Chapter 1049 Ms. Clark, Call Me Ms. Devereux at the Company

Everyone kept chatting excitedly for a bit before heading back to their desks to work.

Violet glanced at Aria, who was dressed flamboyantly in her signature "party dress" again today, this time with a front closure. The hem had a high slit, showing off her long, beautiful legs. She wore black high heels, maintaining her strikingly aggressive beauty.

Violet turned her gaze away and said, "Aria, can you come to my office?"

Aria looked at her and nodded slightly. They walked to Violet's office, one after the other. Violet sat behind her desk, while Aria took a seat across from her.

"Aria, our design department is currently full, but I have an opening for a design assistant. Are you interested?" Violet casually flipped through the resume on her desk, speaking gently.

Aria's lips curled slightly. She understood Violet's intention. Trying to intimidate her, huh? Did Violet think she was scared? Aria had survived a tough childhood without parents, so a mere Violet was nothing to her.

"Sure, I have no objections. I just joined, so I definitely need to start from the bottom," Aria smiled faintly, her hidden ambition glimmering in her eyes.

Violet raised an eyebrow, thoughtfully looking at her. "Aria, please don't call me 'sis' at the company. You can call me Ms. Devereux."

"JK is a company, and I don't want people to think you got in through connections, affecting our reputation. Also, if you call me that, everyone will doubt your abilities and think you got in through favoritism, right, Aria?" Violet's words were gentle but carried a hint of sarcasm.

Aria wasn't foolish; she naturally picked up on the insinuation that she had gotten in thanks to Matilda. Her beautiful face twitched slightly with discomfort. "Alright, Ms. Devereux."

Violet felt she had made her point and, since Aria hadn't shown any major flaws yet, she couldn't stir up trouble. She closed the resume and said, "Please get me a glass of water."

"Then, go to the administrative department and discuss the assistant's job responsibilities."

Aria lowered her gaze, her fingers slightly clenched. Was Violet treating her like a mere worker? Aria had to admit Violet's cunning. She hadn't considered this. But no rush, the battle had begun, and they would see who laughed last.

Aria sensibly got up to get water. As she opened the door, Violet pulled out a design draft and said, "Aria, the company has many surveillance cameras."

This made Aria's face darken again. "Ms. Devereux, don't worry, I won't put anything in your water."

"That's good," Violet replied with a fake smile. After dealing with so many women trying to cozy up to Brady, she had become adept at handling them.

After Aria left, Violet closed the door. She got up to open a window for some fresh air; Aria had sprayed perfume. It was a strong floral scent, reminiscent of Lilian's favorite fragrance. She wondered if Aria was as foolish as Lilian.

Violet stood by the window for a while, letting the office air out before returning to her desk. It had been a while since she worked, and she looked at the design invitations for the next quarter. She felt a bit rusty. But she was still talented; after wasting two sheets of paper, she got into the groove on the third.

Violet spent an hour drawing, and as lunchtime approached, Brady called her. They hadn't had lunch together at the company in a long time. Violet was delighted and planned to go to the Hall Group's restaurant.

After setting the lunch time with Brady, Violet put down her phone and suddenly thought of something. She immediately texted Aria: [Aria, let's have lunch together at the company restaurant.]

Aria, unaware that Brady would join, naturally agreed. [Sure.]
