Chapter 69 Never Abandon You Through Lifetimes
The next morning, while everyone in New Future City was still lost in their dreams, the internet began buzzing with news about a murder case involving the once-prominent Devereux Group.
The daughter-in-law of the Devereux family had allegedly killed her mother-in-law and hidden the body in a freezer. The police had already apprehended the suspect.
This piece of news, which initially had only a few thousand views, skyrocketed to millions by around 10 AM, dominating the headlines with the shocking details of this heinous crime.
People couldn't stop gossiping about the scandalous affair.
Meanwhile, at a private hospital in New Future City, Brady woke up after a good night's sleep.
Violet had already prepared some porridge for him, keeping it warm in a thermos, waiting for him to wake up.
As soon as he opened his eyes, Violet leaned in with a gentle smile and asked, "Honey, how are you feeling? Any discomfort?"
"Are you thirsty? Hungry?"
"I made some millet porridge for you last night. The doctor said it's good for your stomach."
"Besides the porridge, I also had Eddy get you a burger."
Violet's rapid-fire questions left Brady no room to speak. He just smiled at her, feeling a deep sense of happiness from her care and concern.
He really loved this feeling.
The feeling of having family and loved ones by your side.
"I'm a bit hungry," Brady finally said, his voice hoarse from sleeping all night, making him sound uncomfortable.
Violet immediately looked worried. "Is your throat sore? You sound so dry. Should we ask the doctor?"
Brady's lips curled into a deep smile as he reached out to touch Violet's face. "I'm fine."
"Probably just a bit dry from sleeping."
"Okay," Violet nodded, slightly relieved. She then bent down to look at him, and after a few seconds, suddenly threw herself into his arms, hugging him tightly. "Brady, please don't get hurt for me again. It makes me sad and worried."
"I'll try not to put you in that position again."
She felt guilty for encouraging him to help, fearing it might affect the Hall Group, but now he was hurt because of it.
"Don't be silly. I'm your husband. If I don't stand up for you, who will?" Brady said, stroking her soft hair.
"Protecting you is my responsibility. If I can't even do that, what kind of man am I?"
"I won't let you do anything too dangerous," Violet said, knowing he loved and cared for her deeply.
But she didn't want anything to happen to him.
"You're Henry and Nicole's dad, and the father of our unborn baby. I can't be selfish and only think about myself."
"I know, don't worry," Brady said, gently lifting her chin and rubbing it softly. "I'm touched by how much you care about me."
"From now on, we'll both take good care of each other."
Violet nodded obediently, her eyes filled with endless tenderness and infatuation as she looked at him.
She leaned in and pressed her soft lips to his dry ones, giving him a sweet kiss. "Brady, I'll never abandon you through lifetimes."
Brady's heart was deeply moved by her words, his love for her growing even stronger.
As they embraced and shared their heartfelt promises, Ethan walked in to discuss some family matters with Violet.
He knocked and entered, only to find the couple in a tender moment on the bed. He awkwardly cleared his throat. "Sorry about that."
He hadn't meant to intrude.
