Chapter 927 How Can She Let Another Man Kiss Her

As soon as Violet slapped him, she realized she might have acted impulsively.

But then again, she thought that she was a married woman. How could she let another man kiss her?

So, that slap wasn't wrong, even if he hadn't kissed her.

But he had the intention, didn't he?

While Violet was lost in her thoughts, Miles' expression darkened instantly. His eyes, the same piercing blue as Julie's, glinted coldly under the moonlight, like icy blades.

It sent a shiver down her spine.

Now, he probably wanted to kill her, didn't he?

After a few seconds of silence, Miles began to laugh coldly, as if he found Violet's actions amusing.

He raised a hand to gently touch the cheek she had slapped, his voice dropping to a menacing tone, "I'm not interested in married women."

With that, he stood up abruptly, his face still cold, and walked to the front of the boat.

Just like before, he let his long legs dangle lazily as he sat down, unbuttoning his now-soaked uniform.

His voice was as cold as ice, "This is the first and last time. I'm sparing you out of respect for Mr. Hall, but if you provoke me again, I won't be so patient."

In other words, he might not care about Brady next time.

He might kill both her and Julie.

Hearing this, Violet and Julie exchanged a terrified glance, then quickly moved to sit on one side of the boat, staying silent.

The subordinate who had been holding Julie earlier went back to start the boat's engine.

The motor roared to life again.

Waves splashed up at the stern, crashing against the white deck with loud thuds.

Violet listened to the annoying sound of the waves and the engine, then glanced at the man sitting at the front of the boat, now shirtless and still cold as ever.

A sense of unease began to creep into her heart.

What were she and Julie supposed to do now? She had no idea where he was taking them.

Were they going to his hideout? Or to some unknown island where he would kill Julie and bury her?

Vesperia had numerous uncharted islands, some so remote and forgotten that no one had set foot on them for centuries.

If they were buried alive, no one would find them or come to their rescue.

She could only hope Brady would come for her soon.

But would Brady find them?

Violet suddenly felt uncertain.

This was Vesperia, not Crestoria, where finding someone was much easier.

So she had to save herself and protect Julie, not just rely on Brady to rescue them.

"Brady, are you okay?" Julie asked softly, her eyes red and puffy.

"I'm fine," Violet shook her head. The suffocating feeling from nearly drowning had passed, so she tried to comfort Julie, "Julie, we'll be okay."

Julie seemed ready to give up. She knew they were after her, not Violet.

So she planned to let them kill her and send Violet home.

"Violet, they won't spare me. I'll talk to them and ask them to let you go home," Julie said, her eyes welling up with tears.

Violet, having come this far with her, wasn't about to abandon her.

She grabbed Julie's hand tightly and said, "Don't be silly. I won't give up on you, and neither will Brady. Your brother was his benefactor."

"So, you have to stay alive," Violet said, glancing at the man at the front of the boat.

Seeing he wasn't looking their way, she whispered, "Julie, when we get there, you have to listen to me, okay? I'll get you out of this."
