Chapter 16 She had to fight for what she deserved

"Yes, I already put them to sleep," her aunt smiled and spoke. "Let me go check on them."
Violet silently approached the guest room, and her aunt followed her. She asked softly, "Do you want to have the white fungus with lotus seed? I'll heat it up for you."
"Hmm, I'm a little hungry," Violet whispered. "By the way, Aunt, I pumped two bags of breast milk at work. It's in my bag. Take them out and put them in the fridge. You can warm them up for the babies tomorrow."
"Alright," her aunt said, and she went to get the breast milk and white fungus with lotus seed soup for her.
Violet continued to tiptoe towards the bed in the guest room, where her two precious little angels were sleeping obediently.
The soft light from the bedroom spilled over, gently enveloping them like two little angels. Violet's heart melted as she watched them. No matter how hard or tired she was, as long as she saw her two little darlings, any hardship or fatigue didn't matter anymore.
Violet reached out and gently touched Henry and Nicole's hair, then bent down to kiss their adorable little faces, saying, "Goodnight, my babies." Then she left the room.
Back in the living room, her aunt had already brought out a bowl of hot white fungus and lotus seed soup. "Violet, come and have some," her aunt said.
"Alright," Violet rubbed her hands together and walked over. "By the way, here's a business card, you should keep it," her aunt said as she put the bowl down, pulling out a business card from her pocket and handing it to Violet. "We can ask her for help with your mother's inheritance issue."
Violet took the business card and glanced at it. It belonged to a young female lawyer Ms. Parvis. "Aunt, do you know her?" Violet asked.
"No, I don't know her. A friend introduced her to me. She said this lawyer is very responsible. I think she might be able to help us," her aunt replied.
Violet nodded.
Now, she would seize any opportunity she had to fight for what she deserved.
In this late-night city, the numerous lights slowly dimmed, and most people started to enter their dreams.
Meanwhile, in a high-end nightclub named "IDO" in a fancy hotel in this city.
Brady, per the invitation of his good friend and another top-tier powerhouse of the four major families, Arthur Stanley, came to accompany him for a drink.
The bustling nightclub was filled with hazy lights and noise.
The handsome man held his wine glass and sat quietly there, idly swaying the high-stemmed glass filled with top-quality wine in his right hand.
The liquid swirled, but he did not drink it.
Arthur couldn't help but tease him, saying, "Mr. Hall, you came here to drink, but you seem burdened with something? Could it be... you've taken a liking to one of our little beauties?"
Brady glanced at him and impatiently replied, "Not interested."
Of course, as North America's number one male god, these little models here couldn't catch his eye.
Arthur smirked, chuckled, and continued, "But today, you don't seem like yourself, huh?"
"What am I usually like?" Brady sneered at him, but his mind was suddenly consumed by the scene of his confrontation with Violet today.
His eyebrows unconsciously furrowed, and he picked up the wine glass, downing the premium wine in the tall glass in one gulp.
The red wine burned going down.
With a thud, Brady placed the wine glass on the glass tabletop.
Damn it... he was actually thinking about that woman!
The furrow between Brady's eyebrows did not settle with the burning sensation of the strong liquor but instead became somewhat indescribably irritable.
However, he wouldn't allow this irritation to grow.
He pressed his forehead heavily with his hand, shifting to another topic, "Aiden wants to take notice of the land in the east side of town. Any thoughts?"
"Why would he take notice of your land?" Arthur was somewhat puzzled.
Although the White family had also risen to the ranks of the four major families.
But ultimately, the White family emerged through unscrupulous deals.
Where did this nouveau riche with no class find the audacity to try to devour the Hall family that had accumulated wealth for generations?
Don't they fear death?
"Bold and arrogant." Brady scoffed disdainfully, "The White family recently managed to garner the favor of a certain influential figure and believes that having a strong backing means they can do as they please."
“I see.” Arthur understood now, and a slight crease formed beneath his handsome brows. "If he dares to take notice of your land, he would probably come after me as well."
Greedy people are never satisfied.
"Keep an eye out, he's not someone to be underestimated. He might have long wanted to swallow us up and become the head of the four major families," Brady slowly said.
"I know." Arthur released the crease in his brow and said thoughtfully.
"Let's have a drink." Brady instructed him, picking up the empty glass and gesturing towards a nearby waiter for a refill.
The waiter dared not neglect his duty.
Holding the wine bottle, he respectfully and cautiously poured the wine for Brady.
Brady's wine glass was filled with one-fourth of exquisite red wine. Subsequently, the two men slowly enjoyed the frenzy of people dancing in the center of the dance floor, while savoring their drinks.
Tonight, this nightclub was bustling with popularity. The deafening DJ music resonated in everyone's eardrums.
Brady and Arthur relaxed as they drank, while Lilian, who noticed Brady drinking in this club, secretly adjusted her seductive skirt.
She constantly searched for Brady's seat in the colorful and hazy nightclub entrance. She must find an opportunity to approach Brady.
What if he was taken away by other women? Especially since her disgusting sister, Violet, suddenly appeared and even went to the Hall family. How could she trust her? She absolutely would not allow Violet to have any contact with Brady.
