't accept illegitimate children. That was why she hadn't planned to seek them out.
She had her own family now, with a loving husband and adorable children. Her life was fulfilling, and she didn't need to insert herself into someone else's family.
"I don't know," Ethan replied.
Brady then stepped in, extending his hand to Ethan. "Mr. Lawson, I'm sorry for the misunderstanding earlier."
