Chapter 1026 Sorry, I Get a Little Dizzy When I Drink Too Much

"Lucien, are you serious? Where did he get a fiancée from?" Emily snapped back to reality, pursing her lips as she looked at Lucien. "Are you trying to smear his name?"

Smear?

Austin, with his opportunistic nature, wasn't worth the effort to smear. It would only dirty Lucien's hands.

Lucien's fingers lightly gripped the steering wheel. "If I were lying, I wouldn't bother taking you there."

"I don't want to see you get played by him."

Emily frowned, momentarily speechless. Despite Lucien's cold demeanor, he was indeed a man of integrity who wouldn't lie. When she had pursued him before, he hadn't led her on like other men, only to then discard her. He simply didn't like her and didn't play games.

But this was precisely why Emily was conflicted. Knowing Lucien wouldn't make things up, she was unsure whether to believe him, doubt Austin, or pretend she knew nothing.

She was torn. Austin was currently very favored by her parents, and they were even planning their engagement. If this were true, how would she explain it to her parents?

Just this morning, Austin had knelt before her, his sincerity making it hard for her to be ruthless.

"You'll know when we get there," Lucien said softly, seeing her inner turmoil. "Don't overthink it now."

Emily remained silent, turning to look out the car window, lost in her conflicting thoughts.

At the wedding venue.

Aria, who had been holding back her emotions, sat among the guests, watching Violet and Brady chat with other relatives. Her possessiveness and jealousy flared up again.

Why should she be inferior to Violet despite her efforts? She was clearly much better.

With this thought, Aria stood up, casually asking a server for a glass of champagne, and gracefully walked towards Brady.

Standing before the couple, Aria maintained a calm expression, offering a gentle and flawless smile as she raised her glass to Brady. "Congrats on your wedding."

"Thanks," Brady replied politely, raising his glass in return.

Violet remained silent, deliberately leaning into Brady's embrace as she looked at Aria. They had already clashed at the Hall Mansion, so there was no need to pretend to be friendly.

"Mrs. Hall, you look beautiful today. Congrats," Aria said, showing more restraint than Violet had expected. She raised her glass towards Violet, signaling for a toast.

Violet didn't want to toast with her and replied politely, "Ms. Clark, I appreciate your congratulations, but I'm feeling a bit unwell and can't drink. Sorry."

Such a blunt refusal, especially in front of Brady?

Aria understood. It was a deliberate attempt to embarrass her. But she was more resilient, so she smiled indifferently. "Alright, take care of yourself."

"I'll drink this one myself then," Aria said, downing her champagne in one go.

After finishing, she shook her empty glass in front of Violet. After a couple of shakes, Aria suddenly pressed her temples, her body swaying before she collapsed into Brady's arms. Brady frowned, trying to push her away.

Aria quickly pulled back, feigning a flustered and apologetic look. "Sorry, I get a bit dizzy when I drink too much."

As she spoke, she glanced at Violet, her expression challenging.

She had just issued a challenge.

Violet read the implication in her eyes, her face darkening. But she wasn't afraid. Many women had tried to steal her husband; Aria was just another one.

Brady, aware of Violet's animosity towards Aria, maintained a deliberate distance. "If you're feeling unwell, I can arrange for someone to take you home."

Aria smiled sweetly. "Thank you, but there's no need. I brought my assistant, and she's waiting in the car."

Brady nodded, keeping his distance and saying no more.

Aria then deliberately staggered back to her car parked on the tree-lined path outside, pretending to be drunk.
