Chapter 992 Why Am I Nervous? I Don't Have Any Women
Violet had just finished picking out her wedding dress when she got a text from Brady.
[Did you finally pick a dress this time?] Brady's phone had buzzed with a bank notification when Violet swiped her card.
[Yeah, I found the one.] Violet replied.
Brady's lips curled into a smile. [Can't wait to see you in it!]
[Okay.] Violet responded.
After sending that message, Violet remembered something about Emily. [Honey, Emily, and Austin are planning to go to the States. Can you help me find some info? I'm worried she might impulsively marry Austin.]
Brady frowned. This was a tricky situation, as it was a personal matter for them. [I'll handle it.]
[Okay,] Violet replied.
[We'll talk more when we get home.] Brady added.
[Sure.] Violet agreed.
With their conversation over, Violet and Emily went to grab lunch.
That evening, Violet was feeding their baby when Brady returned from work. He came upstairs to see her.
Seeing her nursing the baby, his gaze softened with a look of contentment. He sat beside her, watching the baby drink eagerly.
Feeling self-conscious under his gaze, Violet turned slightly. "Do you have to watch me feed the baby? Are you a perv?"
Brady reached out to touch her hair. "I've seen and touched every part of you. What's there to be shy about?"
Violet fell silent. What a rogue.
"By the way, I met a really pretty designer at the bridal shop today," Violet said, suddenly remembering what Aria had mentioned.
Brady raised an eyebrow. "Oh? And?"
"She said you weren't always the kind of guy who treated women well," Violet said, recalling the comment she had overheard but hadn't had time to question.
"Who?" Brady frowned.
"Why? Are you nervous? Do you know her?" Violet teased, leaning in closer.
"Why would I be nervous? I don't have any other women," Brady said, exasperated. "Maybe someone is trying to stir up trouble."
"Who knows? It better be that way, or else..."
"Or else what?" Brady challenged, curious about what Violet would say.
"I'll dump you," Violet said, pretending to be tough.
Brady was genuinely annoyed. "You wouldn't dare."
"Are you threatening me?" Violet huffed.
Brady wasn't really threatening her. He stroked her hair, his voice low and rich. "I'll make sure you know you can't leave me."
Violet fell silent again. What a rogue!
Two days later, Emily and her family were preparing to fly to America with Austin.
Violet made a point to see them off at the airport.
While they chatted, Austin was busy helping Emily's parents with their luggage, being attentive and gentlemanly.
Emily's mom, Elodie Turner, praised him in front of Violet. "Emily, Austin is really great. Look how well he takes care of your dad. Don't be indecisive. Make sure you cherish him, okay?"
Emily blushed slightly. "I know, Mom."
Seeing how well Austin treated her dad, Emily had no intention of breaking up with him.
"That's good," Elodie said, relieved to see Emily warming up to Austin.
Violet, however, felt a bit uneasy. It seemed like Austin had really won over Emily's parents.
"Violet, we're leaving now. I'll be back to be your bridesmaid," Emily said, checking her watch and holding Violet's hand.
Violet snapped out of her thoughts and squeezed Emily's hand. "Safe travels."
"Thanks. I'll message you when we get to America."
Violet nodded. "Okay."
Emily then linked arms with Elodie and headed through the security checkpoint.
Violet stood outside, watching them go. Once they were out of sight, she sighed and turned to leave.
As she turned, she bumped into someone. She quickly stepped back and apologized. "Sorry about that."
"No problem," the person replied, not bothered.
The voice sounded familiar. Violet looked up and was momentarily stunned. "Professor Moreau? What are you doing here?"
Lucien glanced at Violet. "I'm going to America."
To America? Wasn't that where Emily and her family were headed? But surely he wasn't going after Emily, right? After all, he was with Willow. Trying to be polite, she asked, "Are you going on a business trip, Professor Moreau?"
Lucien looked towards the security checkpoint and said plainly, "I'm going to find Emily."
He paused before adding, "Mrs. Hall, I need to go. My flight is about to board."
With that, he picked up his suitcase and headed to security.
Violet watched his tall figure walk away, completely bewildered.
What did he mean by that? Going to find Emily? Was he planning to pursue her? And what about Willow?
