Chapter 83 What is she hiding? Could they really be his children?
Violet stared at the towering and muscular bodyguards, biting her lip.
What exactly did Brady want to do?
Insisting that they stay?
Violet became somewhat exasperated.
Turning around, she said to the tall man who's already standing up, "Mr. Hall, as I said, my cousin's babies need to get vaccinated."
"Do you have to interfere in this matter too?" Brady stared at her angrily, looking like a little lioness, and his eyes became even darker. What was she hiding? Could it be that they are really his children, and she's afraid?
The more Brady speculated, the less he wanted her to leave. "The vaccination center is not open right now, correct?"
"I'll take you there later."
Obviously, Brady insisted on keeping them here for a while to play?
Hellen immediately looked at Violet nervously and whispered, "Violet, what should we do?"
Violet glanced at Hellen and comforted her softly, "Hellen, it's alright." After speaking, Violet looked directly at the noble and authoritative man. "Mr. Hall, by doing this... you're putting us in a difficult position. Henry and Nicole are timid, and these bodyguards will scare them."
"After playing with me for half an hour, I'll let you go. Otherwise, you won't leave until the paternity test results come out," Brady said slowly with a gentle tone.
Although his speech was slow, the strong meaning behind his words made Violet immediately feel uneasy.
Who wants to stay here for half an hour?
What if the two little babies pull off their wigs?
Violet bit her lip and started racking her brains for a solution.
But after thinking it through, she couldn't come up with a good idea and could only buy some time. "Alright, we'll play for half an hour."
As soon as Violet finished speaking, Hellen said in a slightly surprised tone, "Violet, the babies are shy."
Of course, Violet understood what Hellen meant.
Not only were the babies shy, but they might also give themselves away.
If that happens, forget about the paternity test, the Hall family might really take the children away.
Violet gently patted the back of Hellen's hand, telling her not to worry. She would try to control any accidents, but whether she could ultimately control them could only be tested later.
"There are some snacks on the sofa, they should like them," Brady's expression softened a little when he saw that they were willing to stay.
When it came to his own children, Brady was still very proactive.
The small snacks on the side of the sofa were specially made by the maids this morning, with no pollution or additives, just small cookies and cakes.
So, if the paternity test results come out, he would bring them to his side and provide them with the best living conditions and educational environment.
Violet glanced at the exquisite snacks on the side of the sofa, but no matter how exquisite they were, she had no desire to give them to the two babies.
But the two little ones were still young.
Seeing the colorful and cute cookies and cakes placed on the small coffee table by the sofa, their mouths watered.
They blinked their big eyes and kept looking at Violet.
Brady couldn't help but look at Hellen. The little ones were pitifully craving to eat but dared not. Their mom had told them not to talk or play recklessly at this uncle's house. They remembered it well! However, the cookies and cakes looked irresistibly delicious, and they wanted to eat them.
Henry couldn't help but salivate and, once again, looked at Hellen, softly and weakly saying, "Auntie, I want to eat." "Henry, be good. This is Uncle's house, and we can't eat here. Auntie will give you some when we go home, okay?" Hellen squatted down, trying to coax the two little ones. But the two kids still whimpered, wanting to eat. Brady saw this and immediately stood up, walked over to the coffee table in long strides, picked up two cupcakes, and went directly to the two kids. He crouched down and handed the cupcakes to them, unusually gentle in tone, "There are plenty here. If you want to eat them, I'll have Auntie make more." After Brady finished speaking, Violet immediately stood in front of the two kids and politely declined, "Mr. Hall, they are too young, they can't eat these, it will ruin their teeth." Henry and Nicole were teething, and their eighth teeth were just coming out. She couldn't let them eat too many sweets and damage their teeth.
Brady looked up and glanced at the woman who protected the two kids like they were precious. He originally wanted to say something, but suddenly felt that it was pointless to say more. Everything could wait until the paternity test was done. He put the cupcakes back on the coffee table and returned to his seat on the sofa, his gaze fixed on them. Suddenly, no one spoke. The atmosphere became extremely tense. Fearing that the babies couldn't hold on, Violet gritted her teeth, ignoring Brady's forceful gaze, and said to Hellen, "Hellen, play with them for a while. They're getting nervous standing for so long." Hellen understood and took the hands of the two little ones, walking to the French window to play with them.
Only by diverting the babies' attention could they prevent them from pulling their wigs. They played like this abruptly. Henry couldn't bear it anymore; he felt that his hair was so itchy. He wanted to scratch it. So he used his chubby hand to scratch his wig, the more he scratched, the heavier it became. Hellen's heart leaped into her throat as she reached out and grabbed Henry's chubby hand, saying, "Henry, what's wrong?" "Auntie, my hair is itchy." Henry dragged his soft voice. It was really itchy and stuffy. But mom said he couldn't take it off. He could only scratch it.
When Nicole heard her brother say this, she empathized and started pulling her wig in a pitiful manner. Hellen quickly grabbed her little hand, preventing the two little ones from actually pulling off the wig, or it would ruin the illusion. Violet watched nervously from the side. She could see that the next moment could be the turning point.
In an instant, Henry and Nicole were about to remove the wig.
Violet clutched her hand tightly, disregarding everything. The most important thing now was to make sure that Brady didn't snatch the babies away. Even though she had avoided Brady and refused to get close to him before, she was now willing to go all out.
She walked briskly towards this noble and aloof man, reaching out and firmly shaking his large palm, saying, "Mr. Hall, can we find a place to talk? I have something to say to you."
For the sake of the babies, Violet was willing to let go of any shame.
The children were her everything.
Brady raised his elegant brows, slightly surprised by her sudden intimacy. His deep black eyes stared at her intently, wondering what this woman was up to.
"Mr. Hall, I really need to talk to you." Violet held his broad hand, but he remained unmoved.
She was starting to get anxious.
"Can we go to the study to talk?"
Brady stayed silent for a few seconds, suspicious of her intentions. After thinking for a moment, he decided to accompany her to the study.
The two of them entered the study, one after the other.
Once the heavy study door closed, Violet let go of Brady's hand instantly, retreating to stand by the door, acting as if she found him repulsive.
This made Brady's gaze grow deeper, and his tall figure slowly approached hers. His voice was warm and gentle, like a mountain, as he said, "Miss DE Vere, just say what you need to."
Violet looked at his approaching body, feeling a lump in her throat. She pursed her lips for a few seconds and took a deep breath before speaking softly, "If the paternity test results show that these two children have no blood relation to Mr. Hall, please don't disturb us anymore."
Is that all?
Why did she have to bring it up here?
Why did Brady feel like there was something fishy going on?
"Miss DE Vere, is that all?" Brady asked.
"Yes," Violet nodded. "Also, I don't agree with the previous agreement. Please don't bother me, Mr. Hall."
Bringing up that matter, Brady remained silent. His black eyes stared at her, threateningly. Did she truly believe that he couldn't live without her?
After watching her for a while, he suddenly closed in, his tall figure overwhelming her. Violet could only feel herself completely surrounded by him.
This kind of dominance made Violet feel a little uneasy.
She raised her hand to push him away, but Brady unexpectedly extended his hand, placing his warm palm directly on her flat abdomen. In a forceful voice with a hint of threat, his thin lips slowly parted as he said, "Miss DE Vere, I can agree to all of this, but... don't let me find out... that you lied to me... the consequences would be severe, understood? Hmm?"
