Chapter 197 Does Brady Harbor Feelings for Violet?

"Brady," came the assistant's voice again, laced with anxiety, "I'm going to call the infirmary."

Violet, finally regaining her senses, reflected on the recent events. Despite Brady's previous domineering behavior, he had indeed come to her rescue. She realized she couldn't be so heartless; each matter deserved its own consideration.

After a moment's contemplation, and moved by a burgeoning sense of gratitude, Violet approached Brady. "Thank you, Brady, for what you did," she said, her voice soft.

"I have wet wipes here," she continued, producing a pack of soft, moist towels from her bag and offering them to Brady.

Brady cast a glance at her but didn't refuse the offer. Accepting the wet wipes, he began to gently clean the blood from the back of his hand.

Fortunately, the cut from the glass shards wasn't too deep. As he pressed the tissue against it, the bleeding ceased.

The young fan who had initiated the attack was now being restrained by the security guards who had arrived on the scene. They were poised to call the police.

"What trouble has JK found himself in now?" Brady asked, his gaze sweeping over Violet and Max after he'd finished tending to his wound. The man's earlier tirade about Loraine and his accusations against Violet had left a question hanging heavily in the air. Brady had a suspicion that JK was once again at odds with Loraine.

"Brady," Violet began, her brow furrowed and lips pursed, unable to keep the matter hidden any longer.

Max, seizing the opportunity to possibly play the hero, interrupted, "Brady, this morning, a gossip site leaked news of our client Ms. Loraine's engagement and her unrevealed wedding dress. The leak came from a fan of Ms. Loraine, who must've seen the news and staked out our Hall family's underground parking lot."

"So, Violet's the one who let Loraine's information slip?" Brady quickly grasped the situation, his dark eyes settling on Violet's tense face.

Feeling his gaze, Violet quickly defended herself, "Brady, it wasn't me, I swear."

"I didn't ask for an oath, nor did I say I didn't believe you. What's got you so flustered?" His gaze was steady, his voice cool and clear. "JK is a design brand under the Hall family umbrella. You think I'll just stand by and do nothing?"

This could be a minor or major issue. Loraine was closely tied with Arthur, being his cousin. Handling this would take nothing more than a word from him. But to brush it off without a thorough investigation would surely tarnish Violet’s reputation. The matter must be dropped or investigated thoroughly to clear her name.

Violet fell silent under Brady's firm response, her embarrassment evident. Did she really think a CEO of his caliber would bother with petty issues?

And Max, observing Brady's concern, wondered if it was about the Hall family’s corporate image or about Violet? The thought of the latter reminded him of Brady stepping in to save Violet, causing a jolt of unease to strike him.

Could Brady have taken an interest in Violet? As far as he knew, a billionaire CEO like Brady wouldn't lack for women nor easily fancy someone. While Violet was certainly pretty, she wasn't a ravishing beauty who could topple empires. Max quickly discarded the thought. Maybe it was just a man’s instinct to help?

With that mindset, Max dismissed his suspicions and continued the discussion, "Brady, I don't believe Violet did this either. No one would jeopardize the company’s reputation and their own future in design to spill such information so blatantly."
