Chapter 135 What? Annie Hit Her Head?

As soon as Leana left, Loraine Plahn had the maid help the unconscious Violet into the villa.
But before the Calvin family's private doctor could arrive,
Violet had been lying on the villa's sofa for about ten minutes when she gradually came to.
Waking up to the sight of a chandelier on the ceiling and then noticing Loraine sitting nearby,
Violet impulsively tried to get up, but Loraine shot her a look and sighed, "Just lie there, get some rest. Don't pass out again on my watch; I won't be responsible for that."
"I'm fine." Rubbing the sore spot on her head where Leana had hit her, Violet slowly sat up and, despite a lingering dizziness, asked Loraine, "Can you spare me ten minutes?"
Loraine, observing her determination, was truly frightened by it.
She had never seen someone so insistent.
Especially someone who used to be a noble and pampered young lady – so flexible in adversity.
She felt a touch of uncertainty and, sighing again, told a maid, “Pour Ms. Devereux some tea, and bring a warm towel for her forehead.”
The maid nodded and scurried off to prepare the tea and warm towel.
Violet was somewhat surprised; why was Loraine suddenly so nice to her?
But then it occurred to her that it might be guilt from the collision with Leana – the impact hadn’t been in vain after all.
"Thank you, Loraine," Violet said gratefully as the dizziness ebbed away. And she began to share her wedding gown design concepts – exactly ten minutes’ worth.
No more, no less.
As she finished, the tea arrived along with the warm towel.
Loraine, however, was captivated by her design concepts – indeed, they were fantastic, capturing the ethereal, youthful, and fashionable essence she desired.
Loraine Plahn felt like she was about to eat her words. Previously resistant to working with Violet Devereux due to some allergy, she now found herself reconsidering.

Violet's vision for wedding dress designs was unexpectedly captivating.

With her own wedding approaching fast, Loraine couldn't delay choosing a designer any longer, or she'd be stuck with an off-the-rack gown.

For a star of her caliber, that simply wouldn't do; her dress had to be custom-made.

After a moment of contemplation, Loraine said, "Here's the deal, sketch something up for me within a couple of days, the sooner the better. How about that?”

"If it takes longer than two days, forget it. I'm out of time."

Upon hearing the unexpected approval, Violet's face lit up with joy, nodding eagerly. Indeed, her mother had been right—perseverance paired with sincerity always pays off. "Loraine, don't worry, I’ll have the designs ready within two days," she promised.

Loraine nodded and was about to respond when her phone rang. It was her cousin Arthur Stanley. Turning to Violet she said, “Help yourself to some tea, I need to take this call."

Violet wasn't interested in tea; she was eager to leave. But now that she had secured the design job, it wouldn't hurt to stay a little longer for tea.

So, Violet settled down and started sipping tea.

Loraine stepped aside to answer the call. "Cousin, what's up?"

"Who are you letting design your wedding dress?" Arthur inquired. He was currently meeting Brady Hall for dinner, and Brady was smoking across the table from him while he chatted on the phone.

"I've decided on Violet Devereux," Loraine remarked with a hint of resignation, "I've given in to her persistence."

"Violet Devereux?" Arthur sounded surprised at the other end, having thought she'd never agree to it again. "How did she change your mind?"

Now Arthur was curious.

"She came to see me again, and after taking a knock to the head, courtesy of Leana's accident, she woke up and kept discussing the design. I was just impressed by her dedication," Loraine recounted the event in detail.

After hearing the story, Arthur glanced at the man sitting opposite him and raised his voice deliberately, "What? Violet Devereux had a head injury?"

As planned, his comment drew the attention of the man across from him, who paused mid-drag on his cigarette.
His gaze snapped to attention in an instant.
