Chapter 165 Violet Devereux's Fortune to Catch His Eye
Brady Hall sat alone in his office, mulling over the trip to the old town before redirecting his focus to his pressing business matters.
This preoccupation lasted less than half an hour.
Mr. Taylor called, "Brady, the Deepwater Port project is nearing completion. When can we schedule to finalize it?"
"Let's discuss it later. Aiden won't give up that easily. For now, just ensure all the legal preparations for the port's completion are in place," Brady answered.
"Mr. Hall, I'll handle everything, don't worry," Mr. Taylor assured cautiously.
"Good. Keep at it," Brady Hall said, trusting his personal lawyer without question.
"Understood, Mr. Hall," Mr. Taylor replied.
After ending the call, Brady twirled the high-quality pen in his hand, his defined fingers brushing his chin as he thought of Henry's tearful expression and Nicole's sweet, shy demeanor. Squinting, he doubted that the kids belonged to anyone else, yet without concrete evidence, he couldn't just claim someone else's treasures. For now, he had to let it be, wondering how to confirm any family connection.
At the office of JK Design Firm, Violet Devereux was busy dialing Loraine Plahn’s number, her excitement palpable as she held the preliminary sketches of the wedding dress she had just completed.
The gown was the epitome of modern elegance, its sheer fabric akin to undulating waves, adorned with a multitude of delicate pearls.
Pondering whether Loraine Plahn would approve of the design, Violet didn’t have to wait long for an answer. The call connected quickly.
"Hey, Loraine, you got a minute?" Violet greeted her cheerfully over the phone.
"Sure, I'm not too busy," Loraine replied leisurely, comfortably settled in her dressing room as her makeup artist worked their magic.
"I’ve just finished the first draft of your wedding dress. When can we meet today? What works for you?" Violet asked carefully, phone in hand as if it were a lifeline.
Given the mango cake fiasco last time, Violet’s interactions with Loraine were always fraught with anxiety, fearful of any mishaps.
"Ready already?" Loraine sounded surprised but pleased; her engagement was swiftly approaching and time was of the essence. "Come over now, I'm free this morning."
“Got it. I’ll text you the address. I'll text you the address—just a heads up, my studio’s location is private.” she added.
"Of course, I understand—confidentiality is key," Violet replied earnestly.
"Great, let’s hang up then. Call me when you’re here," Loraine said before ending the call to continue with her makeup session.
A short while later, Arthur called.
Loraine picked up, ready to ask what prompted his call, but Arthur jumped in first. "Next time you see Violet Devereux, invite her to join us at the old town."
Caught off guard, Loraine asked, "You mean you want me to invite her to my bachelorette trip?"
Arthur confirmed with a nod. "You know what to say, right?"
The hint wasn’t lost on Loraine. With a knowing twinkle in her big eyes and a coy smile, she probed, "Cousin, are you doing this for Brady?"
"No need to ask. Isn’t it obvious? He's been single forever," Arthur chuckled. "I'm swamped here, just make sure you extend the invitation."
"All right, I know what to do," Loraine assured him with a playful smile before hanging up and gazing at her reflection in the mirror.
She couldn't help but smirk, her lips curving at the thought. Was Brady serious this time or just fooling around?
Loraine Plahn couldn't help but think that for a guy like Brady, when it comes time to tie the knot, he'd surely go for someone who's his match in every way.
But then again, even if she didn't end up marrying someone like Brady, spending time with him wouldn't be so bad, right? Brady was famously generous.
Violet Devereux must have felt lucky to catch his eye.
