Chapter 930 No Need to Get Involved in Our Affairs
The maid kept staring at Violet, completely stunned, while Miles knew she was right behind him.
His handsome face twisted with irritation.
As they neared the villa's entrance, Miles abruptly stopped.
In a flash, he pulled out a knife and pressed it against Violet's neck, his eyes icy. "You know how to push my buttons. Did Mr. Hall teach you that?"
Violet, unfazed, met his gaze calmly. "No, he didn't."
Miles' eyes narrowed. "Keep pushing, and I'll kill you." He had never felt so cornered by a woman before.
This delay was totally unlike him.
"You won't," Violet said confidently, knowing he wouldn't do it.
If he wanted to kill her, he wouldn't have cared about her cold.
"Don't test me," Miles said, his voice steady.
"I know about you and Julie's brother," Violet said, looking up at him. "The past is the past. Why drag innocent people into it?"
"Her brother's already paid the price. You killed him. Julie's innocent. There's no need for more pointless killing."
Miles sneered, his eyes filled with contempt, his voice sharp, "Mrs. Hall, are you lecturing me?"
"Do you think that just because I don't want to mess with Brady, you can do whatever you want in front of me?"
Violet had no intention of lecturing this killer. She was just stating the truth. "I'm not lecturing you. I'm just stating the facts. Julie is innocent."
"Mrs. Hall, have you ever watched a loved one bleed out in front of you?" Miles pulled the knife away from her throat, but it accidentally grazed her skin.
A slight pain shot through her, and a thin line of blood slowly oozed from Violet's neck.
The wound wasn't deep, just a surface cut.
So, it wasn't a big deal.
Violet raised her hand to cover the bleeding cut, looking at Miles.
Miles saw the blood on her neck, his eyes steady.
He then casually put away his knife and continued, "Mr. Hall has protected you well. There's no need for you to get involved in our matters."
People like them were born to live on the edge, walking barefoot on corpses.
They were the devils in the eyes of outsiders.
But so what?
This was their life and fate.
Once their hands were stained with blood, they walked in hell.
"Is there another way to settle the debt?" Violet had never dealt with people like them.
She didn't know their rules.
She wanted to plead for Julie.
"Trade your life for hers?" Miles sneered, his eyes sharp. "I'll say this one last time, Mrs. Hall, take care of yourself. While I'm being somewhat merciful, don't get involved."
With that, Miles walked out.
Violet stood inside the villa, her eyes fixed on Miles' departing figure.
His words meant she was to stay here and wait for Brady to come and get her. But what about Julie?
Was she going to give up on her?
In truth, she could follow Miles' advice, leave unscathed, and not get involved. After all, Julie had no blood relation to her, and they weren't particularly close. But she knew Julie was Brady's benefactor's sister.
For that reason alone, she couldn't just walk away and let Brady live with the guilt forever.
